Kirk saying, "dude, what the fuck" is exactly what Kirk would say.
"Sober guys driving"...yeah...i'm pretty sure that's legit
Just on coke
@@tasosdiaforetico7377 Not the drinking kind...
Vince Neil was driving.
Then later in the story he says that Lars' vehicle was weaving all over the road - lol
Goddamn Vince driving jokes never get old.
Just hearing this story makes me want to get his book.
Yess
100%!
Frank told this story on Jason McMaster's podcast (from Watertower and Dangerous Toys), 'Talk Louder', a while ago when pitching his book. He did 2 episodes with Jason..one where he talked about his upcoming book and all of the sad and serious things he has dealt with in his life..like brother's death..straight up hunting the guy who did it..etc....and the other episode, number 2, is where he told all of these fun stories. I am a metal guy, but have never been an Anthrax guy. I dug the first John Bush album with them...but I just never seriously dug them....but just about all of the guys give great interviews. Especially Charlie, imo. I highly suggest checking out Frank's episodes on 'Talk Louder'...especially the more upbeat, career retrospect and story episode.
Kirk is a sweet guy. The most level headed guy in the band for sure!!
Guilty as charged but Hammett it ain't right. There's someone else controlling me.
I see what you did there🤣
Nice.
No more can they keep us in/Listen, Hammett - we will win!
Hammett just leave me aloneeee
Cry out I’m trapped under glasss
I think Scott Ian has a version of this story in his book. It's pretty similar except Scott said he was playing the drums when Kirk came down the stairs and the door in question was an imported Italian wood door that got kicked in.
Kirk is just a down to earth good guy! 🍻🇨🇦
Haha , thought they swiped his $13,000 wahwah collection
You only need one for like 50 bucks :).
@@Olegstuff21986
The lowest priced Crybaby wah is $90.
@@hinjurock70 You can find one used for around 50 though :). Right, you can also get a Vox wah for around the same price and those are the two most popular ones used by pros.
@@Olegstuff21986
True, but buying used gear is iffy, especially effects pedals. And I prefer the higher level Dunlop wahs which go for, $130 and up.
@@hinjurock70 Oh yeah, just got a used wah, not funtional although the guy claimed it was. Will probably try cleaning up the pots first before sending it back since I assume a lot of these used wahs are like this.
And the next day Lars sued him for $1,000,000 for throwing up in his LandRover.
And for listening to metallica illegally
@@jamesdelaney3797 🤣 totally.
Lard I mean Lars...Dude will sue you if fart in his direction...
@@fatherdirt2866 your mother was a hamster & your father smelled of elderberries!
The way he says “dude, what the fuck ?!” Is EXACTLY how i imagine them saying that lol
When he called he actually said "Kirk, I've never opened my self this way. The door is yours so fix it your way. All this cash that I must pay. But invoices don't matter.
No invoices don’t matteeerrrrrrr , never cared for what they paidddd
NEVER CARED FOR WHAT IS DUEEEEEEE, NEVER CARED WHAT I OWWWED.
This happened b4 Metallica sucked. Stop throwing black album lyrics please. Even tho I can appreciate that song
Lmao
Haha.... not the only time that happened to Kirk. James told a story about Metallica also letting themselves in for a jam and getting kicked out by Kirk because he just had a fight with his woman
great story.....just wondering why we are hearing about this 30 years later
I guess he saved it for his book. I found something where Scott Ian talked about it, in much less detail, a few years ago.
Because social media wasn't around then. You got it now so be happy

@@t045tSKT you must be fun at parties. sheesh.
I heard about it a long time ago
Frank sounds and speaks just like Chael Sonnen. This is great.
HE DOES!
That isn't Frank.
Not frank bello.
😂
It's all Lars' fault 🤣🤣🤣🤣
He left his studio door unlocked? Insane.
Wealthy neighborhoods are usually pretty safe.
Before San Fran became a total shit hole, lots of people did that. Wasn't a big deal.
@@acepaul407
I'm sure the wealthy areas are still as safe as ever. Local politicians are smart enough to sure to have the police protect the neighborhoods where their financial interests lie.
Thanks for the replies. I'd lock my studio, even if it was on my own private island.
Getting drunk, puking, then drinking more. Brings back memories.......lol
We used to call that "just making room for more."
@@christophermerlot3366 we called it "re-drunking"
@@jessicajujubean5004 Ha! Sounds like we have gotten along dangerously fabulously.
Sounds like a fun night! ;) Luckily Kirk is a really nice person :)
Kirk understands what goes on at nights 😅
Lol Kirk. Good one.
That's one of the coolest fucking stories! Thanks!
Normal band behavior. Nobody died. Memories. Frank is a treasure.
Kirk is the coolest dude! 100 percent METAL.!
I love this channel and these stories are great , keep em coming 🤘
Scott Ian tells this story in his book.
More Gold!! This channel is the best!
This is a good one. Boys being drunk, goofing off- Kirk played it cool...
Metallica guys are prankster even with friends it’s like Gotcha ‼️‼️‼️
I’m so bad I should be in detention!
It was only $850 🤣 😂
..must not have been that good of a door to break that easily
It was probably all glass except the frame. Slam it and boom. Glass everywhere.
It was 'only' an $800 door.😆 Sounds like he needed a $13k door on his studio to keep his drunk friends out. Great story!
My fav channel on you tube - like by a LOT. Daddy Bloom's story telling game is straight up god-tier!
🤘
This could be a really cool story IF ONLY Frank would say "FUCK" a few more times.....
I laughed so hard that tears were rolling down my cheeks!
Lars is always in the mix - I heard loads of party stories him and Sebastian Bach too. Kirk a humour is class - such an awesome way to play it back!
Really finally a new party story and all these bands are supposed to have thousands of them how come we only hear the same ones from each band tell the same stories again and again and again and again on all these different UA-cam channels.
Maybe because they really didn’t party as much as it’s mythologized and they are like anyone else: human beings
@@smkxodnwbwkdns8369
Or maybe because many of them are either too embarrassing, too crazy or too x-rated to tell.
@@hinjurock70 that’s what they want you to believe. It sells tickets and adds to the rock and roll myth. Because the myth is always bigger than the truth…
@@smkxodnwbwkdns8369
I'm a musician who grew up around the rock scene in upstate NY and then So Cal since age 12, and I can tell you for a fact that rock musicians party A LOT (or at least used to in the 70's, 80's, and 90's - things got more PC and G-rated after that). And the bigger the band is, the more money they have, so the more they party.
@@hinjurock70 so what famous bands did you hang out with and see record? I saw weezer record the green album and was a young kid when The Rolling Stones did bridges to Babylon.
i also knew a coworkers girlfriend that was a waitress and she and her waiter friends partied more and harder than any musician I ever came across. And no one parties harder then a young unemployed wealthy heir. I’ve also known even more musicians that don’t party as t all and are clean/sober. All I’m saying is be cynical of their motives. They want you to think they did all these wild and crazy things because the function of popular music in society is rebellion and a soundtrack to adolescence. I’ve heard more than a few people criticize Nikki Sixx’s “Heroin Diaries” as embellished bs. When there’s a profit motive, always question and follow that.
$13k door damn😲 he was lying door was 800 😂🙄
Question…who in their right mind would have a glass door when your job is to be in a band that’s been nicknamed “Alcohollica” for obvious reasons
Fuckin Kirk,Got him Good in the End....lol 13 thousand for a door ....It was truly only 850 .....Good one Mr Hammett ....💯😆😆💭🎼
I totally want to get this book I always thought he was a cool dude but I never get that much about him he just seems honest which is rare that crafting is image.
Me too!
But only if he signs it!
I've seen Anthrax 4x and got autographs & pics with Joey Belladonna, Scott Ian & Dan Spitz but somehow never got to meet Charlie & Frankie!
Next time for sure!

They were nice enough to sign my stuff and I got pics with Scott & Joey, I still have all of it.
I know they think all the autographs are sold off but I've kept all I've gotten!
I'd love to see them again, always a good time!
Definitely worth it!

This sounds like a great fun time. I wish I could find guys like them to play with musically. All the so called metal guys I’ve always jammed with were always so serious and boring, lame ass unheavy riffs and all trying to control me the drummer. “Slow down dude, let’s just use one bass drum always.
🥁🥁🥁🥁🖕🙄🖕🥁🥁🥁🥁
I guess I’m envious because the MetallicA and AnthraX guys just seem like such good ole friends. I want that so bad. Oh well, maybe someday 😐
I wonder what ol Danny Lilker is doing these days...
@@sweetmissypetuniawilson9206 I heard that Nuclear Assault retired, I saw a recent interview with him he seems to be doing well but he’s probably reay bored since hardly any bands have been able to tour. I wish I could have seen S.O.D. live 💔😢
@@joshjones6536 ya I've got the "Speak English or Die" album & I think "Bigger Than the Devil" cassette but never saw them live...
Just Anthrax 4x. 😁
Autographs & pics with Joey Belladonna, Scott Ian & Danny Spitz only.
Hopefully next time I see them I'll get to meet Frank & Charlie! 😍
Guess its cool for rock stars to trash hotel rooms but not the band room or the door of said rock star
The background music makes this story 1000 times better.
That's such a great story lol, but why would Kirk leave his door unlocked with all that expensive equipment inside?
The good ol days of boys being boys, alcohol and thrash metal comradeship! Those were the days...
Sometimes he leaves the door open lol 😂 sounds like the Kirk that lost his phone!
I love these stories. Keep them coming
Is there a recording of this jam session?!?
xoxo The Clarences
Sir, you’re a fantastic story teller. Thank you so much.
Well read
Dude in these transcripts, when the subject repeats a word or phrase for emphasis, I love the way you read that
Cool story funny 😆 as fuck
As much as I dislike Kirk, he looked good on this story, Frank is an asshole, run after destroying his door? not cool
Why would anyone dislike Kirk? He's a great guitarist and comes off as one of the nicest more humble dudes ever.
lmfaooooo
There's more Spinal Tap in this than just turning it up to 11. But no way that door was just $850... not even in the 80's.
I haven’t seen the door.
Lol .., $850 :)
I almost wish they had smart phones back then so you could see some of this stuff go down. These guys lived like a tsunami made of humans

Kirk is very underrated. No one ever talks about his chops.
"Just don't do it again" hahahaha
Wow what a great story. I wonder how long they jammed in Kirk's studio before he caught them haha
Just riffs from fucking everywhere 😂😂
that part had me cracking up cause I k ow EXACTLY what he was saying😂
Kirk's a Genius
Lol
"That didn't look like we just smashed his door for kicks and ran away at all". I'm not surprised Lars was drunk out his gourd though, take a look at he video of him singing Am I Evil in Inglewood in 1992, guy was faced.

That's what I figured as well. Anthrax had that big fire before POT that destroyed of their stuff so I imagine this happened sometime before that, but after State Of Euphoria.
“Sober guys driving”. Ok story is fake.
At least that part of it is 😄
he should take care aboute the Italian intruders.....
Typical Heavy Metal trash-head story ! This was the way it was in those days!

Kirk is such a nice guy
What year was this?
