not to question your skill or tackle or both, but if others use jigs that are meant to kick which from my understanding, you say doesn't work as well as a magic metal, then why do they catch more fish than you on this trip?

The only reason it looks like the other jigs work better is because more people are fishing the other jigs and not the Magic Metal jigs, both work, but for this kind of up and down fishing I feel the Magic Metal jigs work better.

Since I am now convinced, what weights do you think would work for surface fishing and yo yo-ing

for yellowtail fishing at Colonet you need to use the jigs yo-yo style, the fish are down deep.
