I read this poem often in the early 2000s and it has played a part in my leaving religious institutions for good. We have miles and miles of bike trail where I live and I see a lot of nature when I ride and I have always felt God's presence riding on the trails more than I have in any church. Nice to hear you put this poem to music.
Yay!!! I love this one...know it "by heart".... Thanks Rick, for the wonderful suggestion! Thanks ever so much, B....for the most LOVELY song you made! Clapping here...and doing a little Bobolink dance to celebrate! ;) Emily is such an inspiration....always....
Amen, Brother Michael, amen. I like the sound of that choir you have propped up on your knee. Whoa, let's here it again! Oh, yeah, beats the hell out of anything in second place. Man, you've got that guitar working, and then some. Ring, ring dem bells. ~ Mark
+manriq47 THat chior is a new used Epiphone Masterbuilt circa 2005. I found it (or did it find me?) at Guitar Center...put it on layaway...took it off...then went back and bought it...sometimes you just know:). Speakin' of guitars...how is your beauty coming along....picking it up soon? All the best from the Girls and me to You and Karen and Paul....Merry Christmas!!!
+reliablebow Well make sure to hang on to that beauty. You sound great together. Mine's still in the process of being built. I get regular updates with pictures (kind of feel like a papa-to-be looking at pictures of the ultrasounds). I told Steve to take his time and not feel rushed. I'm thinking late winter or early spring. Wonderful knowing it is coming along. Love this posting of Guy Clark's song. An amazing artist, Verlon, is. I did notice he is playing a good looking Guild. Thanks for sharing. Pass along my warmest wishes to the gals and hugs all around. Mark
Hopefully you had a very nice church service😉. I’m doing good today. One of my band mates invited us over to his little orchard for a picnic and jam. We had church too! How are you?
@@reliablebow Sounds like you had a very nice day, B! I am okay here. Haven't been able to get my kite off the ground, but listening to my friends' songs keeps me going. Hope you recorded some of that jam to share!
Being a bit of an uncultured open mouth breather I have to confess to ignorance of Emily D's work, but your work, on the other hand, is beautiful musical poetry to me Michael.
