I do a little Lyft about 4 days per week. I've been on theirs and Uber's platforms since 2019 and I have definitely seen a major decrease in pay. Also I went back to school in 2023 and graduated so I'm also a Phlebotomist and I work full time and do gig as a side hustle. I made the mistake of doing gig work full time while I was in school. Personally me. I'm working on another side hustle because compared to when I first started gig work. If our laws don't step in to help us get better pay gig work in the future will not be worth it. It's not worth it. Get another side hustle that doesn't rely on you putting wear and tear on your vehicle. I make more money as a Phlebotomist. These companies deserve to lose drivers until they go out of business. But thanks to a lot of immigrant drivers being desperate they will never lose the amount of drivers necessary to show these rideshare companies what they will really lose if enough drivers leave them high and dry. My advice utilize gig work as a side hustle if you're going to do it. NEVER depend on this Full time. I don't depend on gig work for anything but side money. I pay my bills from my full time job.

I’m actually doing better than I ever have with gig work. I deliver in a wealthy college town & run 8 different apps every week. Main downside right now is honestly my lack of patience with stupid drivers! I typically start working at around 7AM and usually make over $100 by noon. I don’t like to be on the road for more than 5 hours cuz I have other business/artist stuff going on plus I have a family.

Image if these companies just treated workers fairly and supported them and vetted them better.

Everytime somebody gets fired from a job, they do Uber. I've had Uber drivers try to pick me up at a bus stop, asking me do I need a ride....NOPE.

Cargo vans have taken a serious hit on pay as well. Insurance is ridiculous. If you are thinking about this route, do your research and understand your operating cost. Or drive for a company who has a MC number you can use.

2019-2021 was golden. As someone who was heavy in the gig work space, I think it’s important to know what you’re hustling for. For me, gig work allowed me to do countless things. It also has taught me to continue with a hustling mentality but to apply it do different avenues. I can’t say that it’s as lucrative as it once was but gig work has definitely taught me a lot and helped me grow.

The problem is people not spending money. Times are tough for a lot of people.. and add to the fact that some of the driver's provide poor customer service .. so why would people keep spending money on poor service.. it's too many variables.. and too many gig workers

New the problem is all the low income customers have flooded these apps and can’t afford to tip or don’t want to tip because of their low income and when they do its a low tip and they still expect 5 star quality service make it make sense

Food gig work in NYC is dead and that is due to people renting out their accounts to the illegal immigrants who have no problems paying a $400 weekly fee to these people. The big stuff like Roadie and Dolly are being over saturated with everyone who know the food apps are dead.
The best thing to do right now is try to get a dedicated route and then do gig work afterwards to hit whatever your goal is for the day. But that's just my opinion of the matter at hand.

Thank you so much for your content 🙏🏾 I love your channel as always, well everything, but that hard head nod u do in the opening minutes 🤷🏾‍♂️. Anyhoo, It’s so refreshing to have someone give truly unbiased and genuine opinions with nice inside tips also I left a high paying job with a bunch of different ideas and was gonna use gig work in case of an emergency once I ran thru my savings and have been watching you and others ( your the best though ) and I’m truly kinda sour on the idea or gig work now because of yes the over saturation , etc, but thanks again for your candid disclosure of your experiences on everything 🙏🏾🙏🏾

It depends which gig apps really. Like doordash is trash during the week vs Uber eats can make up for that. Amazon flex Curri veho can rotate the week also it depends on your living situation . are you leasing or finance a car or own if you have kids really depends I say .if you single no kids with bare minimum bills it's easier to maintain but. the wife / husband kids mortgage etc it will be a tough one but still possible just might take you longer

👍Spot on! I agree 💯 I do Uber part time daily for me not Uber I provide quality service and do all the extra little things to please the customer I live in vegas I'm very selective and cash out monthly Uber in my opinion should stay a side hustle
I dont go to resturants known for long wait times and bad attitudes I value my time and gas I meet Uber half way within reason I break even with tips I focus on the customer not Uber Enjoy your content Very informative My AR is 50%

Thanks for the video Latoya. First I must say...... take that shirt off. Those Bears ain't going no where this coming season. Come fly with the Eagles on the road to victory 😅.
With that being said, as far as your topic, one thing that may be a contributing factor to the decline is an oversaturation of gig companies. It is probably a good reason for the decline in pay for workers due to the fact that they have to compete with each other to stay afloat and profitable. Thus the waiting list you spoke of for new people coming aboard. Just to remind us that these apps were never really meant to be a full time hustle. That is why they are side hustles. Extra money to be made on the side. I personally have a W2 job. I thing gig workers should have one as a staple and use these apps as they were intended.

I wonder why the customer verification liquor Uber Eats orders have suddenly gotten low and yes I believe most of the immigrants are illegal/no work permits because I don’t see them in liquor store presenting id because they don’t have id you just see them on all the basic UberEats DoorDash and Spark deliveries because of this my money full time delivery income has been cut in half and I’m going to have to get a 3rd shift W-2 warehouse job and do my catering apps and Roadie during the day

All these apps is saturated, people doing these apps full time when it was designed for a side hustle.. you can’t really survive on these apps some days are good some is bad.. I have a full time job I depend on and use the apps for side money..

When I work DoorDash, I only work from by time because I will sit there and wait and I will wait for the time where I can make the money because I know nobody’s tipping out here so I’m guaranteed to make seven dollars each in every trip even on short ride because I’ll wait to make that money I did not care. I will go to the crappy restaurants where I noticed the food not ready yet and I do that on purpose. I was too slow restaurant restaurant in the busy one the one that does not take their time that’s why I do burn by time. It’s the best.

As a sahm I do gig work while my oldest is in school and while my husband is off in the mornings. That way I'm with the kids most of the day and I don't have to pay daycare. I make enough for our weekly groceries so I can contribute that way

  • @imjusahusla

The problem is people like you that are telling everybody all the apps that are out here and not telling them the truth about gig work. So everybody is flocking to it not know what they are doing and bidding low and excepting every offer. Making it bad for the vets out here. I think you do make great points in your videos but some of you guys are making it seem like there a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow but it's not.

What we in US have to realize Chinese own door dash Indians control support both of these countries have no idea about o provision of gratuity to order of service so we must realize tony and abeeb 😂culture don’t tip and don’t have customer service industry so don’t play yourself this platform is for you to get it how you live there is one key training your thought that this is”con-tract “ don’t be fooled
Be be yourself and just input immigrants not the problem as saturation varies by state and besides that there should be restrictions bc you have out of towners visiting other states and dashing as they feel you have kids coming out of school and in school dashing for needs there are many variables beyond immigrants and besides that food and beverage has to be trained into you idc if you delivery you have to know how to ignore rude staff at restaurants and dishonest customers we are not here to judge we
Came for money and the more time we waste trying to figure out 2 countries that don’t believe in tipping and have no idea about food and beverage service we are in a abyss of lies followed by cluelessness
