Gotta say that Knights Kingdom II is a much worse theme than this one imho. KK II had some nice shields but that's about it, while this 2013 Castle theme had some of the best looking minifigures.
To me this is the only set of the wave with personality. An unique desing with an intention behind it. The gatehouse was too similar to escape from dragons prison, and the castle it's just... meh, to me. I don't think they had a clear vision, and they just slapped a few castle elements. Btw I actually prefer some of the older minifigs. While the priting is definitely very detailed, they feel juniorized. Not sure why, but it doesn't happen to me with the 2007 line and kingdoms (Btw, yes, I am posting a similar comment to the original upload xd)
@@FitBricks idk, maybe it's the colour scheme (I'm not a fan of that shade of blue), or the pattern being two sides instead of four squares. Or maybe its just nostalgia hehehe
So bit of insider news. We are getting more Lord of the Rings sets BEYOND the Barad Dur coming out in 2024. I can't confirm it will be more expensive LotR sets or whether it will be a system theme. My guess is system. If LotR comes back, I will have to stop collecting castle. I just can't afford collecting so many themes, and I feel like there is enough overlap between castle and LotR where I should choose one over the other.
It was strange going from Kingdoms which could've continue and suddenly go to this plain castle faction. Lego should have taken a break and could've brought this a year of two later with better builds especially that boring Lions castle. Also LOTR/Hobbit was so good

Keep filming about lego castle and rare fantasy sets. Cool video
definitely wish Lego would make another castle theme, most of the themes we have now I personally find boring and feel like every set is a redo.
Hopefully Legos nostalgia wave will fruit into a new theme

Understandable I have friends that feel the same way. I’d definitely would check it out since I didn’t collect lord of the rings back then.
