    Maybe I’m crazy. But I would personally still go for Metis. Love that bag so much. It’s my fav of all time. Mine is new (only made last year) and I had the mono first, then sold it for the reverse. And there’s nothing wrong with either of them. And I know LV stands behind their product. So I’m not worried either if something does go wrong in the future.
    When I love a bag so much - especially from the functionality point of view. I don’t like the feeling of getting forced to let it go. I can understand how you were heartbroken!!
    No matter what you choose, I’m sure it’ll be great!

      I totally agree with you. If they stand behind their bags, then why not get a new one. Also, if you can't even see the cracks, I'd wear it until a new one comes in and then exchange it when a new one is available. I love my Pochette Metis so much that if something went wrong, I'd just get a new one and start fresh with that one.

      ITA. It is by far my most favorite bag from LV I have the mono and reverse. My only other LV is the Berri MM. If something goes wrong with mine I'll just exchange it for a new one, providing they still make them and aren't discontinued.

      Agree!! I purchased my reverse PM a month ago...and I love it!! Mine was made in Oct 2018.

    This has really restored my faith in Louis Vuitton. It’s so awesome they are taking care of the customers and making the effort to call and email. I’m so sorry about your bag. Can’t wait to see what you chose! Xoxo

      I had my glazing redone last summer the day i got it back i told the manager i wasn't happy with the outcome they explained to me that's because my bag is used and that they can't make it perfect since it's not a brand new bag...if i have issues in the future i'm going to try to have them replace it...i still want a pochette metis but probably the leather one

      I got a call out of no where from LV custom relations, they offered to have it fix or give me credit for the purchased price of the purse, there was no time limit on when i have to decide but, i decided to go with Alma instead. And yes, I hardly ever use that bag, i really love that bag, but I didn’t want to deal with the problem. My call was like three weeks ago or so. My bag was purchased back in 2014, I’m happy with the solution LV offered, after all it is a 5 years old bag.

    The reverse is one of my dream bags. However the 3rd one seems too frustrating-bad juju. I agree. Tfs Love your openness and honesty!

    I took my metis hobo in empreinte leather, from 2013, into an LV store in Australia last week (due to glazing issues) and they gave me store credit for the original purchase price plus an additional $750 given the bag is no longer made and would have increased in value. Can't fault the service I received - very happy! Now I just need to decide on a replacement - either the Lockme Ever in black or the Marignan in seasame.

      I just took my wallet back last week due to a glazing issue. The rocks store in Sydney refused to provide store credit only willing to repair it for free. Really disappointed

    I love that LV is taking care of their customers! They have always been so helpful to me in my boutique when i had 2 speedy 35's crack out of nowhere. I decided to not go for a 3rd one and they were ok with that!

    I was just at LV Fashion Valley last week turning in my very defective 2014 Empriente Lumineuse. The glazing had melted so badly, that the leather on the strap had detached completely. However, the SA told me I could not get store credit, unless under 200 dollars, and I had to use it all that day. I did choose a Scarlet Empriente Pochette Metis bag. I am not worried about the glazing, since I have other Empriente items past the 2013-2015 window that are abused daily and look beautiful. I am bummed that they forced me to choose other items to make up the difference. The few items I was interested in were out of stock, so I ended up with items I really didn't care for. I know others were also in my same boat, but glad the SA you encountered gave you more options!

    I appreciate your input once again. You are always giving us the most updated and accurate information. Thanks to you, I decided to take my empriente pochette metis once again to the store since I took her to LV about a few months back and they had told me it was normal wear and tear, they suggested to send it for repair for the glazing around the flap I would have to pay for it which I didn’t at the moment. I decided to wait. However, after watching your video, I decided to go back into the store and they took a look and asked me which bag I wanted. I was impressed to see the reaction and different outcome to the cracking of my pochette metis in the empriente version. I decided to pick this bag after I requested your opinion in regards to the color transfer and the bag version of the empriente in 2017, you answered me question and I decided to go with my heart. I would be honest I was heart broken, in order to get my hands on this bag was a whole long journey. Thank you again for bringing awareness to all of us in regards to the pochette metis. I believe the fact that they are taking care of the situation speaks volumes.

    I have both the brown one n the reverse one . I love them both but hate the closure on it . ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😘😘😘😘. Glad u got a new bag , can’t wait to see it !!!

    I’m so glad everything worked out for you. I was a LV customer who had a smooshy glazing problem from a 2013 bag and brought it up to LV management over a year later. LV claimed their company was perfect, there were no glazing issues and I should enjoy my bag. I escalated my claim, and the result I got was LV (once again) telling me they don’t have glazing problems. I sold my bag. I fully disclosed the glaze issue, but somebody was willing to buy it. I took a financial hit, though.
    Now many people are praising LV for taking responsibility for their product quality issues. A little late for people like me. I will not buy LV again.
    But, I’m happy for all of you who are benefitting from the mass recall. When you get your new bag, please think of us who started the ball rolling on the glaze recall and cannot reap the benefits. I don’t think LV deserves praise, we do.

      Yes, they can. If they still own it, they probably will, and get its full value in a store credit. The whole experience still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I paid over $2K +tax for my bag back then, and got $1200 for it. I had used the bag three times (it wasn’t a daily bag) when I noticed the glazing issue. I recently talked to a former LV manager who is now with another luxury house- he said my bag was one of the styles caught up in the bad glazing batches. I feel a little vindicated, but the memory of the financial sting is still there. I’m just tired of all the LV praise, especially by IG and YT personalities. Luxury brand SA & management kiss up to most of these people because they constantly buy and have a platform to verbally beat up the companies, too. I’m happy for people who can be made whole, but bothered by the LV praise. Thank you for your comment.

    I was so devastated when i lost my reverse and have to go monogram because it’s what’s available after waiting long time but now I’m loving the regular monogram same as i loved the reverse. Great video ❤️

    I’m a bit confused. So this bag has cracking on canvas and melting, and is couple of years old. Why is Louis Vuitton going “above and beyond” for this recall handbag, shouldn’t this be the standard protocol for ALL of there handbags??? I mean cracking on canvas should be an indicator of a defective bag regardless if its this bag or any bag. Hmmm idk most people are applauding LV for this but to me this seems like this should be standard policy for any given bag when it’s less than 5 years old....

      I think the difference here is it's a known widespread issue, not just random one offs here and there. No different than when a car manufacturer issues a recall when it's been determined that there is a global issue with a product. Whenever I take my vehicle in, the service advisor always checks to see to there any recalls out there that effect my car.

      @@Titus2Chic , thanks I was about to type this regarding cars. It's the same practice. It's not really an issue until it's wide spread, because some may not take care of their bag and blame the company. I think LV, stand behind their product more than my Coach experiences . So far I haven't had any issues with my LV's but I would take my pieces in if I do. Coach will not fix a bag for me because they claimed it would be like giving me a new bag. Why should it matter if I'm paying? Customer service will always grant a company with return customers. So happy they are taking care fo the issue.

    I had one from 2016. I took it back a few months ago as I found 2 minor cracks and one glazing issue. The store manger checked it out and offered me a store credit or exchange. I love this bag so much I told her I’d wait for another PM. 2 weeks later it was shipped to me. It’s my all time favorite bag.

    Your story is exactly like mine with my Empriente Key Holder. I received a phone call about a 'recall' with the same years affected. I was already planning on going in the following day because I wanted to go to Gucci so I stopped in and like the Pochette Metis there was no expiration date and I could exchange for something else at the current price. My key holder is still in great condition. I don't use it often but any item I had in mind they didn't have. I still have my key holder and I was thinking about exchanging and putting it towards a Pochette Metis. It's been on my wish list for years but because of the cracking and melting issues I never took the plunge. Now knowing that the newer models aren't affected makes me want to look into it again. Thank you Minnie for making this video. It makes me feel a lot better that Louis Vuitton is really making sure their customers are well taken care of.

    Oh what a bummer! However, I'm so glad to hear how LV is handling this, giving clients so many options. That's wonderful and how it should be! My sunglass case cracked badly after about a year of ownership so I'll be exchanging that for something once I figure out what I want to do. And I did (finally, after 2 years) snag a pochette metis in mono. Arrived yesterday. Despite all the known issues I decided it was worth a shot, and it's great to know LV will stand behind the product if I have problems down the road. Can't wait to see what you chose as your exchange!! ❤️

    My Retiro NM with the black leather is part of the recall and I returned the bag. I was sad to see it go but so excited about my new bag and wallet I got. LV was really pleasant to deal with on return day. I'm impressed with how they are handling these glazing issues from 2015.

    Hi Minnie, I too had to part with a LV handbag I've grown to luuuv and appreciate. A couple weeks ago I discovered that my Melie Empriente/Marine Rouge had cracks along the glazing on the opening of the handbag. I purchased it in fall 2017. I contacted LV customers service via email and received an immediate reply with instructions to take my bag in for examination. This Friday while attending a conference in Vegas, we took it back where we purchased it at the Bellagio. I explained to Edgar our SA all that was going on and he examined it and took it to the back. Now keep in mind that I was only expecting to receive a repair but upon his return, which took all of 2min...he said we are giving you the option to exchange the bag for a new Melie or you can choose another one. I was saddened because I didn't want to part with it and I wasn't sure if I should choose a different one. I said ALL that to say that I am sooo pleased with LV customer service. In fact, the entire experience was phenomenal compared to the horror stories I've heard. I did choose another handbag from my wish list and kudos to the entire staff at the Bellagio! Your customer service was so outstanding, we even purchased my husband's 30th Anniversary travel bag w/matching wallet. LV, if you treat us right, we'll continue spending our money with you.

Sorry to hear about this but completely understand your hesitance in pete & repeat and if your love for the PM will become tainted after another ‘try’. Do you happen to know if a person bought a bag preloved if LV would still offer a resolution if it is one with the glazing/cracking issues or if it’s only on bags that were bought directly from LV?     Awe Minnie, I am sorry to hear that your ‘game changer’ bag was deemed defective. 😢I feel your pain mine was too! I hope you will love your new bag and look forward to seeing your NEW bag!!😉👍🏻. The store I dealt with was fabulous and took care of it through the mail as the closest LV is 8 hrs from me.

    Wow. I'm so sorry about your bag. I know how much you loved it. I constantly check the glazing on the strap of my Montaigne BB. I hear/read about so many glazing issues that it's made me a little guarded. I look forward to your reveal.

    @minks4all thanks for sharing your story. About 4 years ago, I owned the bucket bag and the lining was peeling which was just as defective as the glazing. LV never did anything about it and told me that I didn’t have any other options.

    I had this happen last year with my 2014 soft lock it with melting glazing... they said it couldn’t be fixed and there was no other bag in the beautiful deep purple color. I was so sad, but really impressed with their customer service giving me the full value of the bag back in store credit- ended up getting the pochette metis in empriente cerise (red) and Palm Springs mini backpack, and I love both of them!

    I have this strange feeling that this defective bag is going to be worth lots of money in the years to come. I’m streetwear seller and there is a pair of defective Nike Jordan’s that is worth Thousands now.
    I’m definitely going to hold on toe reverse monogram pochette metis. I love it way to much.

    I also wasn’t a fan of crossbody until that bag. You know my journey with it too - I’m on my third one now. I’m also on edge with the bag!!! But so far so good. - so sorry Minnie! However, I am so excited you exchanged and can’t wait to see the unboxing.

    The same thing happened to me....mi e was an original from 2013....I LYoed too! At the end of the day the newer one just didn’t feel the same so I did exchange mine for a Neonoe, and I love it . It is very versatile, shoulder or cross and holds a ton. Can’t wait to see what you have chosen.

    One question mini. Hope is not too late for minks Monday. I have a holy Grial slg, it’s a Chanel classic flap wallet in Tiffany blue, I purchased in December and was so happy using it whenever I could. Thing is I’m very careful with my things but the wallet has started to show a lot of wear on the corners, this made me stop using of course to avoid more wear being done to my little holy grial. I am a bit confused since I have used my Louis Vuitton wallet for almost two years and still looks like new, and my other Chanel slgs don’t look like this. Would you stop using a piece you love because it shows more and more wear or you wouldn’t mind?

    Is there other LV on recall? because my 6 ring key holder is almost 1 year old and glazing is falling also in my Jeanne wallet glazing is flimsy and it has some white pealing

    I have the reverse date code 2016 and it has cracking under flap,I went into the boutique fashion valley and the SA said it was normal wear, what are your thoughts? I love the bag and want to keep it I just don't want the cracking to get worse 🤔

    Ahh, I'm glad you uploaded this video. I noticed a few small cracks in mine last month and filmed a video on it but haven't uploaded it yet. I'm so torn as mine is a limited edition and I obviously can't buy another one unless I find a preloved one. It's such a functional bag. Decisions decisions... Can't wait to see which new bag you chose

    I agree, good customer service on Louis Vuitton’s part. My daughter purchased the bag in 2015. She recently returned it to the boutique and replaced it with a different style. Can’t wait to see what you chose.

    Get the Coach Cassie! It's such great quality leather, incredibly classy, and for the price! I have mine in the pebbled Saddle color and just love it to pieces.

    Thank you so much for this important INFORMATION. After watching your review, I took mine into LV Store just to make sure (mine in 2017). However, my other empreinte leather bag that i bought back in 2013 had a melted and cracked so I was able to exchange it.
    I exchanged it for Palm Spring Mini Backpack(because you had it & LV had it (so hard to find now).
    Question #1: what do think about made in USA vs. FRANCE or ITALY or SPAIN ?
    Question #2: I know that the Palm Spring mini backpack is made with couple of pieces of canvas and the logos may not be perfectly aligned. I saw yours & is perfectly aligned in the front of the bag above the little pocket.What do you think about that ? I know some people don't care about that but I am kinda of. What are your thoughts on that?

    So pleased how Louis Vuitton is stepping up not only admitting the problems the bag has, but giving so many options to replace. I bought the reverse a year ago after stalking the website and one finally showed up - I love it. Now to Chanel. I bought a new 226 black reissue with gold hardware -I noticed when I got home that even though mine is not very distressed in the leather (very very few winkles) and no distressing in the gold chain the lock had some distress on one corner. The next time I was at Saks I showed it to my SA and she said they are all like that and it won’t get worse. Before The month return was to expire I showed her the lock again and she said its about the same and I showed her where the gold already looked more worn due to opening and closing and said she could not exchange as it was not a defect. Well its been about 8 months and it still shows more wear and last week told her I see many used ones that have not done this and she said it is the nature of the bag and will not even send to replace the lock. This bag is three times the price of LV - not only is chanels seasonal bags are now $4000 or more and the so called caviar is nothing like the classics plus there service does not compare to LV I don’t know if I will continue with Chanel. While I was waiting another woman told me that they told her to not said her one year old bag for repair yet as you are only allowed two repairs??

    Hi Minnie. I went through the exact same experience January 2019. Brought my PM to the Fashion Valley LV and they said the same thing to me and I was very close to tears because I loved the using bag so much. The only difference with your experience is that they never said there was a waitlist when I told them that I still want a pochette metis (why?! should I contact them again?) I ended up exchanging for the PM empreinte in black. I still want to get a mono or reverse mono.

This could be a great news. Do you think it worth to buy it now? I mean do they resolve those issues in the newer versions?

    Farewell, Pochette Metis! I completely understand how you feel. Mine melted all over me while I was at a concert, and although Louis Vuitton replaced it, I haven't used my new one since I got it in September. I love it, but I'm nervous! 😕

    I sold mine after 3 months of continuous using of it. I really enjoy it but cannot stand the clip sound of its lock. However, I have to admit that it might be the best purchase of all my Louis Vuitton collections, because it’s so functional and beautiful. Minnie, get your 3rd one! It will definitely be a perfect one!

    I brought in my reverse monogram Pochette Metis and they couldn’t repair the glazing and cracking, so they deemed it faulty and irreparable and that I could go in and exchange it for a new bag, I bought around Christmas of 2015 and there were a few price increases since, so I got the current selling price. I chose the Marignan in Sesame and am in love with it!

    I teared up and nearly started to cry when they told me mine was defective so don’t feel silly. I loved that bag I ended up with a Empreinte pochette metis in the marine rouge. I am hoping to get another monogram eventually.

    Oh Minnie... makes me so sad about your beauty.... but your time together was great and its time to part ways! Can't wait to see your new gem at your unpacking....I must tell you, your love for your Pochette Metis influenced me to "show my closet" and rock my Wilson all leather Coach bag from waaaaaaaay back in the day, I am sure I am dating myself! But the silhouette is very similar, works as a great cross body (great with the kids) and I am extremely loving her! haha..... thx for that.... this is a good breakup where you enjoyed and look fondly on your time together but now time for your next love.... XOXO

    The pochette Métis and the Palm Springs mini have so many issues. I finally decided to sell my replacement when I was called into the store.. after replacing it 3 times. I really loved the Palm Springs mini, but I just can’t take another potential defect on the bag. I agree with you with the paranoia. I couldn’t take the potential problems because the Palm Springs mini that they replaced it with would have been my third one too. I will also appreciate that bag from afar.

    I feel your pain. I finally got the reverse pochette metis and i love it so much. I waited to make sure the problem with the glazing is corrected and my SA assured me that is was. Hopefully sher''s right because i would hate to return it.

    What a bummer! But I can’t wait to see what you chose ... a few weeks ago I noticed a tear in my mini Palm Springs back pack and I was so devastated.. I took it Louis Vuitton and they said where it’s torn is unrepairable , so I decided to part with it. They put me on a waiting list but I’m not sure if I’ll but it again... but lv was wonderful, they gave me my money back no questions asked 😃

    I can totally relate. I had the PM in reverse monogram twice. When I first got the bag, it has some droplets of glazing in the front part and some peeling of the coating, and this was made Jan 2021, 2nd one It was perfect and it was Made in France which is a bonus but after having it for 5 weeks, the glazing on the flap part had a minor crack so I had to return it. I wanted to get another PM since I love it so much but just like you, I will be paranoid in using the bag and will be constantly checking if it the glazing or canvas will start to crack. So I exchanged it and paid the difference for the Maida Hobo in Empreinte noir. I love it so much. It’s so versatile! Thank you for making this video, at least now I won’t feel so bad that it’s not just me who is appreciating the PM from afar ..
