At least keep your information straight with the ancient texts you base yourself on... The second kosha is pranamaya kosha then mannomaya kosha. These short videos don't do justice to these ancient concepts

Sorry, I really hate to do this BUT:
Sadhguru, is the only yogi EVER, who mixes up the order of the koshas (sheaths/layers), spoken about by all other yogi's in history, as well as all the scriptures, where they are mentioned. The REAL order is:
    Annamaya Kosha (physical body)
Pranamaya Kosha (Energy Body, Vital Body)
    Manomaya Kosha (Mental Body)
    Vijnanamaya Kosha (Intellectual Body)
    Anandamaya Kosha (Bliss Body)
He reverses the Pranamaya Kosha and the Manomaya Kosha. In his view of things, and he is completely alone in this, the energetic causes the mental.
In yogic culture (and I don't consider Sadhguru being a part of this to be honest, he brags about never ever having read a book about yoga, or any scripture whatsoever), it is said that the MIND-stuff, causes the ENERGETIC repsonse, first the IDEA, the BLUEPRINT, then the energetic MANIFESTATION through pranamaya Kosha, from where it can form an influence upon the Physical, finally. This is on a deeper level inspired and WILLED and directed, by the Intellectual body, even MORE causal than the forementioned three bodies.
Sorry, I love your channel, but this is such a remarkable mistake that he makes over and over and over again, that makes me really question him, honestly.
Check other historic yogis on this:
    Swami Vivekananda,
    Ramakrishna Pramahamsa
Paramahamsa Yogananda and his entire lineage
    Swami Sivananda
    Sri Aurobindo
    Sri Krishnamacharya
    Baba Muktananda
And so on... It doesn't really matter which names I pull, Sadhguru is really on his own here. Remarkably enough, he doesn't come from any tradition whatsoever.

Well, either all other yogi's in history were wrong, or he just made a mistake. And therefor is not as ultimately enlightened as he'd like to pretend, I know it really sucks to consider this.
It doesn't take away the fact that he is a man of great realization and wisdom, with a great heart for humanity and the planet and there's still a lot of value in what he does.
The foremost scriptural reference for this is Taittiriya Upanishad, by the way, but it's mentioned in more texts.
Now I think about it there's also one other thing from traditional yogic knowledge that I've seen him mix up more often, and that is the 4 faculties of Mind, being Manas, Chitta, Buddhi and Ahamkara.
He has the Buddhi and Ahamkara correct, being intellect and ego, but mixes up the Manas and the Chitta. The Chitta is the mind STUFF, the memory bank, while Manas is the active processing sensory awareness.
Don't forget he makes it a central point to his teaching that he has never read one scripture ever. However I'm under the impression he started to make up for it after all, since suddenly he starts including those age old yogic terminologies in his teachings, unfortunately wrongly.
Actually I have respect for the fact that he attained a valuable realization that he wishes to share with humanity, just from practical (and thus also personal) experience, but he should've just kept it with that. That was elegant and more authentic.
In the meanwhile, however, he IS talking about these concepts to Western scientists, as well as lecturing the United Nations and so on, grasping them wrongly. I hate to say that he's really not some kind of second coming of the Christ who came to straighten a mistake that all yogi's in history have made. You know, these scriptures also come from DIRECT experiences of seers and have been repeated and confirmed for millennia. Here is the scriptural reference to Adi Shankara discussing it:
      ua-cam.com/video/xoA1pE4z-U0/v-deo.html
He basically founded hinduism and it's lineages, as we know it today, and is probably the greatest Advaita Vedanta commentator in known history.
Please consider that you are speaking for an entire millennia old history of invaluable knowledge and wisdom, and are expressing it wrongly, because of one person, who happens to speak against it. Research, research, research.
Here a very concise discourse on the 4 functions of mind, from someone who WAS actually schooled by a guru in the Himalayan tradition, and studies Sanskrit language and it's scriptures. Just one example, you can find basically the same info on any other serious and traditional yoga-website.
      www.swamij.com/fourfunctionsmind.htm
Here's wikipedia on the concept of the 5 bodies/sheaths/layers, called Panchakosha in Sanskrit:
      en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panchakosha
Please don't be impressed only by someone's personality, Truth is impersonal. I know he's out there on the stage like some kind of hero, wearing beautiful robes, proclaiming supernatural powers which he never demonstrates, but the more I check him out, the more I conclude he's especially extremely charismatic, beautiful, well-spoken, witty and a natural speaker. And that are really good qualities and they certainly testify of something, but not necessarily of buddha-hood...
People like Yogananda, Sivananda, Swami Rama, Swami Vivekananda, HAVE been actually reported to express abilities that are beyond the ordinary range of human functioning today, it might be worth studying them. Have you ever read Autobiography Of A Yogi? Did you know Swami Vivekananda memorized the first 10 volumes of the Encyclopedia Brittanica in one night? Did you know Swami Rama could stop his heart from beating at will? How about Sadhguru? He claims things like he can "download" the entire cosmos in his little finger, whatever that means, but has he shown that? I've read his books, as well as probably checked every video of him on UA-cam, just as I did with so many other yogic personalities of today, 20th and 19th century, as well as the original and old stuff and these are my main conclusions. And it's not about powers in the end, but you shouldn't talk about them, only show them. Strip away the show and all the nice colors and I see a cool guy with great humanitarian projects, but he's not exactly Jesus Christ okay? He's a very good business man and politician.
People above commenting that I should get a life, should go get one themselves. Because this IS important, and I DO care. It's not so much about yoga as it is about Humanity and Truth, with all further respect for Sadhguru and his rightful place in the grand scheme of things and human evolution, which I don't intend to deny. But I cannot let him say this. He's a very very very cool guy with a lot of self-awareness, but has no expertise whatsoever in yogic philosophy/psychology, Samkhya and Vedanta. He's cheaply and wrongly borrowing these ideas from yogic culture, to get himself into the center of the yogic arena (where there should be others speaking), and adopt a tradition that isn't actually his, and that is a gross mistake.
      Thanks for your understanding.
