Having bought the Aquaglide Expedition 85 packraft and loved it, I was really keen to get the Cirrus Ultralight kayak with the innovative TPU fabric build and especially with it having a TPU drop stitch floor! @AquaglidePlatinum

Thank You Once Again For Your Suggestion❗️Enjoy The Outdoors.
@@dianadom4742 you're welcome 👍😁
I have an ultralight Cirrus 110. I hesitated because of the price, but I have a spinal issue that requires. I have the latest kayak possible in this one fits the bill. It was really worth it. It is easy to inflate, easier to carry and perfect on the lake!
Have you seen my latest 3 month review video? It's just so versatile 👍😊
You seem very enthusiastic about this one Karl, can't wait to see you out in it
Cheers John, I was out yesterday in it again and my upload yesterday was in this :)
BTW I've been looking at those 300cc scooter/trikes - they look like decent little beasts !
Great vid! Hope you received your packet with the replacement cap for your stern drain port. I'm loving the 150 model and putting it though its paces. Happy paddling!
Thank you sir 👍😊 yes got the replacement, even here in the UK! Impressive 😁👍
Hello! You requested comment, so here goes. I've been considering getting the Cirrus, and all the good things that you said about it are true, but I have some concerns. The TPU tubes are only 70D dernier nylon, which is really low on the scale of robustness. In 2019 I was looking for a low-cost pack raft to see if I'd like it. I researched dozens of models from the reputable manufacturers - Alpacka, MRS, NRS, Kokopelli - and only found one pack raft with 70D side tubes, the Kokopelli Hornet. Every other one had a considerably higher dernier. I bought the Hornet because it was the lowest priced one, was on sale and came with 4 piece paddle and rechargeable mini-pump. I figured no great loss if pack rafting isn't for me. In early 2020, the Hornet somehow got a pin-hole leak in the tube. It was under warranty, so I sent it to Kokopelli and they professionally repaired it and sent it back in no time. Great customer service, BTW. Haven't had any problems since then. What troubles me is that Aquaglide is using a low dernier TPU for a kayak that costs $1300 US, when everyone else who uses TPU is using a higher dernier. (excluding the Hornet, and maybe some other low-cost ones that I've missed.) On top of that, Aquaglide only offers a 2 year warranty - compare that to Alpacka's 10 year warranty,, MRS's 3 year warranty. and NRS and Kokopelli's lifetime warranties. So I guess that I'm wondering how the side tubes will hold up from just normal use, where you'll encounter leaners and strainers and shore-line brambles and thorn-bushes etc. The 70D dernier seems pretty thin, so I'd be worried. Maybe I'm wrong about all this, and someone can correct me. Sorry for rambling on and writing a novelette here...thanks for listening.
Hey 😊 thanks for taking the time to give such a comprehensive response. The reason I have faith in this is because of the AG Expedition Packraft I mentioned. Not sure if you've seen the Pink Flamingo trip we did on the River Lune, but I took that packraft on a whitewater stretch there. We all ground out more times than I can mention and both the base and skeg mount took hell of a lot of hammer. I showed the bottom of the boat after the trip and I was genuinely surprised to see there wasn't a mark on the base. The skeg mount had a few scuffs but it wasn't damaged at all. Maybe AG are making it a bit different to others, I don't know.
Since making this video I've done a bike/kayaking trip, a hand carry/kayaking trip and a kayak/camping trip with the Cirrus - videos of each coming soon - during all of those I scuffed the craft against dock walls etc and paddled under trees and growth. It seems remarkably tough to me and I guess all I can say is, so far so good! 😬😁
@@MoreThanJustaCleaner Thanks for getting back to me. I missed the Pink Flamingo trip video so will watch that. It sounds like you've put the Cirrus through the wringer and it's holding up well, so maybe my concerns are unfounded. Looking forward to the upcoming Cirrus videos. As always, we appreciate your real-world approach to things.
@@jm-bv1wh so far so good 👍😁
If I may... Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) is different than Polyvinyl chloride (PVC), as it stretches where PVC will break. This allows for a more resilient protective covering for the fabric. Lightweight nylon, coated in TPU is significantly more durable than traditional PVC tarpaulin, at a fraction of the weight. A quick Google search of TPU vs PVC will provide a wealth of resources. The ultralight Backwoods Expedition series and Cirrus series have been an amazing experience and truly lightened my load for one of my favorite activities, kayak camping. At 10 feet in length, my 10 lb MRS Nomad S1D is limited to a weight capacity of 260 lbs, while at 11 feet in length, the Cirrus 110 in just under 15 lbs and has a weight capacity of 300 lbs. At 15 feet in length, my Cirrus 150 is 18 lbs and has a weight capacity of 600 pounds, with a drop-stitch floor!
@@gow_g_rod yeah these do seem incredibly durable. When though I'm not a fan of the TPU carry bag, it has taken far more hammer than the Cirrus itself in terms of being dragged, scragged, carried and had a bike stashed on it on the boat, and there's not a mark on it. Unless there's some degradation issue, I can see these lasting a good while 👍😊
👍 Nice
Thanks Liz :D
Hi Karl hope your well? Any good for flat days on the North Devon coast?
I wouldn't have a problem taking this out in water with a bit of chop. They're really pretty stable 👍😁
Nice, wondering what it’s like on the sea
It should feel stable enough, however it is light and might be a bit more vulnerable if windy.
@@MoreThanJustaCleaner It's a bit of a fight for winds greater than 15 mph. However, capacity load allows for better handling in those conditions.
@@gow_g_rod good to know, cheers dude 👍😊
Can you show it packed up tight? Thinking of taking this on some hikes.
I'm not sure it will pack up that tight. On the underside at the front there's a long thin plastic strip, kinda like a fin. Whilst it's not totally rigid like the skeg mount, I think rolling it might damage it.
Just Wondering What Tripod & Leash Did You Use For Your GoPro Camera❓Is The Tripod Waterproof❓Oh Yes, & Thanks For Your Review😉
Lol you're welcome.
I have done a separate video in my camera setup but I'm camping out in the sticks tonight and can't find it. I use a bendy leg tripod so I can attach it round the side of the craft. If you reply to this ill reply when I have better reception 👍😁
@@MoreThanJustaCleaner O.K. Have The Bendy Tripod But Can’t Find The Leash. But Don’t Want To Bother You Abt That Now. Enjoy The ‘Great Outdoors’
@@dianadom4742 I just use some paracord tied to the camera and a small carabiner to secure it to the boat.
Have you tried the aquaglide Chelan 120 ?
No I haven't... yet! :D Have you?
Yes very good. I see aquaglide are concentrating on their aqua park side of the business now and not the kayaks ☹️☹️
@@lesliejury1019 yeah just been reading about that in the FB group. It seems AG and Bote will come under the same team.
On the water how does it compare to a Gumotex n 2/1 ? I know you have used before.
On the water I'd say this is a bit more nimble, but it's bound to be given the Gumotex was so much bigger.
@@MoreThanJustaCleaner Cheers Carl I thought it might be slower, I kayak on the Thames and Portage is an issue
@@Kean086 if you want a lightweight easy to portage boat, consider the AG Deschutes 👍😊 and watch my videos with it.
@@MoreThanJustaCleaner Thanks for info Karl😊
@@Kean086 you're welcome 👍😁
I was going to ask about stability etc. but then I checked the price.... 😬😬😬. Shame because it looks like a good boat.
Yeah it's up there, price wise. And yes, very stable 👍😊
