Instead of "Thanks for dedicating thousands of hours to educate people for free," we say "skip the shit." "The shit" is WHY I SUBSCRIBED TO THIS CHANNEL IN THE FIRST PLACE. When I feel good psychologically about what I'm watching, it makes it easier to learn and absorb the info. I remember many of Film Riot's videos over other people just sitting there and talking. Film Riot is "an experience" not just a tutorial.

In my humble opinion as a novice movie maker, I had the impression it was the best cinematography and color grading was flawless. Undoubtedly the best production of Triune Films on script, acting and cinematography.

Having worked with both Premiere & Final Cut Pro X, I can say that FCPX has great options for color grading due to it's design. I wish Premiere would upgrade their user interface to be more modern.

ok bro, you had me on the "snorting pixi stick" bit. that scream was straight out of home alone when Kevin puts the spider on Marv's face. You had me rolling man… but of course, I was Rolling LIKE A GANGSTA!!!
These films are done correctly and what is absolutely amazing, and I mean absolutely mind boggling is how asinine so many of the other videos are in this respect: they show you from the beginning visually the effect they are going to provide instruction for. Every other video and this is insane but every other video just has a description with a gazillion steps to follow until the end when you finally realize what the effect is...and discover it is not what it's not really what you were looking for....obviously I now forward through to the ends but even then they often don't show truly what the effect will be. It is the most simple thing about teaching...show what you are going to do, how you are going to do this...and then do it....incredibly nobody else seems to do this..obviously there have to be some people but I have watched a lot of videos and have yet to see another which does...thanks for doing this simple step for instruction

Ah, I'm just so thankful for Film Riot. Even though I only have Final Cut Pro and Motion, this still helps me so incredibly much. Film Riot is the best. Just the absolute best.

I got really excited to see a Davinci Resolve workflow, and then my dreams were crushed. Still a great video and it really shows you don't need the cost powerful colour corrector to get amazing results. Keep up the great work Film Riot.

Also: Great episode. I did not expect this many layers of color correction on the footage. But then again, I come from an audio background and definitely run these amounts of effects on any audio track for a decent mix. :)
I'm not sure why, but black and white Ryan has a larger head:body ratio than color Ryan...

try changing quality, otherwise waiting will prob solve

Awesome episode! Loved the Gangsta' parts. One thing that "pulled me out of the moment" as you would say: There was no "Pixy Dust" in your stache..... Everyone knows you can't snort the stix without getting dust all up in your stache!

That was quite possibly one of the most dangerous stunts I've ever seen on Film Riot. WHAT HAPPENED TO SAFETY MR. CONNOLLY, WHAT HAPPENED??
I love colour grading, it's a lot of fun but my issue is that I always tend to push too far with it and it comes out overdone. I think a great thing to do when you grade is to do it, leave the project for a couple of days and then come back to it and see if you still agree with yourself. Of course having the time to do that almost never happens

Looking good in black and white. Loved the color grading technique and a little intimidated by how many different effects it takes to get the look you are hoping for. I assume most camera footage cannot handle all the effects and still hold up in post?

I think you guys go a little overboard with coloring... it does look a little more dramatic and cool, but at the same time it looks like it was made by a bunch of 20 year olds who wanted to make something flashy and cool... basically it looks kind of cheap when you overdo it.
