    • @nedim_guitar
      @nedim_guitar 7 місяців тому

      That's kinda dumb 😂 But not really. Dynamic IR's that can be switched through a cab could be a thing of a future, or one can just use the UA Ox or perhaps dynamic IR's and play through an FRFR instead of a cab.

    • @bolotskih675

      @@nedim_guitar yeah, but I'd like to see someone try. You can switch inner connection type (parallel/serial), maybe some reactive parameters. Or bring on some new speaker type with variable specs. Idkn

      @@bolotskih675 A speaker cabinet that changes character with a switch. 5-6 types would be more than enough versatility. That would be really cool.

    Looks GREAT but ... (1) Who needs a 100w tube amp now (2) It's WAY too big and heavy to consider (3) Five channels is 2 too many (4) The price of this beast is probly x2 my budget (5) I won't bother watching any further videos :)

    • @boblong101
      @boblong101 7 місяців тому +1

      The problem is not the amp, it’s your understanding of how amps work
      1) Wattage isn’t just about volume. Who uses 100W watts? People who want the power section to remain clear when driven. This is particularly important in high gain and low-tune scenarios
      2) subjective and frankly kind of stupid point. People buy amps to play them, not lift them
      3) Not really, 4 of them have very distinct voicings. Especially on the 2 high gain channels. One is more suited for rhythm, the other leads
      4) nobody cares if you’re broke
      5) nobody cares what you watch

      It's like 3.5k€ in Europe (including VAT). Definitely not a cheap amp, but not unobtainable. I would imagine that the Mesa Mark VII would cost more than that, if they ever get around to releasing their amps in Europe again, considering it's like $3700 pre tax in the states :)

      Stoneham Amplification make seriously great amps that are, in my opinion, just as good and better than these for £2k and less.

      You can not swap out tubes. I have the 6L6 one and they let me know a jumper needs to be clipped internally to be able to swap tubes but it will void warranty.

    while this is the quintessence of a ENGL amp (ludicrously advanced technical capabilities that let you engeneer your tones literally like a engeneer - so, just so very very german) I imagine that these will be the nightmare for all amp technicians around the world who will have to work on one of these.
    I got a ENGL Thunder 50, so a very primitive amp compared to this, 2 channels plus boost, shared 3 band eq. Still my amp technician told be that ENGL just always are a bit over-engeneered and therefore more labour intense to work at - and therefore more expansive for me because I have to pay the guy for his time working on it. I imagine that changing out a Poti on this monster will be basically a full days work if not more.
