This is insane. Why can’t it just be flat but swim like a normal fish. The fact that’s it’s eyes and mouth are on the same side is pretty crazy. These creatures are so interesting

I am here because of English Heritage of cooking turbot a l'Anglais🤣 oh dear this fish is unique but I wont eat this. a lil disgusting since it doesn't have scales. it is said that fish workout scales will absorb all toxin in the water so easily then it can be dangerous if consumed 🥺🤭
It starts out looking like an ordinary fish, with one eye on each side of the head and swimming upright. As it matures, one eye moves to the other side and it begins to swim in its side. The bottom goes white. Sometimes you can see where the eye used to be on the bottom (white side).

One of my favorite fish. Delicious and unmatched flavor/texture among its kind. King of the flat fish. I recommend cooking it on the bone as steaks

Yeah for sure fluke. Related to turbot but less robust, more delicate texture to the meat
