As for my mini three I have already got the insurance on it for two years. It's already registered in my name and bonded so I'm stuck with that for a while. I really appreciate you replying to my question.
Another great demonstration, Marcus. I appreciate that you keep commenting on the brightness and clarity of the RC controller screen. Cheers from Wisconsin.
Nice tutorial of how to use the Hyperlapse with waypoints feature in the new Mini 3 Pro drone. Easy to set up and works just as you expect it to, plus it switches the final product together for in camera. And that extra flight time from the extended life battery can really come in handy on a Hyperlapse. Thanks for sharing,
Thanks for the clear demonstration of that feature. I haven't tried it yet. FYI if you try out the STARTRC led landing gear, be careful. On my Mini 3 Pro it the warnings to pop up saying low visibility even though it was bright daylight, and then it did not want to land because it thought there was an obstacle below it. I had to turn off obstacle sensors and tell it to do nothing instead of bypass or stop, before it finally landed. Sending that one back to Amazon
Hey Marcus......Nice demo of the hyperlapse mode. Having that extra capacity battery shure helped with the mission time. I've yet to try this with my 2S. Speaking of part 107. Passed my 107 test this last Thursday on the first try. So now I can continue onward with this venture......👍

Hey Marcus - Nice video on the Hyperlapse feature! I used in once on my Mini 2, but will have to explore it some more with my Mini 3 Pro, now that we have the extended battery capability. I was impressed with the video, and equally impressed by the deadcat on you DJI microphone. I didn't notice a hint of wind noise as you were narrating, and I could see the deadcat doing its thing. If I didn't already have the Rode Wireless Go II system, I'd be considering it! Again, thanks for all your videos....I enjoy watching you fly!
No doubt that is a very beautiful well kept park. Wish I had one like that near me to fly my drone. I do have a park near me but a tenth the size of yours.
I really like the waypoint planning functionality on the Litchi app, and used it extensively on my Mini 2. The ability to plan a flight with waypoints, actions at those waypoints, etc, all from the comfort of your desktop, and then upload it to the cloud and then add it to your controller is exceptional. I really thought we'd have this in the Mini 3 Pro. But once again, I'm left waiting for DJI to release the SDK so Litchi can do their magic for the Mini 3 Pro.
Great video and tutorial man. Love this little drone. The hyper lapse feature is one of my favorites. I tend to do mine in reverse though just to make sure I have enough battery to get the full hyper lapse.
Thanks, Marcus, great review and creation of a hyperlapse with waypoints. Kleiner Park is a great place to fly. The Mini 3 is a great drone. I finally got a couple of flights in today, only 101d.

Do you know if this is deliberate, if so why or is there a way to do this using the DJI RC with the mini 3? I miss the version that the zoom had!
timelapse means the camera stays in one location. hyper means it moves through space. Which would not include a camera on a slider doing a timelapse since location is still not changing.

Great job Marcus, from Chicago. I think the 150 meter warning is in case you tried to fly a tower, say 200 ft tall, and you could theoretically fly 400 ft above that tower within a 500ft radius of the tower. Does that agree with your understanding of the guidelines? Keep up the good work.
Hey, thanks for the helpful tutorial! Two questions about the waypoints. I can't try it myself at the moment unfortunately. - Is the waypoint mode also available in vertical view? - Does the drone fly the same route to get to the waypoints as I flew or always on a direct path?
Couple of questions, was the camera in "auto" or custom settings for the video and did you do any "post processing" to the video color. Reason for asking, the colors seemed to be more saturated than other videos I have seen for an "out of the card" video (without post processing). In a lot of the videos I had looked at that did not have post processing, the colors looked somewhat flat and the video in general looked like it was shot in a haze. Just my impressions.
There is a rarely seen name KNAPP, I had a wonderful art teacher in Pompton Lakes NJ high school back in the 1960's with that name and she was a wonderful lady and great patient teacher. Ray C. transplanted to Florida 1990
@Lon Denard I have PhotoShop and LightRoom but only do anything with them in still pics. I totally suck when it comes to video editing both in cutting / pasting and color processing. At my age I don't have enough years of life left to even get mediocre at it much less good with videos so it has to be really good right off the card.
@@Air_Devil_Leader_One No relatives in NJ nor have I ever set foot in that state. I did spend a lot of time in FL over the last 12 years (pre-COVID). Disney got rid of us seasonal cast in December 2020 after the COVID shutdown and eliminated the seasonal status cast.
@Lon Denard Lon, i agree with you. I do not own the Autel Mini, but I di have the Mini 3. From the comparisons, I’ve seen, it appears to me that the Austen Mini is always “over-sharpened”; i prefer the look from the Mini 3.
I'm confused about the registration. I have Cert for recreation but I'm not ready to take the test . But I am going to within the year. Should I registor or wait till I have part 107
Great presentation of the hyperlapse feature. Alas, as I live in Europe, I cannot easily get the extended battery here? Bureaucrats and their inane regulations. But I can still make use of the hyperlapse for shorter runs. If the drone can maintain the waypoints across battery swaps, that would be cool, but not sure it can. Anyone?
@@IdahoQuadcopter that’s pretty obvious, but what device records the audio and how specifically do you do marry your narration with the video? iMove, Final Cut, etc?
Would be super good if we could use waypoints when recording a video. Or at least if we could rotate the drone (to rotate the camera view) without affecting directions on the controller (course mode?). Now it's pretty hard to move the drone by a straight line while rotating the camera to keep focus on an object that is close to the drone. Waypoints would be one of the possibilities to achive that. Only if they were possible while recording a video...
Nice video. You should go back and count how many times you said "we are".......I got a good laugh when my buddy pointed that out to me. The mini 3 is an amazing drone. I just got mine and loving it.

Live in Indiana but worked "seasonal" at Disney World, about 4 trips a year at anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks each trip (was my retirement gig).
Understood Steve but the name still brings back good memories. Bless your heart and enjoy even more friend, Ray C.
Hey Marcus 12:52 I noticed a lot of double exposure frames on that hyperlapse. Is that something DJI did intentionally?
Hey Kris. Yep, as we discovered today, it's an artifact of the editor rendering at a different frame rate.
@@IdahoQuadcopter Thanks, Marcus. I'm glad we got that figured out. It was a fun stream! I'm looking forward to your next video.
I'm confused about the registration. I have Cert for recreation but I'm not ready to take the test . But I am going to within the year. Should I registor or wait till I have part 107
As long as your drone is below 250 grams and is not used for commercial purposes you do not need to register. 👍
Nice
Thanks
Can send you link to 1750cm landing pad, :) I got it for the zino to land one, Never did
I have a bigger one. I just like the smaller pad as it's easier to carry. Thank you!
Anyone?
That endurance battery really helps!
It sounds like you are narrating live? In what device is your narration being recorded? In real-time with what software?
Yes, I narrate live with a wireless mic. 👍
@@IdahoQuadcopter that’s pretty obvious, but what device records the audio and how specifically do you do marry your narration with the video? iMove, Final Cut, etc?
@@MaxineTheBraveSquirrel I use Magix Movie edit pro to edit my videos. I use a DJI mic to record audio.
@@IdahoQuadcopter thanks
Would be super good if we could use waypoints when recording a video. Or at least if we could rotate the drone (to rotate the camera view) without affecting directions on the controller (course mode?). Now it's pretty hard to move the drone by a straight line while rotating the camera to keep focus on an object that is close to the drone. Waypoints would be one of the possibilities to achive that. Only if they were possible while recording a video...
I hear you, DJI does have video waypoints for the Mavic 3, but not the Mini 3.
Nice video. You should go back and count how many times you said "we are".......I got a good laugh when my buddy pointed that out to me. The mini 3 is an amazing drone. I just got mine and loving it.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thank you.
How did you do the screen recording?
iPhone screen recorder. 👍
@@IdahoQuadcopter ok. I have a Galaxy S22. Great video.
Still think the Litchi version is better. You can do it on line then fly it. This system seems to be very long winded. You might as well take the pictures/film while your setting the way points up
I lot of people love Litchi for sure.
@@IdahoQuadcopter I have a Mavic Pro, Old now but still good and a new Mini 3 Pro. Same the Mini 3 RC doesn't work on the Mavic Pro. That would be a game changer. Not supported any more though.
Great video, too bad the nearest testing center is 6 hrs. away for my part 107.
Wow, sorry to hear it. 👍
Can you only access way points through hyperlapse? Can you do way points without a hyperlapse?
For this little bird it's hyperlapse only.
I tried that on the Mini 3 Pro but I get a stuttered playback when each photo was taken. Not smooth
Yes, picture interval, percent of camera move etc. can affect that. 👍
Can you do waypoints with out Hyperlapse. Just slow going video.
No waypoint video with the Mini 3 Pro, you can with the Mini 4 Pro however.
Is it just me or is the resultant timelapse video blurry ? The realtime footage was amazing compared ??
I think that was caused by the editing process. 👍
@@IdahoQuadcopter I am about to try the same on my new mini Pro 3 so I'll see how I go - thanks for the tutorial !!
The hyperlapse quality seems poor.
No reason to not just get to it already.
Video is too long and filled with fluff to explain how to use waypoints. Consider adding chapters for an informative video.
