Morgan Dollar Deep Mirror Proof Like (DMPL) coins are worth 3-4 times more than their normal counterparts. Lets discuss DMPL coins, what they are, how they are minted, and how to avoid getting scammed / ripped off on EBAY! Minted from 1878 thru 1903, and then again in 1921, the Morgan Dollar is the #1 most collectible coin in the market. Every coin show you attend, you will find cases of them. That is for a reason! A set of dies at the US Mint can be used to strike hundreds of thousands of coins, but eventually, those die wear out and they are replaced. The first few dozen coins struck with those brand new dies can produce what is called DMPL, or Deep Mirror Proof Like coins. These coins have a mirror background, and raised frosty appearing features. Then the next few dozen strikes lead to semi-proof like coins - And then the tens of thousands of coins after that are just normal luster that you would expect. It is for this reason that DMPL Morgans are so valuable - Only the first few dozen coins struck with a die will appear as DMPL, that is why they are worth 3-4 times the value of non DMPL Morgan Dollars. DMPL Morgan Dollars can be found with all mint marks including Carson City (the most collectible by far). This is the story of the DMPL Morgan Dollars, how you should buy them, and what to avoid!

Yeah. I live outside US/UK/EU so I have bought a number of items off Ebay, and I've noticed coins with really bad photos in spite of a glowing description, that I just couldn't justify buying. The problem is that I wouldn't have looked if I wasn't interested in such a coin, and it turns into a waste of time. Very frustrating.
    Thanks for the chat, mate.

Yes Sir. There are so many EBAY listings where people take a picture, turn the contrast to MAX, and then try to sell it as a DMPL coin. I mean, they turn the contrast up so high, that the fields look "black" - It is so obvious. I just hate to see people, interested in the coin business, getting ripped off on stuff like this. Once you get ripped off in the hobby, you are likely to just give up, never return. Thanks for the comment, and thank you for watching my video!
