Only issue I had was that it rubbed the revers lockout cable when in 5th or 6th gear, just had to adjust the bracket that holds the cable away and it has been good ever since!
Hey what size are those enkeis. I’m in a ‘20 sti, silver, and am trying to figure the optimum size/fitment. Yours look well flush from the angle… I’m also entertaining the idea of the cf driveshaft. I love losing rotational mass! Just the lightweight crank pulley on my older wrx gained me almost 2mpg in certain conditions and was way livelier/responsive in the lower revs.
Those were 17x9 +35, but those wouldn't fit on your car unfortunately, you need at least 18 in. wheels to clear your front calipers! lol I'm not too familiar with what fits well on the newer generations so I wish I could help more, lightweight wheels make a massive difference with how nimble and snappy the car feels!
Appreciate your response! Our tastes seem to be very similar. I had enkeis on my ‘11 wrx and agree with your comment on snappiness.. I would definitely be getting 18s, as I think the current 19s are too big… I’m thinking 18x9 +38 or +35 offset at this point. Don’t want the wheels sticking out. I’ve read that the stock ‘20 STI wheels weigh in at 28lbs so that’s be a big drop in unsprung weight as well! It does seem sluggish in 1st and 2nd but wakes up nicely in 3-5th gears.
This mod plus light weight flywheel, and fluid damper crank pulley. Maybe some lighter wheels too. Oh boy. Good job man
That pop tho at 11:56 🤙🏽 🔥
It probably increased your WHP since there is less weight to take away the HP from the crankshaft
Nice install man, Can’t wait for more content!
So you replaced the front dif seal and that fixed all the leaks 100%?
The rear output shaft seal on the transmission where the driveshaft slides into the trans is what I had to replace to fix my leaking issue.
@@colinjohnsen gotcha, I'm gonna get the drives shaft so I want to have everything I need before hand
Anytrouble with rubbing or everything is all good?

Where’s the uploads? How’s the car goin now?
Been super busy! lol Should be posting more soon though!
Great underrated mod.

so how did you go about the seal?
Popped it out with a pick, cleaned the area off, then evenly tapped the new seal in, pretty easy to do 👌
how much power can it hold?

nevermind, im buying one now thanks your awesome in my book but my wife hates you
It’s rated for around 1000whp. BUT my 420whp wagon just disintegrated one. Don’t waste your money on carbon fiber driveshafts
is there any alignment or anything else you need to do besides put it in?
Not at all, it shouldn't affect the alignment of anything
Where is the part number for that seal
806735210 is what I used
@@colinjohnsenthanks
How long is it
It's not about the length, but how you use it
Hopefully you have better luck than I did with one. My wagon puts down 420whp and I just blew apart this exact driveshaft
That's wild! Pretty sure they're rated for 1000 hp lol Wonder if you got a bad one :/
@@colinjohnsen most likely a manufacturing defect and it’s almost impossible to prove. I’ll stick to aluminum
Sic just got one
How easy was it to replace the seal to keep the transmission fluid from leaking?
Easy with the right tools, I had a metal pick to pull the old one out and a rubber mallet to tap the new one in!
