❓How did everyone do on last week’s mini challenge? Watch and find out why I didn’t do very well. If you missed the challenge, click here: ua-cam.com/video/CRbyGjf68ak/v-deo.html
Update on the mini challenges for me! I am happy to say that I now found better car and home owners insurance and cancelled cable tv just down to internet. I finally convinced the hubby it was the best thing to do and made it seem like it was his idea...lol..the things we have to do...I thank you for lighting a fire under me to help me feel some stress relief and that is part of my self care.
I get so upset with myself when I quit for long periods and start back again. So frustrating. I’m telling myself “ I am not a smoker”. Over and over and over.
I’m going to try and do number 3 please take care of yourself my friend your no good to anyone unhealthy and trust me when I say we all care about you!!!! ❤❤❤
Please take care of yourself Jen! Good job on quitting smoking!! Yes, our kids sure can cause stress on us Mamas 😂 I am definitely going to be more aware of my water intake 💦 thank you for all you do to help us!
#2 for me by drinking more water and I am planning a self care weekend (hair done, massage, pedicure, wax, and overnight stay at a spa & resort, and a good meal) for next month.
I will be doing #2 with more water but I’m also quitting smoking this week so. I quit last summer because of heat and hard time breathing in said heat but had a death in family and started back up after 4 months. But on week 4 of cash stuffing Journey, and it’s going well. Glad you are doing better.❤
I totally relate to your comment. I have quit so many times over the years and something always pulls me back. I have to say- for me, I’m always around someone else that smokes. I will quit for an extended period and then have something happen that is upsetting. Cigarettes are always too available for me. Always in the house. I am 100% determined this time to say NO. This is my health and my life- no one else’s. I have to repeat to myself, “I am not a smoker.” I just don’t do that. We can do this. Yes, it’s hard. It’s REALLY hard but it’s so worth it!
That’s interesting- I don’t know what mine is. Half of me says anxiety, half says cigarettes have finally done their damage. Either way, it was definitely a wake up call! 💛
Sending prayers your way. I actually just started my self care routine. I got my hair done this past Wednesday and my nails done on Monday. I am using teeth whitening strips as well as a skincare routine every day and night.
Hey Jen glad all your test came back good and you are feeling better. Great job with the emergenbee. I know all too well about worrying about our kids no matter how old they are, all my kids are adults and I think I worry more about them now then I did when they was younger, that’s because I could control everything. No sure which savings challenges I’m going to do this week. Hang in there, sending you lots of positive vibes.
Not selling anything, but going to do a no spend rest of the mo th, other than my son's bday gift. No groceries other than fruit and veggies, no extras, no books. Going to the self care of walking 30 mins every day.
Glad you are okay 🤗. I need healthy ways to deal with stress! Our home was burglarized on June 9th so we have been dealing with that aftermath and I'm a high school teacher and schools just wrapping up next week, doing interviews for next year, and then we start summer school so that's been extremely stressful as well. Some days I feel like I can't breathe!
I am so sorry to hear that happened to you, Katie. I am grateful that you and your family are okay. That’s the most important. That’s a very traumatic thing to have happen and I can’t imagine how stressed that has been. I wish calmness and strength for you to keep going with everything else. Take some time to just breathe. I know that’s easier said than done but you definitely need that for yourself. 💛
Hopefully u will be OK health wise,I really need to give up smoking but finding hard going. Great cash stuffing Yr doing really well with savings challenges and the last of Yr debts
#3 for me. Husband and I chose not to do another trip to California home to move things. We are having our daughter do a yard/home sale on quite a few items. Self-care is already in works, for me, this includes medical visits like eyes, dental, and even dermatologist. These things often get put on back burner because of work and family.
Oh my goodness, I’m glad you are ok and taking a little slow down and self care. Thanks for the great video and reminder to take care of ourselves. I needed that today!
Yes- about the same here for regular tires but I want those “Run Flat” tires - they literally saved my life recently on a rental and now I NEED all of them on my car! 😂
Hey Jen, I hope everything turns out okay. I did not do the mini challenge last week, but my hubby and I went through 6 total boxes that have been just stacked up since we moved ( they were never unpacked lol). This next week I am going to start a self care routine. Drink less energy drinks, drink more water, and take control of my health. I have been experiencing some weird pain in my breast so I’m going for another mammogram to be sure its nothing serious! You and your sister April inspire me so much to save more and more money! Thank you!
I am so glad you are getting the mammogram. That’s how I was feeling, too. Just knew it wasn’t right. We know our bodies. Going through the boxes is SO GOOD! That is a chore!! I am so happy to hear that you are going to try to quit the energy drinks. I wonder if they have anything to do with your breast pain? We ingest such unnatural things and our bodies tell us. For me, it’s definitely cigarettes. I get so mad at myself everyday about them. We can change these habits- I’m with ya! 🙌
Hey there! I noticed you don't have a "Fun" cash envelope that could help you save for those music concerts. This could help you save toward your next or any entertainment event which you know is just around the corner.
Yes, for sure. That is a great suggestion to have a fun envelope. We don’t necessarily need to have one - I wouldn’t buy the tickets if we couldn’t afford them. However, for someone like me that loves something like “summer concerts” - and needs to save up for those tickets- a Fun envelope would definitely get them there- guilt free! That’s what I love about cash stuffing. It really is tailored by you, for your spending habits. It works! 💛🙌
Been so good saving money on groceries by continuing pantry challenge and cancelled all our streaming services etc and i ended up getting a bonus at work and had no self control and bought a bunch of stuff for my kids. UGH 😩 i did put 400 into savings challenges but I overspent so much 😅 i think next month is a fiscal fast lol
That’s what I do- when I have a “Woo Hoo Month” - I just tighten it up the next month or two. It’s all you can do. That’s awesome you’ve been continuing the pantry challenge and got rid of extra subscriptions! Great job on that! 🙌
Hey Jen, Hope you get better. Your videos really inspire me! My personal savings challenge is taking my medication every day. So, I save $2.00 a day to take my meds.
Same! I am using a big jug to track my water, started taking those Seed probiotics, walking 30 minutes a day. I want to start there. I keep saying it and saying it… time to DO IT! 🙌
Oh my please take care...Yes could be a panic attack...and so glad you have quit smoking... that is a big deal...I will do number 2....Again so glad you are getting it checked out...Maybe need to un plug a little bit and find your zen moments....Hugz...
For sure, Judith. I am changing up quite a bit. I want to take a step back and start focusing on myself more. As women, mothers, wives- just always put ourselves last. I am honestly, so done with that mindset. I am implementing small changes each day- making them habits and it’s all for the greater good! I am actually excited about it! I don’t like that it took something so scary to kick me in gear but it is what it is… and I’m ready ! 💛
Hopefully all the tests come out that you're ok. Chest pains is no joke. I quit smoking and drinking a couple years ago because I'm definitely an addict and I felt my health improve. Also my rest of my life improved too but that's another story 😂 I do need to get more self care going so maybe I will try to spend more time doing family walks with the dog and not focus on the speed as much as enjoying the day. Also after buying so much I definitely need to sell more stuff on line 😂
Yes- smoking and drinking doesn’t do anyone any good. I should’ve listened to my parents! 😂 Glad you quit both! And I also have been slowing down on my walks with Uhtred. Just letting him sniff around and I enjoy the scenery more. 😁
Hi Jen Congratulations on finishing Emergenbee (you’re so inspiring) We listed 3 things on Afb marketplace place last week but no takers so no luck there. Please take good care of yourself...yes, smoking def. has to go...have you tried hypnosis...many people have been successful that way. Don't wait to quit when you have a stroke, like I did!❤
I hear you, Marilyn. I really do. I do not want to feel like I did on Sunday. That was so scary. I was home alone and I was literally terrified. I drove myself to the hospital (8 miles) and I was scared. I don’t want that for myself. Cigarettes are not worth it. I will not smoke. 💛

I have 2 credit cards my charges on them are a 1000 or less I ran into issues had to use them how can I get them paid off quickly on my low income I normally don't go over a 100.00 on my charge cards
Hi Tracey- I’m not a financial advisor but I know what worked for me when I was in that situation. This is where you have to start cutting everything extra- and remember it’s temporary. Dave Ramsey suggests cutting any 401k contributions you’re making. And then anything extra like eating out, going out, shopping for anything that isn’t an absolute necessity. The second thing after cutting back on all spending is - extra income. Buying and reselling. Selling your own items. I cleaned houses on the side for a long time. I also asked my boss for more hours. I would go in on Saturday mornings and I took some work home, too. All you can do is spend less and make more. That’s the only thing that will work. You can do it! Question-- do you pay your car/home insurance in cash? I really want to do the cash system but am hesitant because of all the categories that we pay online or via autopay.
No I pay online. I pay everything online. When someone is new to the system, I think that starting off with just a few envelopes and working your way up is best. Maybe start a groceries, gas and spend envelope first. Get your budget written down and start seeing where you can save. Put the cash you save into a sinking fund envelope ( like next year’s car insurance ) and just keep socking away what you can. I am glad you are doing better. I have been there and it can be a bit daunting not knowing what is going on. I did not have a heart attack but a blood flow issue. I can go go go but the moment I stopped running around, the blood going back into my heart is slower, so that causes one of the arteries to spasm. I manage my issue with medicine and has been working great for me. By the way, this is my new channel, I used to go by mayray15!! I will try to do something this week to improve my health. I already have changed my diet and have lost weight. although this week I have gone off the rails a bit due to it being my birthday and well why not. haha But back on the band wagon starting Sunday. I’m glad you’re doing okay and know what it is to take care of yourself. Hey, good job on what you’ve done already and we all are allowed some time off to treat ourselves! 👏
Sending positive vibes for good test results. Had already sold items at a yard sale the weekend before you mentioned it. I've also included daily walks back into my routine as of June 1. What I do need to work on it getting my anniversary trip planned.

That’s so good! I also started daily walks (without Uhtred) - just for me to soak up some alone time and feel energized! It’s been so good for me. 💛
