I love that despite his "gamble", he's always made incredibly strategic plans that play on human nature and psychology to skew his odds in his favor; such that any "gamble" he makes is almost guaranteed to succeed. Someone who plays their cards that well will seem blessed by luck, yet is is seldom the case. To cover all bases that well, it would be strange if luck did not favor them. Not to mention the Stonehearts trial of him was also skewed. He already made a "bet" with Jade, and made himself collateral, so him being taken off the Stonehearts would have been to her detriment. And by collaborating with Topaz, he had essentially secured 2 votes out of 9, which meant he only needed 3 to win. Opal was the one who appointed Aventurine to the case and was all about results; so Aventurine who had secured such a result, was worth more to milk his success than to appoint a new Stoneheart and risk an uncertain new partner. So Opal was also in the bag. Knowing the personalities of the other members, he knew he could bet on some supporting him and earning the other 2 votes, as only 3 were likely to go against him (,Sugilite and Obsidian due to being sadists, and Sapphire for him breaking the oath). The crux was the 3 neutral parties, Agate who couldn't be reached had Obsidian vote for her, Amber who abstained and let Pearl vote for them, and Pearl themself. SO it all fell down to How Pearl would vote. Knowing Obsidian with Agate's proxy vote made it unfair, he could guess that Pearl, an Intellitron who values fairness, would also cast a proxy vote in his favor to even things out. That meant it was already almost guaranteed he would be pardoned, since 5 of them were likely to side with him. It really was a farce. Clever little gambler deserved to win and he did.
Yeah, it's very obvious from how he encouraged Ratio to go do his business after his betrayal. Aventurine: Have you forgotten, Doctor? You betrayed me. Go, do what you must.
@@izu1624 People give Welt too much credit for what he has actually accomplished, at least in HSR. If he is oh so mighty then Phantillia and Sunday should have been a breeze, yet the prior was dealt with by Jing Yuan and the latter actually trapped him into Ena's dream. I like the guy, but I don't get why people glaze him so hard like they are trying to make you invest in crypto.
@@necasa4919probably because of honkai 3rd I don’t know the exact scale of his power since I haven’t played it but as a herrscher I would imagine it’s because it’s not his story and he would rather see the astral express and their allies defeat the threat than himself
@@ishenews612 Nah, tbh while I love Welt and all, even in Hi3 he was on the much weaker side of Herrschers, and even the absolute strongest characters in Hi3 are just around Emanator Level. Honestly, the coolest thing about Welt was ALWAYS that he was the weakest, completely outclassed by all his opponents but using his resourcefulness and tactics to punch upwards and hold his own. Him having the power to deal with these characters and just holding back for whatever reason would be... kinda lame, and also not really anything he was ever capable of before.
Nice, time to review the Penacony questline for 100500th time in a row, because I liked the atmosphere of this world maybe a bit too much. Aventurine is an interesting cookie, though a self-destructive one. I really like the hidden trust to die for dynamic that Ration and him have, it's one of the best duos in the game in terms of wit and straight up enjoyment for the player. Though got to say, that a lot of points you showed, sadly, get lost in the tedious writing that bores the player and bombards with an enormous amount of useless information and way over the top empty build-up, but imho this story-line is well-written, so I'm glad that you made this video.
Thanks! Glad you like it. I'd say the whole plot of Penacony makes a lot more sense on 2nd playthrough. I think it's by design that it'd confuse us the first time we played it.
@@pianime94 I agree with you on that, though considering the lack of "2nd playthrough" options in HSR as it is a one time-choice game leaves a bittersweet taste on the plotline here (Though maybe with the upcoming story "refresh' option the situation will get better). Sure there were a lot of HI3 references and reveals that shocked and excited the playerbase but alas it made the story even more confusing and boring in my opinion. Obviously dissecting stories is always fun, not gonna take it from anyone, but I'd love a simpler approach in terms of storytelling in this game, just because of the mechanics it has in the first place.
Yeah rumor has it Opal will be in some point in 3.0 plus given amphoreous will likely end up being more well known the IPC will definitely attempt another Jarilo-VI on them
both get confiscated, in which both topaz and jade can now barge in and make demands to the family by abusing a legal loophole, which was probably part of the plan created by aventurine.
He's from the "Strategic" investment department for a reason.
That's why his title is Aventurine of Stratagem mhmm

I think Aventurine's smile as he calls Ratio traitor shows, that even Ratio's betrayal was part of the plan that both knew about.
Yeah I thought that "betrayal" being planned was made obvious at some point?

22:46 BTW, Welt was about to make Aventurine dissapear with a black hole. Acheron saved Penacony not from Aventurine but from Welt's black hole
As much as I love Welt that is a cap

He is a king after all.
Argenti is the definitive depiction of a Deus ex machina, istg
And I love him for it.
I wonder will we have another ipc scheme at armopheus. Since its basically a new world, a new market

What happen with tpaz and jade cornerstone? How did they recovered them from the family?
