For me, most colony building games (Towns, Rimworld, ect.) are kinda cool, but then I think why would I play them when I can just play Dwarf Fortress? Sure, in towns you are exploring a dungeon with heroes, but that is not where most of the time is spent. That said, I do kinda wanna play towns again sometime, but not really, but kinda. It was the first game I ever modded (and one of the only, I tried minecraft but didn't get anything to work, also did slight modifications to kobold cave), so it is a big game for me.
I agree, bit I do like Rimworld for its nice art style (similar to Prison Architect), and it still has a good amount of complexity. I will be playing Dwarf Fortress however on the channel, and maybe Towns if people want it. I also have tried my hand in modding both Towns and Dwarf Fortress, yet to try Rimworld (it does have good mod support and a fantastic modding community however).
Yeah, I think the people do look a bit weird, but I can agree it does have a nice art style. I think I would like a Towns playthrough, but you would probably want to know that at least a few more people would want it before diving in and doing it. for a few years now, I have thought of Dwarf Fortress as the best game ever made, and I really like ASCII graphics. The two mods I remember doing for Towns (I don't think I posted any) are 1) a mod for being able to turn wood into coal at a burner, and 2) a mod for undead minions, I think I made a necromancy table that used the sprite for a stone table, at which you could make skeletons that looked like sips skeleton, and you could place them on the map at specific spots. I tried to make them follow guard posts I think, don't know if I got that to work. I tried to make a second type that stayed still, but I don't think that quite worked properly. I also tried to make zombie minions that would act like townspeople, but all I managed to do was make townspeople themselves.
Terraria looks a bit different
#Mr Rimworld
