Seems really quiet and appears to fly fairly stable for non-gps. If it can lift a 360go it would probably take some decent footage although the wisdom of putting a $300 camera on a $20 drone is suspect.
I bought one of these during some AliExpress promotion for $14 and it’s been my favorite drone to fly indoors. It does not have 150 feet range. I flew it 30 feet outdoors and it ran away from me. Indoors it’s great
I ordered it. It must be the promotion that made the price the same regardless of whether I used the Canadian coupon or not. In for less than $40 for a brushless drone with optical flow? Give my head a shake! No brainer. Gray with two batteries ~ you are just starting to have fun, and then you have to put it away? Two batteries always!
steve, there is also an E88 max model. the only difference is that the max has lower lights on each leg. blue red. the best model is the E88S and it also has optical detection and a better steering wheel. I bought the max model for 16.99 euro and the 88s is more expensive for 10 euro. 1euro = 1usa dollar. all best from serbia👍👋
I have an E88 and E99, with the old brushed motors that I got for around $30 CAD with three batteries each. They were my first drones, good learing experiences, but not much durability. The gears on the motors separated because the prop shaft guides wore out and I wasted my time and money trying to fix them. With brushless motors at this price, it should be a no-brainer first drone. Coupon is being weird. Price is around $30 CAD for one battery and 35 for two. If you add the code it increases the price, then adds a discount back down to the original price...
I live in the UK. The Canada code didn't work but did say it works in Australia. The USA code added $25 to my cart price . I managed to get 3 for £62 using no code.
Changing motors from coreless to brushless shortens the flying time but increases speed and stability in strong wind. Really difficult to find balance between factors.
for 20 dollars I might have to pick up a few as gifts! Another great Video Steve even though it was quickly put together like you said........... Stay warm up there
My initial thought seeing just the thumbnail was $19 for a bundle of parts. I was assuming it's greater than 250g, so a toy that could get little Johnny nicked by the feds. But just 1s and pretty light. Maybe a cheap gift idea
There's even a downgraded version of this (yeah, they managed to downgrade even further), which I got from Miravia (Aliexpress for Spain, from Alibaba) for about 4€. It's basically the same thing, but lacks gyro reset button (you can do it with the joysticks) and optical flow sensors, so yeah, it's not really stable. But it flies and what the heck, 4€ and still comes with the case and spare parts.
I thought about buying it but when I went to banggood the drone was USD 24.99 plus 3.00$ shipping. I could not find anywhere to apply the coupon code that you give in the description.
That video and $19 deal was last year when the video was first published. You apply the discount code at CHECKOUT (on the screen where you enter the info to pay for the item).... you can't miss it (look for the word COUPON or DISCOUNT ... You'll figure it out).
Wow, Steves really getting into the celebrity bit "Someone really needs to rake my leaves here" - Steve, I'll get my people to speak to your people - lets make this happen yeah?
Hey Cap! Great review as always. I just got this as my first drone and chipped a prop immediately. 😂. It did come with 2 sets (1 CW & 1 CCW). I'm worried I'll run out of props. The only problem is they don't sell spares in my location but they do sell for the Mavic Mini. I was wondering if they'll actually fit. Do you know? 😊 M
The good thing about props is that for 99.9% of drones on the market you can use any type as long as you match up the size and how they connect. I often find props on AMAZON as well as just walking into a hobby store and matching a prop to what they have in stock.
If the motors are any good I'd call it a buy with the discount. The camera is crap, but if all I want from this is parts than the camera doesn't matter.
Do the brushless motors last longer? I bough an E88 brushed motor drone and one motor died after less than an hour of flight time. I can buy replacement motors, but at $15 they cost the same as a new drone. Honestly don't want a drone or motors if it will only last for another hour. Still looking for something really chap thought.
Well done Captain!; looks like an inexpensive fun Drone; will buy one for my Grandson !; on another note; I reckon after you shave the "growth" for the fund raiser, grow it back !!!; suits you !!!!
Thanks for the facial hair comment. I’m in the itchy face phase and am looking forward to shaving it at end month, but I’ll ask my wife first before I do, just in case she likes it.
Actually, when you’re flying, you should not have the prop guards on because they say if you get the drone stuck in the tree with the prop guards on, they call it a ornament hanger because once the drone gets stuck in the then it becomes the ornament. It looks like because it hangs from the tree branch so it’s not really recommended to put the prop guards on at all maybe in the house but if you fly it outside not to have them on at all I understand they protect the props. That’s what they’re for, but maybe inside use only.
Hey, I also bought the crocodile 75 V3 you made a video about a few months ago. I have a problem with the propellers which in flight traction came loose and stopped spinning (motors work) The drone fell down but it works. How to install the propellers correctly? Put on the propeller from the engine this side where there is a bigger hole, indentation? Do you have the inscriptions on the top or bottom? Fully tighten the propeller? Fully up to the engine tighten the propellers?
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 This is how I watched. It looks like the propellers are tightened all the way to the engine. It also looked like the inscriptions are on top. But I've already had my drone fall 2 times because of improperly attached propellers. Can you see if that enlarged hole on the propeller is at the bottom or top?
The propeller housing is probably cracked if the screw is tight but the propeller isn’t spinning. It happened to one of my cheapie drones and I had to super glue it to the motor

Do these guards tend to fit any drone or will I need specific ones for the E88 ?
Whatever was shown in my “unboxing” portion of the vid is what you should have received if identical model was ordered. Prop guards are rarely sold separately for drones under $500 US. Time to invest in paint for the walls 🫣
Picked one up just to goof with, maybe give to this kid down the street that comes out of nowhere every time I load up with planes, drones or fishing gear, POOF he is just there watching me and my toys.
Oh nooo....😂 I just found out Banggood ALSO sells it WITHOUT any code for EURO 20,76...for Europeans... sorry Steve... no special treatment for you ...
With practice you'll learn to fly the drone and react quickly so as to easily control it. Also, make certain the props are damaged from all the crashes you have done, and also do the gyro calibration to reset the internal gyro so that it knows it is level.
I’m not trying to be rude, but I could not recommend that drone for any amount of money. It’s drones like that that give drones a bad name that’s a one time flyer and then it’s gone in your neighbors yard.
Nice birdfeeder. Defeats squirrels perfectly. This looks like a nice drone experiment but yet again, it can't be bought. Deliveries suspended, no stock. They gave me the option to wait them out, so I agreed. Steve, I'll let you know when they get one to Waterloo, ON. Maybe July? Maybe never?
I think you have it wrong Dan. Divide $20 by all the parts of the drone such as Motors, electronics, optical flow, camera, ESC, battery, flight controller, remote, props, prop guards. Don’t forget that 40% of the price of a drone is manufacturing, distribution and profit. So out of a $20 drone the camera cost is less than $1. I’m just surprised that for $20 you even get a picture.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 I understand what you mean Steve, but I look at it from a practical POV. A kid might play with that for 5 minutes and then it would sit in a pile. Hi Steve,
I want to purchase a Camera Drone for my grandson. He does not have a cell phone so how can he watch the drone while flying it? VR goggles?
You’d have to either buy an FPV ready to fly kit or spend a $1000 on a DJI drone with a remote with built in display
