Amitabh Bachchan was very farsighted for his time. Even though ABCL failed, it was a venture way ahead of its time that proved to be a trailblazer for several production companies like SRK's Red Chillies and others who followed its business model.
Frankly a lot of injustice was done to Sunny Deol. Yash Chopra narrated the script separately to Sunny Deol and SRK and Sunny was never told that SRK's character was gonna be glorified and shown in a sympathetic light as also was gonna be given more prominence. Chopra slyly tried to cash in on Sunny's stardom then by presenting him as the hero as SRK was not a big star as yet while intending to give the meatier part to SRK. I totally sympathize with Sunny.
Spawn of Punk glorified? How did they gave sympathy to srk? Yes by giving him the role of VILLIAN! Yes right! Sunny deol who back then was interviewed said “i knew the role and everything and the only people who liked srk’s performance are on hands at the end the hero is the hero” please check that too! Sunny deol was, is, will never be a great actor! He is star who’s time has passed and the things which he is saying now is totally rubbish? Have you seen the original movie ‘FEAR’ if they knew the original plot how can they say such stuff! It just shows how sunny deol is self centric and attention seeker! If someone did exceptionally great than them, they should applaud it!
@@Ajinkyachavan. Except that the role of the villain was written in a sympathetic light and yes was glorified. Sunny wasn't made aware of Yash Chopra's intentions and that was his only grouse. Nothing else. SRK's time is over now. So guys should stop your ass-licking.
@@saffronwarrior355 honestly when we all watched the movie....was it the charcater development of srk's role that people appreciated or his acting and the feel that he produced. It was his acting. No matter how meatier a person gets a role or what kind of backdrop a character is given...it just adds on to the character but it is the acting that people remember and first appreciate. It was srk's acting that people loved first not the backdrop of the charcater. It was sunny deol who could not produce an effective heroic charcater against a powerful villain . If u act the same way as any normal hero in a mediocre hero and villian movie u can't expect people to love u for it . Srk gave a stellar performance and hence deserved all that.
@@prithagore4870 The "acting" or the "feel" generated by it is ultimately dependent on the way the character arc is written in the screenplay as also the direction of the film. Don't forget that before Darr SRK had given underwhelming performances in films like Deewana and Dil Aashna Hain (his very first films), 'coz the direction and screenplay of these films was weak. While Sunny was a powerhouse performer with films like Ghaayal, Damini, etc and was indeed a more popular actor than SRK. It was the manner of projecting the anti-hero in a sympathetic light and glorifying him that kinda turned the tables and gave SRK a springboard. So yeah it is ultimately all an outcome of the screenplay and direction.
Can you do a video all about the Rekha Amitabh and Jaya triangle? And specifically about the making of Silsila. It's a great film but I just can't understand how the actors decided to do when the line between real and reel was so blurred.
I will always hate the fact that sunny deol things he was sidelined or something! He was the ‘HERO’ of the movie which he choose and was proud of but the performance of SRK in darr was so ground breaking for any star even other deol as bobby who played the role of ‘HERO’ in ajnabee got overshadowed by the performance of AKSHAY kumar! See the thing is acting and the risk you take they both took risk because they had nothing to fear off! Srk and akshay coming from nothing took risks and payed the path for themselves if star kids like sunny deol are feared by performance of back then no one then it just shows ‘papa ke dum pr sab nhi hota’
@@alyoshapopovich491 but one thing i didnt understand is that why sunny deol was not informed earlier. SRK was a relatively unknown face . So yash chopra and co did not need to be in the good books of srk. Also there is a element of risk. If srk was a big star then i could understand . But thats not the case whats the logic behind it. Please explain
Alyosha Popovich woooow facepalm to me. I never knew all this info. Thanks. Nepotism is real. Hate it or love it. 😁 But let’s not pretend that we don’t want the best for our future or present kids. @@saikhomamarjitsingh7185 I guess Yash Chopra was trying to break new ground or something with the reintroduction of the anti-hero in Bollywood. But since it was a risk he played his cards well by projecting Sunny as the hero saving the day as was the norm at that time while quietly giving more prominence to SRK. Or perhaps since SRK was too unconventional in his looks he felt that he would do well as a villain but over the course of the film decided to experiment with SRK's character. Either way Sunny was cheated by Chopra. He should have made his intentions known to Deol. Like in Deewar, Amitabh Bachchan was the anti-hero and his character was gonna be written in a more sympathetic manner and given more prominence. Chopra made this known to Shashi Kapoor who was the bigger star then and the latter was cool with it and had no issues with Amitabh and they remained friends for the rest of their lives. If only Yash Chopra had been a bit more transparent with Sunny Deol, things would have been different.

Amitabh Bachchan was very farsighted for his time. Even though ABCL failed, it was a venture way ahead of its time that proved to be a trailblazer for several production companies like SRK's Red Chillies and others who followed its business model.
welcome to new episode of frank bollywood!
@@Ajinkyachavan. Fear was a remake of Darr
Dude Rekha just mind fucked Simi Garewal 😂

Sad
But thats not the case
whats the logic behind it.
Please explain
Alyosha Popovich woooow facepalm to me. I never knew all this info. Thanks. Nepotism is real. Hate it or love it. 😁 But let’s not pretend that we don’t want the best for our future or present kids. If I had the chance, I would give my future kids the best too. It’s just natural. Unfair. But natural.
@@saikhomamarjitsingh7185 if sunny deol was informed, he wouldn't have done that film. Infact no prominent star would have done that film.
@@marmar9957 Agreed. But it's the hypocrisy and pretence that guys like SRK put up, of being "self-made" and stuff that's annoying.

Late Smt. Jayalalitha ji's interview on Simi Garewal's show was another epic one. She revealed so many things that her fans may not even know. Its A must watch!
An excerpt of this has been recreated in "Queen" performed by Ramya Krishnan.

The rekha one was my favourite the look at simi at the end was priceless🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 she was like "duh and i am madhuri dixit"
Simi's expression after Rekha's statement is meme material
The hilarious part that made my day - Simi gharewal's reaction after Rekha's secret confession.😄😄.. she was expecting something else.😄😄
Did you just see the expression of the reporter when Rekha says "Do you want to know the truth, it is going to be a headline"😂😂
Yea, and after even she told that there was no personal connection, the reaction was golden from Garewal 😂
She's not a reporter. She's a leading lady of Bollywood.
Have some respect for Simi Garewal. It actually makes it interesting when she interviews. It's her show.
And she has the experience of being the insider as a heroine for decades.
Simi Garewal was almost at the edge of her seat as she expected a blast to come out and become a trp boosting promo of her show..
That "huh" was damn funny 😂
ankitsalsa14 Simi probably knows the truth. She wanted it out which didn’t happen eventually. Watch the whole interview. There is so much depth in Rekha’s words. The few answers she gives as the one above seems so real you almost believe it.
I never knew shushmita Sen had an adrenal crises. That's so heart breaking. I knew about Amitabh Bachchan's myasthenia (we have MCQ questions on it too).
After Rekha's statement at the end , the coffin meme dance seems fitting for Simmi Grewal . 🤣
I really don’t get Sunny’s logic. You are supposed to be unharmed just because you are the main lead. The fact that he saw logic in his opinion even after all these years is straight up embarrassing.
I mean, logic dictates quite opposite of what he states. And unhinged person is more likely to do more damage, simply because they have no morals, empathy or decency. They're not going to think of you as a human being.
