That's exactly why I plan to have at least 3 or 4 SlingFires in my collection. A couple 100% stock for messing around with and not caring about power at all, a slightly modded one for decent all-around performance, and then a fully modded one for "serious business".
Yes, I've seen some of the metal gears and levers. Likely going to do a full metal one in the spring with a 7kg spring. This will be for family/neighborhood games and I'll make a more powerful version for events and such.
I'll do a full rework on another Slingfire. This one is going to keep the 4.5 kg spring and I simply epoxy'd the clutch together. That will do just fine for this blaster.
You'd better be ready to redo the internals on a Sling in order to use the 12 kg. This is just more of a econo mod to get a boost rather than a full build. The 12 kg would need a new boltsled, reinforced priming bar, and more work to the clutch. I'd rather do that to a Retal or Recon MkII personally.
I recently added that same spring, I epoxied the clutch. It brings performance up however locking the clutch takes the trickshot away. Choices....

There have been some efforts in making metal or stronger plastic internals for these.

Hi do you have a video of you jaming the clutch gear thanks
Great mod video. When you find the clutch you use will let me know.

05 Oct 2021...Just thrifted one yesterday...it's beat up...but it's the first one I've held ...and it's mine :) smiley face
Why not put a higher gauge spring like a 12kg?

I really like the sling fire. If I wanted to maximize the power what can I do without going crazy. I don’t care about trick moves
@@chungadin Just be ready to do a full internal build. The Sling isn't really built for high spring loads. But, you can do anything with some work!
Is there a kit that has everything in it that you would recommend?
I see a metal frame advertised for this gun. What is it for and is it worth it
