Sigh... I really miss the golden age of taolu when there was actually a variety of combos and moves. When we had uniqueness.

Chang Zhizhao is probably one of the more unique top athletes there are these days when it come to his changquan: ua-cam.com/video/UGwdHyX0KbY/v-deo.html . His daoshu's creative too. Unfortunately his gunshu, and everyone else's is pretty samey these days. I feel qianghsu and jianshu have continued to be very creative though.
Also check out this amazing changquan from testing in Gansu for the next China Taolu Nationals: ua-cam.com/video/2P36AXlW7PE/v-deo.html . One of the more interesting changquan forms I've seen in a long time

Согласен. Спортсмены таолу стали намного сильнее, но почти не отличаются между собой. Действительно скучно.

The Chinese staff Gunshu and Nangun differ from Okinawan kobudo. With the Chinese staff forms, you hold the staff more like a spear or a bat were as in Okinawan Kabudo, You hold the staff more in the center striking with both ends.

What's the other bo staff one where they do monkey king style? The staff for that one seems much stronger than this one because they can stand on it and stuff.

I think the monkey style staff is metal and gunshu is wood, so that's explain why it stronger than this.

Yeah they typically use much thicker waxwood staffs or metal staffs for monkey style.
Nowadaways for competition they also use carbon fiber staffs for nontraditional styles since they’re resistant to shattering and can be thinner/lighter for more speed.
BTW, technically bos are Japanese style staffs where the the staff is not tapered (same width all the way through). Most Chinese staffs are tapered, where one end is thicker than the other. You can refer to these as gun (the Chinese word for staff) or just refer them as staffs since that’s more general
