MER = Multiple Ejector Rack, usually carrying 6 weapons but can be loaded with 4 or 5. TER = Triple Ejector Rack, carries 3 bombs other weapons.

I know this is an old-ish vídeo, and that most likely this has been pointed out already, but just a small coment... That paint scheme is the one of the 3rd attack fighters squadron of the argentine navy, which flew "locally designated" A-4Q... Nice vid btw!
Is it just me, or is some of the most accurate bombing and most consistent ripple bombing I've seen in a GR video from the A-4 here? I don't want to throw shade, but I'm having a feeling some Viggen pilots just got served.

I spent a whole afternoon trying to get the files into the correct format and area, having never done a mod before, but persistence won the day and I finally got it!
I think you can use the AWRS to set how many bomblets you want to drop in one pass. So if you turn it off they will drop as long as you hold the button, but if you set the AWRS, they will only drop as many as you specify. Quite useful for splitting your payload into multiple passes

My school bus stop was in front of the US Naval Academy Chapel, where an F-4 and A-4 sat on display.........c. 1965. We were tormented by the sheer height above ground of the cockpits; we were dyin' to get a look!!! This A-4E is like the resolution of 55+ years of burnin' curiosity :) Come on, Phantom mod!!!!!! The closest we got to the cockpits was to climb inside the engine cavities, but met walls on the fore end.
I've really appreciated this aircraft from its days in the Blue Angels. I've seen them 50+ times, from Phantom to Skyhawk to Hornet...... and every time, for some inexplicable reason, I get a lump in the throat feeling just seeing a man with tens of thousands of pounds of thrust strapped to his back, operating it with the deftness of a neurosurgeon. Their annual salute to the Naval Academy graduates was second only to Christmas in terms of the day you looked forward to all year.
While their Phantoms literally shook the ground, especially when the whole team was climbing for a near-rendezvous miles above, the Skyhawks were incredibly agile. This is one of history's underappreciated aircraft....... what a blast it is to fly. And FREE!?!?!?!?!?!
Finally, what this beast can carry on a single engine is just astonishing....... this also applicable to the F-16.

@@Gremlinke96 Yeess.. So excited for the intruder.. maybe more than I was for the F-14 lol Honestly Im just super pumped to have a side by side cockpit that I can fly in VR. There is something really cool about being able to look over and see what your WSO is doing, instead of having him behind you

Since a recent update you can now also use the computer mode. Prep all switches as for a manual bomb run, but put the mode selector to CMPTR, put the radar to ATG. A horizontal line scanning down will appear on the radar display. point your nose at the target until the line stops. Then just press and hold the bomb release switch and pull up into level flight, as you overfly the target the computer will release the load at the perfect time.
You can even go into a climb and toss the bombs at the target that way, or toss the bombs while inverted, it's magic.

Nice vid - haven't flown the A-4 since its initial release and was dropping munitions using best guess aiming. Will try these profiles

But I think it has the same effect as other regular iron bombs in DCS.
Does the A4E comes with RWR, chaffs & flares? That along with telemetric Air-to-ground radar put this plane suited for ground attack for up to late 1980s or even 1990s missions
No RWR ine the E
It has a RHWS, basically an audio only RWR. It's basic but with the system armed and volumes up you'll be able to hear if a radar tracks and launches on you (manual specifies SAMs so it could theoretically work against airborne radars but I'm not sure).

Great video! I need help, when I released the bombs, they don't explode. Why could that be??? it is like I released all of them like dumping them, not "launching them"

13:43 was it a plane signal or censor?
It was a plane signal there is a buzzer whenever munitions are dropped. It helps keep track of how many bombs you have dropped but isn't very useful with dispensers.

Anyone else have a problem with level flight snake-eye ripples from the center rack exploding on drop and destroying the jet. Happens to me almost every time. It seems to be the 3rd or 4th bomb to drop off the rack
Yeah me too, today I've tried 18 times and 19 times I've exploded in mid air
Paolo Sacchetti I’ve basically stopped carrying snake eyes on the center rack, but I have noticed that if you are pulling back slightly on the stick at release they usually won’t blow up but that makes aiming them a bit harder

Does the computer mode work with snakeye bombs?
My only problem with this plane i've had is its very hard to kill. It seems to have no damage model as of yet, which would be ok (I understand its being developed without so much as donations), however it seems quite unbalanced due to it being able to tank upwards of 4 missiles! Is there any way to fix this?
Not at the momoent, but most planes start out like this TBH, I imagine it will be fixed.
Damage models in DCS - It can tank 4 SAMs in the face but a single burst of 23mm will kill you instantly :)
Dont know if they can complete the damage model without the SDK which only ED partners are allowed to use. If they can improve it they will improve it though ! :)
