ooh i bloody love this song! ellie said in an interview this was her fave song she's ever written. i have to agree. although the beats and general tone of this album is a lot darker, i think there are some glimpses of uplifting messages in the album if you listen closely ;)

This album *is* a bit more grim - but you know, I think she does it well. There's still a sense of hope, of life beyond the current distress. Unlike, say, the narrator of most of Lana del Rey's songs, Ellie seems to recognize that things are wrong, but that means she can actually fix it.
The lyrics are like poetry. The beat/music itself seems almost timeless. Her voice is amazing as always. I just love everything about this song.
