"Overhwlemed by the amount of support for illest Of Our Time. Have been loving watching all the reaction videos and hearing everyone's interpretation. I never usually break down my own words because I love letting people apply their own meaning, but there was one line I wanted to explain. The title of the song. Alot of people took this to mean "The greatest Of Our Time"
"Look for all the answers that I never seem to find,
Till then I guess I'm still the illest of our time"
Its my reluctance to be the illest - the clue is in the word 'guess' - ive spent the better part of a decade looking for solutions to the damage lyme disease dealt with countless doctors visits, and am still in that boat. "Illest" can also mean "dopest" "best" etc. So it's a bit of a double entendre. Same as "Sick boi"
This theme is repeated with the line "elementary dear Watson you might find" cause Sherlock Holmes was always searching for the clues to piece the puzzle together, which is very relatable when trying to piece together parts of a very complex health picture, anyone with a very complex illness will relate to almost having to become your own detective.
And finally

Acceptance that this might just be the cards I've been dealt.
To search for answers and simultaneously accept that chronic illnest may be your fate is a bit of a paradox because it is the rejection of acceptance that spurs you forward in the persuit of answers, but it is the acceptance that you may always be sick that let's you lead a more peaceful life... so one must walk this contradictory line between both opposing states to have the motivation to find the answers whilst not being so outcome dependent. Me: To me it's like Ren is psyching himself up to get bigger, how much bigger? Big enough to have the power to create a standardized treatment for Lyme Disease & an early detection system... hyuge you gotta be hyuge. That takes millions upon millions upon millions of dollars, but Ren ain't rich never has been most of the money goes to medicine. Some of the reactors have more subscribers than he does. that's why he feels like Atlas sometimes maybe like the weight of the medical world is on his shoulders but he can't shrug it off.

Glad to see this comment.... Chief... You be you.... That is why we are here. You are real and your excitement is contagious. My opinion is that the folks that don't want any pauses need to go to the original and watch it a couple of times straight through before they start checking out reactions. That's the point of the reactions.... right? I am at a stage of life and in the situation where I don't have anyone to share the excitement of these discoveries with. It was no one even remotely in the realm of the things that I have been checking out and learning about especially since discovering Ren. The musical world is opened again. If you'd asked me a few months ago I would have never ever believed that I would be listening to anything sounded even close to rap. My mind has been opened and you guys being there to give your opinions and validates my excitement over the same kind of thing is life-changing. I'm hoping to share a video that's on Facebook on Ren's Facebook page. The day this dropped and he was online with everybody. He got so emotional when he googled the song named just to see what was happening and saw page after page of reactions already out there. He was overwhelmed and had to stop video for a second to compose himself. Tears of happiness.... His words.

His lyrical use of double entendres is amazing, "I'm ready I'm heavy, I’m Mercury, I am Freddy,..." Mercury being a HEAVY metal, Freddy Mercury....😵💫 C'MON! Even the title is a double entendre - "Illest of our Time". He's firing warning shots in this one and making sure everyone takes notice. Nice to see him showing some attitude and confidence, being a little braggadocious. I Love it.
He did a live stream right after the video dropped (on Twitch), and to see his genuine, emotional reaction to how many reaction channels had already posted videos within an hour of the songs release, was truly heartwarming. He shows his soul. This young man deserves every bit of love , support, and success he's finally getting. I couldn't be happier for him, especially for someone so talented, so driven, and without question, someone who has been forged through fire. Love this kid! Fan for life.

I would highly suggest reacting to Ren’s love music parts 1, 2 & 3 back to back. It is a really good way of understanding and confirming the man’s total genius not just as a rap artist but as a musical artist in general. The guy can do it all and his talents as a producer, a well rounded musician, a songwriter, a vocalist and a performer seems to be endless.
You are correct this is all Ren vs Ren that's why at the beginning he says we're going into his mind all these battles are in his head. it's like he's standing more confidently against his self doubt. you should check out "Genesis" by Ren the bars are good in Genesis & he made that beat too.

Yes! I got Knight Rider, the old video games he's mentioned, and..... 80s horror movies. I can't think of the one specifically, but at the part where he mentions Freddy Krueger, it definitely sounded like one of those background tracks in the 80s used to increase anticipation. (To be fair, I was like six when my mom was into those, so I'm amazed I remember anything about them)

I love it when I find a fellow Brit because there are so many American reactors. Liked, commented and subscribed. I love Ren, so much as a sick Brit from Eastbourne not far from him in Brighton. I am suffering today, really not feeling well - it's an ongoing thing but I can sit in bed and watch lots of Ren and Ren reactions between sleeping and feeling shit. So that's good.

To me, art is about emotion, expression, and connections. Most music today is not art, it's just music, and that's okay for most people. Ren doesn't just make music, Ren makes art. He's able to use his talents to express himself in a truly exceptional and unique way.
Im not versed in this style of music, but I was getting a real NIN vibe from the electronic music. A dmall part in Money game pt2 was also referenced in Hi Ren, so Im excited to see you react to that.

Ren and his peeps are my support system in an extremely difficult time of my life. I’m in the rare disease fellowship of the rings. In my final stages and still every doctor has no clue. My story is almost exactly the same as his. Got a few more tests to do and I’m done but this all gives me a glimmer of hope at a time I needed it most.

That was really sweet at the end. I originally found you watching Polyphia reactions, but have been enjoying you watch Ren. Here’s what he said about the song:
Overhwlemed by the amount of support for illest Of Our Time. Have been loving watching all the reaction videos and hearing everyone's interpretation. I never usually break down my own words because I love letting people apply their own meaning, but there was one line I wanted to explain. The title of the song. Alot of people took this to mean "The greatest Of Our Time"
"Look for all the answers that I never seem to find,
Till then I guess I'm still the illest of our time"
Its my reluctance to be the illest - the clue is in the word 'guess' - ive spent the better part of a decade looking for solutions to the damage lyme disease dealt with countless doctors visits, and am still in that boat. "Illest" can also mean "dopest" "best" etc. So it's a bit of a double entendre. Same as "Sick boi"
This theme is repeated with the line "elementary dear Watson you might find" cause Sherlock Holmes was always searching for the clues to piece the puzzle together, which is very relatable when trying to piece together parts of a very complex health picture, anyone with a very complex illness will relate to almost having to become your own detective.

Acceptance that this might just be the cards I've been dealt.
To search for answers and simultaneously accept that chronic illnest may be your fate is a bit of a paradox because it is the rejection of acceptance that spurs you forward in the persuit of answers, but it is the acceptance that you may always be sick that let's you lead a more peaceful life... so one must walk this contradictory line between both opposing states to have the motivation to find the answers whilst not being so outcome dependent. Still haven't mastered this, but think it's an interesting concept
