To all those who say "It should be played faster": this is played exactly right with no frenzy, with no overboard energy or haste. I cannot imagine how you want these pieces to be played: "This is not soccer!" Diane Hidy is playing these Sonatinas in the best and most tasteful and delicate way I have heard so far: with passion (so far I heard only very mechanical playing), without overdoing (so far I heard a lot of stomping on the keys and absurd/needless staccato) and first and foremost NEATLY. Kudos to Diane.
I thoroughly agree with your comment. I am going through her entire series of Op. 36 Clementi Sonatinas and indeed this is the best - a pleasure to listen to - all others I've heard sound like bad students. Diane absolutely gets it right. Too bad there isn't much posted of her playing - I have seen (and heard) her rendition of Debussy's First Arabesque. It is thoroughly exquisite, and completely recommendable.
This piece is a rite of passage for all classically trained pianists! I remember after learning and performing Clementi is when my teacher then started me on Beethoven and Mozart. :) milestone.
00:00 Con Spirito
03:58 Andante con Espressione
06:14 Allegro Vivance
learning this now >.< you definitely need a lot of patience, but it's worth it. Clementi has great sonatinas
I mastered this quite a quite ago, and I love it 😍
Practice is all you need :) Its not challenging
I actually ended up finishing it and playing it for quite a few concerts and exams over the years , goes to show perseverance is worth it! :)

Vico Terzi Concordo. Il tempo di questa esecuzione è nei normali tempi per questo tipo di sonatine.
Thank you...
I think the whole asian competitive vibe tends to speed this stuff up.
