The Athenians were, loving pretty boys being part of Eros, but Socrates does not hint at it without irony and Plato eventually in the laws said it was a vice leading to other vices. Platonic means love without sex, the higher form of love for Plato for that reason. Like love between brothers, teacher and student, friends.
