I’ve never actually seen Joel Park. I’d just assumed he was Korean 😅
Funny thing about dot occlusion - back when I still played airsoft (so like 10 years ago) all I and my friends had access to were cheap chinese air gun red dots and they had HORRIBLE illumination, to the point that you HAD to run a cap on the faux eotech/aimpoint to see the dot when playing in the field on a sunny day. We inadvertently trained our eyes to shoot occluded and maintain target focus because of terrible equipment :)
Loving the content lately. The confluence between competitive/recreational shooters, and those with professional military/Leo experience is something that needs to happen and I love that the conversations are candid and public. Also, the fact that Ben has been training with rifle is just scary. And that you already have a new book out, I need to buy it. The way you guys break down things, it can only be an improvement for anybody trying to shoot better
Joel delivered a masterclass on "Give someone enough rope". Had to listen to that podcast twice to truly appreciate it
Which podcast is that?
Yes what podcast the people want to know
P&S (primary secondary)
P&S Modcast 345
11:40 That stimulates the conversation with clear and consistent communication.
Thanks for the update on the summit. I was fortunate enough to attend the 2023 summit in Atlanta and it was absolutely incredible. I plan on attending every year from now on. Appreciate what you guys are doing!
Great content, appreciate the honesty
I listened to the podcast and Joel was a BEAST !! confident with all the knowledge.
I think it was some of you guys that once said that a Tactical shooters do not know what they do not know. Practical shooters do not know the limit of what they already can not know.
You guys are on point with all you’re doing 👍
Occluding the dot sends my vision to the dot more than the target. Why am I stupid?
I knew I liked Joel for a reason, fellow IT nerd here.
5:51 Mr.Park made a excellent point ,all these drills are awareness drills all the content they put out . (Mr.Park,Stoeger ,Pranka,Kim.)
15:35 same here , that’s what really let me down with the training industry regarding the topical name brand. Until I discovered this group of individuals.
16:08 that lens is exactly what a lot oh average people don’t want to hear. Clear performance expectations are around a mystique.
Joel, I have your book, read it, love it. If I met you at a class, I wouldn't know who were unless you told me :)
8:11 I’ve had the same experience with Mr.Pranka it’s almost hard to believe he exists.
Isn't dot occlusion just the old Bindon Aiming Concept that Trijicon used to promote back when they first came out with red dots?
Basically the same “tech” that worked with the old Armson OEGs and Weaver sights. Works fine for pretty much anyone except folks with pronounced astigmatism. If your eyes are super weird shapes, the POI shift from a traditional zero can be huge.
The difference is purpose-BAC was a pushed as a “hack” for using a magnified optics at close range, whereas occluded pistol dot instruction is focused on training binocular target focus. It’s not meant for actual patrol use or carry.
How does someone NOT understand occlusion? Wish I had started doing that when I first started training with dots.
Joel cracks me up with some of his commentary on your videos
So toxic….Thank y’all for the transparency, truth, free content!!!
Dufrense actually did agree with Joel.
“Force” as in kinesthetically aiming?
21:15 that’s why we’re here lol
Is there a regulation regarding how many students you can have in a class or on the shooting line at a time? Regardinging insurance or range rules?
If there was, who would enforce it?
@VIPER150311 The range owners, insurance company,. If your an NRA instructor and you do something they don't like they will drop you.
8:07 I’m telling you it’s like a work place we’re all the slackers know that the new head boss is going to squat everyone away by hood them accountable for all the bad habits they choose to develop.
16:21 Mr.Stoeger just defined the entire fake training industry
12:45 I didn’t know you guys started that trend .
They didn't, but I think maybe they helped get it out to a different group of people?
@@cedartop1 I’ll ask .
Can't even get firearm insurance in NY at the moment from the bigger providers. Something I would get because it's important but once capitalism gets a hold of it I'm sure it's all downhill form there.
13:31 who that person ?
Is t.rex good?
Easy solution. Pcc.
lmaaaoooo here we go
