This “lost record” needs to be released so badly. I also want to see a Sea Scouts complete works vinyl box set with liner notes and photos like the Numero Group box sets. This needs to happen. The members of Echo is Your Love told me to buy Beacon of Hope from their distro over 15 years ago and I still listen to it regularly. Such an amazing band and album.
I've got the whole album but due to being unreleased, can't share it.. worth asking the band members for it or say how much you think it should be released, even in cassette rip format...
Bruh Tim why are you so mysterious? You upload some stuff then make it private... We want your music out! Some of it is literally unavailable. Like Bird Blobs albums, Sea Scouts... Heck there are three Coconuts tracks that aren't on the album and the only way to listen to them is by obscure UA-cam search and one of those three tracks isn't anywhere at all! I'm telling you man, we wanna listen to your shit, make it happen! Sincerely, Your long time fan
I love Tim Evans stuff too. I only just found out 'Tim Evans Band' is now "The Misanthropes" and I missed a few of their shows the past year??!! Gahhh!!!
This is one of the tracks from the final, third, unreleased Sea Scouts album, recorded to four track cassette in 2003 I believe at my bandmate's house, on the corner of Malvern and Glenferrie Rds. My Technics tape deck was destroyed in the process of making tape loops for one of the tracks :) I was sitting outside during the recording process and was blown away at the time. The only way to hear those tracks otherwise was during live shows of the era. One of my favourites is the cover of 'Always On My Mind' :)
Yes, their engineer Lee Ritson and only one or two other members had copies of the four track cassette and it has never been released officially. The copy I know about also cuts off during the final song, but that's kind of symbollic and works artistically for the end of the final record.. leave them wanting more kind of thing.. the end can only be played back in your head/memory/imagination..
@@synthmalicious7541 I was at the recording for it, it was recorded at my band's jam house (Raped by Noise, Paul's house, a member of A Slow Loris) on the corner of Malvern and Glenferrie Road in Malvern. Above a pharmacy. They used my cassette tape deck to do some tape loops for it - and destroyed the deck in the process :) I listened to the album several times, Lee Ritson and Alex Pope's copies on the rare times I was in Tasmania after the recording. I have since managed to get a copy from Monika. It's an amazing album and really sad it was never released. Was slated to be released on a string of 7"s potentially also I heard.

Oh god. Such a sick song. Want it remastered so much. The tune is awesome. Remind me of placebo or some sort. IDK honestly.

Is there really a last record?
