Sometimes you’ll be so busy or just genuinely forget. - Set reminders for your homework and don’t set up unattainable goals! If you’re a person who’s just always late and are stressing yourself over perfect attendance, let go. If you try to make yourself a drama queen or something you’re going to get a HARSH reality check. It’s ok if you are struggling to get your own work done that affects your own grades, but when other people are involved, have the decency to put in effort. - Go to therapy or get a counselor if you feel like you need it. Your mental health is important and NOTHING is worth going into a depressive spiral for, not even your degree. It’s ok if you want to change that or even change schools. Tips from a recent college graduate! - dress comfortably. By the 2nd month or semester pretty much everyone is in their laziest clothes. - if you can go first or very early in anything spoken or presented you're better off. You can get it over with. You set the standard plus people won't remember it as much by the end. For small things like introductions, it relieves stress from your professor and looks like you care about the class. It also motivates other students to go more comfortably! - always bring your backups/alternatives. Umbrellas, water, a pen and notebook. I can't emphasize how many of my lecture halls or classrooms didn't have out let's for students to use easily. (My campus is pretty old so that's part of it). - Communication with professors and TAs (and any other staff that are relevant resources like the office you can get accommodations from) is paramount to a smoother learning experience. - remind yourself that everyone else is more focused on themselves than they are on you. It has helped me get over alot of my own issues with confidence and overthinging what to do. This short was interesting to see what impacted other people that I wouldn't have noticed or encountered because of my interests and that I started college in 2017/2018.

Some tips from someone who has graduated! ❤️ For ANY class, unless you have assigned seating, sit at the front. You'll be a lot less distracted and will see the board easier (even if it's a projector). If your classes aren't back to back, try to get to class 5-10 minutes earlier to set up your stuff, grab a seat, use the bathroom, etc. Also helps you establish yourself as a "serious" student. Buy bulk food and prepare your own meals! College cafeteria food can get EXPENSIVE so save money where you can (this is more for if you live in dorms/on your own)! Bring clothes that are interchangeable and that can be easily layered so you can do laundry less frequently and have outfits for different seasons. Air your clothes out when you get home/back to the dorm so you can wear them for multiple days (use dryer sheets for smelly shoes)! Always carry a large notebook even if you have a tablet/laptop in case they die/get left behind (this should be a given, but mechanical pencils, erasers, and ballpoint pens are a must as well). MAKE FRIENDS OUTSIDE OF YOUR CLASSES! Don't stick with the same people, connections are EVERYTHING when you graduate!!! Go to your common area (resting/study/cafeteria area) and find people who have similar interests. MANAGE YOUR WORK/PERSONAL LIFE WISELY. KEEP A SCHEDULE.
well, everything was perfectly fine until the last paragraphs. like girl, "connection" is nothing if you don't study. Plus i noticed that only americans have some kind of obsession about making "friends and connections".
I mean, my campus is decently small, but I have made dozens of buddies there and I've learned how to naturally socialize. I think high schoolers need to experience a realistic educational/living environment for adults rather than 14-18yr olds. it's veeeeeery different. bills, homework, chores, hygiene, food, and so much more are their responsibility now, so I understand wanting someone that can support you and help to make things normal and easy. I'm more grateful for my roommate than I've ever been, and I'm so glad where I landed. relationships are important man.

I absolutely love walking in the rain, which is pretty funny considering the fact that I have major storm anxiety on occasion, it tends to come and go apparently. The rain is super refreshing and the crack of lightning and thunder adds some thrill to the calming weather, keeping it from getting boring.
I actually love that at the beginning of the day even tho things went “wrong” you didn’t let it ruin your whole day. That’s awesome and an amazing mindset. Also both outfits were/ are super cute!
I lowkey miss this, but I don't plan on starting over. Undergrad is definitely a unique time of your life. One advice: experience it, take it (almost) all in. No one cares about what grades you graduated with after you get your degree. Don't kill yourself over classes, but also give a damn about them.
@@SarahDenna thanks for that. I'm not personally looking to continue (at least not now). I'm definitely gonna be fine if I choose to pursue it, but in my day to day it hasn't mattered. It's just my experience and some things students encounter- I wish I lived a little.
If you have a plan (i.e., you know what your future career is and have a plan to achieve it) do it. If you don't (i.e., you're only going to uni for social aspect), don't. There are better and way cheaper alternatives to get yourself socially active. Uni is really for people that want to get degrees and a white collar career.
Things not to do -walk to class -wear jeans -sit in the back -think your computer is charging -get food in your system -change your outfit -see snacks or booths? -head to your next class -go into project management -find t-shirts especially for engineers -get photos -let it rain -let people walk in peace instead of recording then and going "you don't have to be like him, you could be like her" as you point the camera at an umbrella instead of a person.

I feel like that raining part with the girl and boy could be the most perfect romance scene. Eww, do community college first, you're throwing away so much money for no difference in the long run.

My first day of college, I didn't know we don't get the traditional lunch period like in high school, so I just sat around all day wondering when was lunch period. Then me and two other girls decided to skip class to grab something to eat.
8 years later, we're still best friends.

I’m thankful for people who post their college experiences so I don’t make the same mistakes ❤
I lowkey miss this, but I don't plan on starting over. Undergrad is definitely a unique time of your life.
One advice: experience it, take it (almost) all in. No one cares about what grades you graduated with after you get your degree. Don't kill yourself over classes, but also give a damn about them.
Not true if you are going to continue with further education (grad school, med school etc..). They care about your grades A LOT
@@SarahDenna thanks for that. I'm not personally looking to continue (at least not now). I'm definitely gonna be fine if I choose to pursue it, but in my day to day it hasn't mattered. It's just my experience and some things students encounter- I wish I lived a little.

Make smart choices
Dont
If you have a plan (i.e., you know what your future career is and have a plan to achieve it) do it. If you don't (i.e., you're only going to uni for social aspect), don't. There are better and way cheaper alternatives to get yourself socially active. Uni is really for people that want to get degrees and a white collar career.

whenever I see videos like these I'm like, ah yes, someone older than me
fully forgetting that I'm in university
I'm sorry but that guy HAS MY RESPECT. He's literally so chill LIKE-
Pro tip: get yourself a little mini umbrella! Its tiny, so will always fit easily into a backpack/tote, and costs
Man, I can't wait to have 100 exams an hour-
Things not to do
-walk to class
-wear jeans
-sit in the back
-think your computer is charging
-get food in your system
-change your outfit
-see snacks or booths?
-head to your next class
-go into project management
-find t-shirts especially for engineers
-get photos
-let it rain
-let people walk in peace instead of recording then and going "you don't have to be like him, you could be like her" as you point the camera at an umbrella instead of a person.
So u can’t get food in ur system
Man, you’re lucky you’re in college, keep striving
