the songs in order: 0:08 - shall I compare thee 33:18 - journeys end in lovers meeting 34:53 - hold thy peace, thou knave 41:45 - come away, come away, death 59:22 - foggy dew 1:49:00 - with hey, ho, the wind and the rain
This was the best play I found to watch for my GCSEs. Funny they miss out a lot of lines, I was trying to read the play along side watching it and it was confusing since a few pages were completely missed out or changed. Perfect tho, thanks
Anytime a play of Shakespeare is performed there is a very good chance that lines and even entire scenes are cut from the performance. Perhaps it is because the style of acting has changed in the last 500 years. Every play of Shakespeare that I acted in had cut lines and cut scenes.
Lemme confess, I'm not a fan of english songs that much but the one sung at the beginning of this play was just ethereal. Can someone please tell me what is this song's name.
I believe that it is Shakespeare's Sonnet 18. It's not usually sung at the beginning of this play. At least I don't think so. But they are not so true to the original in this production.
It was very good! I do wish however the ending would've been respected, but the song really gave the play closure. Overall amazing actors that brought the characters alive
Man, I wonder if someone could make a version of this tale in Which Olivia & Viola do end up together, mainly due to Maldovio actually also being of what they would call a "heretical heart". For it would be Him & Sebastian mayhaps?????
Malvolio and Sebastian does Sebastian dirty but yeah, I lowkey wanted Olivia & Viola to end up together, although that was a crime when this was written
Whatever other travesties happen to Shakespeare's work, such as the ghastly song at the beginning of the slaughtering of the English language it should be illegal to perform any of his plays, sonnets etc. in an American accent.
Imagine writing a play and people are still doing it 400 years later
Fr tho and it’s still funny now
Wrong ! The Greeks did that 2,000 years earlier !
@@josephonwhidbey The Greeks did what? Twelfth Night?
@@Ryan-is-me NO ! other plays !
@@josephonwhidbey The Greeks could have done Twelfth Night if they did it in English or if they translated it
