Considering the heath issues and challenges he's been overcoming for more than a decade, I'd say he looks darn great and, best yet, he sings and performs as awesome as ever!
It's always wonderful to see a live clip of Hal Ketchum. He is one of my favorite singers of any genre and a great performer. I can only imagine what it has been like to deal with MS. Love this guy!
Now and again Hal makes into Gruene Hall but I haven't seen him since he opened for Emmylou last summer. Haven't heard or read that he's playing anywhere, either. I would enjoy seeing and hearing him again, myself. Sorry I can't help you.
I used to listen to Hal's music in 90's. I forgot about him until station 95.1 on Warren Ohio played "Past The Point Of Rescue" and I'm like where has he been. Looked him up on internet. Shocked to hear of his illness. And when he had to stop performing I realized I will never be able to see a show. I always thought what s gorgeous man he is. I'm very sad now. I wish him, Andrea and his family to have some more wonderful times. Wonderful song writer and singer who is greatly missed.
Kenny Grimes on guitar with Hal Ketchum at Gruene Hall opening for Emmylou Harris. Ketchum and Grimes working together was magic. Hal's vocal chops were right on and Grimes guitar work was excellent.
I just discovered Hal Ketchum.....and country music after playing southern rock and blues rock for over 30 years in bands. Fabulous. I can't really find any information on him though.......anyone have any sources they can point me to....bio or something.
I'll be damn I didn't know he had that horrible disease, my little sister passed in January because of it, she was only 55 but being born with Down syndrome it progressed quickly, I will never understand why she had to suffer with that stuff. God bless you Hal
would like to know if he is currently performing anywhere in Texas in 2013. I live in California and am more than willing to travel to Texas to listen to play. I know he wasn't touring because of health reasons so I doubt he will make it back out here. Please let me know where I can look online or so kindly list any 2013 dates. Thank you so much!
Hal hasn't lost one step. That voice is as golden as ever. It's too bad radio forgot about him.

Nice video. Hal's great. Wish you would have included some shots of the other lead guitarist; he sounds really good.
One of Hal's best. Too bad Alzheimer's got a hold of him. I hope he goes peacefully when his time comes.
