@@zxr-me6dk Lol. You are looking up the wrong guy. He got his start in the computer industry (how I met him) and owns Kaplan Computers. The pictures above that wiki article on Google are wrong. Lmao.
Wow, I used to own 2 Capra VB 250 bikes, I have yet to ride anything like it. Very fast but the handling was just fantastic, it whipped a few newer water pumpers. These bikes cost $4800 each in 1978, just a superb bike. Thanks for showing it.
MONTESA.👍👏🤪
IN 1975 all my older Neighbors had Montesa 250 V75 MX,Bultaco Pursang, Ossa Phantom ,I had Cr 250 I was 14.Montesa owner always win @ his home track he was like 19 .
Badass! Brings back memories of us crazies riding the most worn-out Montesa 250 Cappra, thinking a late '60's model, it took a long downhill and 2nd gear bump start(kick shaft broke off) to light that tired engine off but would always start easy when hot. It still hauled a$$ even with a worn engine, a friend bought it later on and did a complete overhaul on it and it was one sweet machine after that! That was circa 1973-76.
It actually purrs! Really. Over the years, I've heard people say that their vehicle purrs...but this one actually does. I've never heard a 2 stroke idle like that. It's awesome. The machine is beautiful.
Brings back good memories. I had one just like it, I found it lightly used in Pasadena, TX around 1980. This big boy was a monster and a blast to ride. Sucker got stolen from my uncle's property and that was the end of it. It looks like this one is missing muffler which it really needs to help with the sound quality.
I rode for Hodie Cycles in Pasadena, we pumped out quite a few of those and I had 5. A fire burned down the shop and I lost an engine in that. Ended up giving them all away decades later.
La calidad del Sonido y la entrega de potencia, porque las Cappra siempre les gusto ir bien revolucionadas, ua-cam.com/video/Lg3iemX3TwI/v-deo.htmlsi=dmUERpfHzcgiT8ns&t=1
I have this same bike at home in my garage, I bought it new in 1977 from Steve's Cycle Palace in Anchorage Alaska. I remember passing a very fast open expert rider up there on a straight away on his 465 Yamaha YZ to take the lead in the race, after the race he stopped by by place in the pits and said " That Monteeesa Hauls A$$ Don't it" It is still a pretty quick little bike! Viva Montesa!
Montesa a true power house dirt bike and this one is very nice to say the least. Montesa and Bultaco made in Spain were amazing bikes. !! Thank you Kaplan Cyvles for such stunning Montesa and thank you for another excellent video. God bless all of you and God bless the USA. !! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Beautiful vintage MX bike, that definitely hauls ass, with an aggressive powerband. 😲....I've never heard of Montessa, before I started watching this channel.
I had the 250 Cappra VB and I could embarrass my friend on his Husqy 360 Automatic. Of course my friend on his Maico 490 would destroy me in return after about 100 feet when he finally got enough traction! Anyway, the Cappras are all torque monsters and handled supremely well for their era.
Iv owned 2 montessa bikes an enduro H6 360 and a MX 360 CAPPRA amazing bikes from the 70s i bought mine new from Lyall O'Brien in West Geelong i even passed my licence on the H6 360 enduro because it was registered and RWC
Im very supportive of gun rights, but man. You need a handgun, a knife and brass knuckles all hanging on your belt in order to sell motor cycles in the suburbs of New England? At some point it isn't about rights, it is a delusional paranoia
En el minuto . 2:00 no es su ralentí estaba sin gasolina .por eso suena tan floja. Pero buen video Kaplan . En aquellos años España tubo buenas bicicletas .de Motocross.Bultacos Pursang. Ossas. Fhantoms. Montesas. Capras. Antes que .Japón empezará a ARRASAR.👍🤔
😂🤣 @ the taser! I recently got tasered by two police here in Western Australia 🇦🇺 i had blood 🩸 poisoning from sepsis so i was doing weird shit so they took me out which is fair enough. That was the start of 1 month in hospital 🏥 and numerous operations to save my life. Anyways, thanks Kap. 😍👊🏼🙏🏼
Hey Ken do you reckon you good do a video on a DR650 please? I can't see that you have done one before. And it would be a great bike to see what upgrades you could do to it to make more power and better suspension for a great adventure bike. That would be awesome and to see what numbers you could do on your dyno. machine.
Soon as you started bike i heard just what you said cr 500 it sounds better then my 87 yz490 Way better then 360 mx or 185 with 250 carb on it with port work .
i knew a kid growing up that had a montesa, felt bad for him ,every time he rode it something broke and he would have to wait months for parts.never did get to ride with him.
Back in the late 80s my neighbour picked 1 up for $100 not running ended up needing a new stator that was unobtainable so he got the old one rebuilt and rode it once his brother rode it once and sold it for $500 😂30 odd years later be worth $15k-$20k 🤷
I love this crinkley engine design it is a style of its own and the sound is one of the best music it sings beauty of motocross the smell and looks are great they are famous just like the bultaco both are the best of spanish the style is magnificent and money well spent

Cosas de los americanos....donde va el Robo este con machete y pistola....?? Según ellos se sentirá amenazado....Terrible.!! Así pasa allí lo que pasa. La Montesa fantástica. Española. Falla de carburación.
VIva Montesa from Spain .Nice bike, for me Cappra VB it is one of the most beautiful motoCross bikes. The plastic on those fenders aged fast.
And to add that montesa is a work of art. Certainly should be in a museum, just too rare.
Your right keep it brother MY DREAM. 1970'S GOD BLESS MAN

Interesting to see Montesa is still alive and well......although actually owned by Honda...
Amazing detail to the gas tank by the Montesa factory the Spaniard did such beautiful workmanship.
Brutal , la montesa española reina del Cross !
Pullin out all the stops today. Always wanted to ride one of them Capra's.

@@bobflannery8592 He'd prob. take it off for racing. Probably. Maybe that's his 'ace in the hole' for winning.
it will run better if you put the carb top on the right way ... cable always to the front on bings ..
Gotta get Dylan to ride that one!
Just like a YZ490, it seems like it will idle at 1 rpm all day long..
What! And now the 360 bet that hauls the farm!
Rudy Marczi rode the isdt on that .!
Wall of fame has his Pic on the wall.
a 2 stroke with a lopy cam lol sounds great

The top of the Bing carb is on backwards. Throttle cable should be forward, not to the rear. Cool bike though!
