I started watching these videos of yours after watching Hamilton for the first time this year, falling in love with it, and wanting to hear other people's opinions of the songs and their historical accuracy. Nonstop is one of my absolute favorite songs of the soundtrack and play, which makes this one of the most anticipated reaction videos I've been looking forward to watching! Keep up the awesome work, man!
I think the climax of this song is my favorite part of Hamilton. The ominous foreshadowing of "not throwing away my shot"/"just you wait" gives me goosebumps.
Yes!! I really like when burr says why do you write like your running out of time, or why do you always say what you believe, or why do you assume your the smartest in the room, because it really shows Hamilton's character
23:50 YES! I applaud Szin so much on the art for that frame. From I first saw it I always felt like the face along with the tone of voice was like the most condescending thing I've ever seen. It's like he's making a complete mockery of her and feels no remorse about it. Like the nastiest way to rub salt in her wounds. Not speaking historically, because idk anything about that, but I'd have felt like complete garbage if I was Eliza in that moment.
I love the fact that of the 5 schlyer sisters Eliza is the only one to NOT elope! I just recently finished Washington’s biography (talk about a slodge!) Hamilton really was the only one to understand him and Not betray or disappoint him, He fell out with or was betrayed by nearly all his allies from the war and his first term. 🙂
@@exoticcats6119 i'm sorry i keep meaning to answer this and then get busy and forget all over again. Jefferson and Madison helped convince him to run a second term, then Jefferson helped open and was the owner or co-owner of a newspaper that continually slandered his name. Jefferson, no matter how much evidence he was given believed that Washington was being lied to and mislead by Hamilton and that there was NO Way these could actually be Washington's views! with a "that poor man." attitude. Henry Knox who was the Secretary of War took 6 months to respond to a summons for (i think) the whiskey rebellion and pissed him off to the point that he never spoke to him again. by the end of his life he agreed with Northern Views and disliked most of his fellow Southerners and hoped that Slavery would just eventually Go Away, but it was always going to be someone else's problem. It's been long enough that I actually can't remember what Madison did.

That's really interesting - apparently we all got into through different songs. My gateway drug was "You'll be back" (I only clicked on the animatic because it said "this is pretty gay" on the thumbnail lol)
@@cosmictitan2166 That's pretty cool :D I also had a friend who was into it, but she never said a word. Was embarrassed I guess. And then three years later we were hanging out and I mentioned that I'd kinda started listening to Hamilton a little, and how I had the first few lines stuck in my head. You know, "How does a bastard, orphan..." - and I barely got that far before she took over and did the whole first verse flawlessly. That was a surprise, to say the least. We ended up watching it together when it came out on Disney and I was really glad she'd finally "come out" so we could enjoy it together. Much more fun if you have a friend :)
You should check out the book called “my dear Hamilton” (by: Stephanie dray and Laura kamoie). It’s a historical fiction book, written in the format of elizas journal/diary. I know that probably sounds lame. But I find it interesting, it tells more about the schuyler family. And tells more about elizas “dedication” to Alexander. At the end of the book, it breaks down what bit was more “creative writing” and what facts were involved. Idk, it’s a fun read and interesting.
The federalist papers werent what the Federalist party believed. The Federalist papers' goal was just to justify the creation of a Constitution, whereas the Federalist party mostly support merchants, centralized government, and the North. Madison supported the state power and the more agagrian and Southern ideals of Jeffersonians (or Democratic Republican).
AFAIK szin, the animator had to Really put effort into animating Act 1 since there was so much pressure and it was a struggle for her since she didn't really want to spend her whole time on it and dedicate her channel to Hamilton. So there's no Act 2 by her, unfortunately. But I'm curious to see what other animators you'll find. Thanks for doing these, Brady. I love your History talk :)
The first time I watched your Hamilton videos I immediately fell in love and watched everything you had about Hamilton and French war and I subscribed! Your amazing thank you!
It's my favorite song from Hamilton and i just love this animatic, it's so well done with the ending showing the second act, i love it!! Thaniks for all your comments and for sharing your knowledge on it
As a history fan, I wanted to say I appreciate your enthusiasm for not just the history but also the character of those who made it. We often forget that these were real people, not perfect, and more than just names in our text books.
Hearing your break downs of the videos is so fun, it reminds me of what I learned in high school U.S. history, and yes I did have to read at least one of the Federalist papers in that class, not really that fun of an experience but my teacher had a reason for making us read it, he wanted to make a point of the beginning to laws and why they are written in the context and way they are written today.

Honestly, James Madison is my favorite person from back then. Horrible president though. Some of the federalist papers are credited to Hamilton, but 10 or 11 of them are contested to be written by James Madison. Another thing is that Jefferson convinced Madison that the Bill of Rights was necessary. That's why Madison went from Hamilton's man to Jefferson's. I have multiple books about him.
