A great help if you're stagnating is to just watch some replays. You're bound to find some new tech for your team you never thought of. I just found a new Frieza combo I never would have thought of otherwise and had it in my arsenal within 6 minutes in the lab.
Couldn't agree more! Watching your own replays is also another way at finding flaws in your own gameplay, long story short keep the replay channel in mind!
This video may sound repetitive for those that have been watching my channel for a while, (Thanks by the way!) I wanted to make a one stop shop for anybody brand new to fighting games so that they could learn as much as they can without having to watch six of my videos. I also feel that this is just a better video in general as I have access to training mode now! If you see any new players in the comments that I missed please do me a favor and help them out!
I gotta say even if you have played some fighting games before this stuff is golden. I have been playing Dragon Ball fighting games all the way back from the first Budokai games and to the latest Xenoverse 2 but having been so used to those games is making FighterZ a lot harder for me since so many of the tools i'm used to having in my arsenal in those games are gone, like the Vanish and such which i'm used to using to get out of sticky situations and now when i play FighterZ my first instinct is to try and teleport out of hits which just can't be done and that trips me up so back to basics like this is very valuable so thank you for this video its helped a lot.
Take it slow when learning your basics! Try to make sure that when you go online you take your time to make sure that every move you perform is something that you thought about ahead of time!
Long time sub and I still watch the recent ones and I finally got this game sadly I still have no internet. But would love to still play and I watched this to finally know how to play. Hope to be a krillin main like you my boi.
Do you have a video on button mashing and a way to break that habit? If not you should make when since a lot of newer players will just button smash which is a bad habit. I try to stop mashing in practice (vs training mode) but once i hit online i regress back since more is happening and do auto combos which get punished when i should manuals to mix up my overheads and lows
Awesome video! I just bought this game, with all its DLCs, cause I am a huge fan of DragonBall but I am new to a fighting game - well, I played Virtua Fighter 1 and 2 back in the 90's, if that counts ;-)
Well, after one week and about 2h per day of playing the game, I must say I am still confused and so far my problems are: 1) I play on a Desktop so that A, B, X, Y, etc... is really confusing to me since I have never played/used a XBox or Playstation controller, so far I have bound them to the NumPad keys on the right side of the keyboard since it seems more suitable to my hands/arms; 2) I have tried/played (practice mode) a bit of every char. and so far I have enjoyed few, such as: Hit, Cell, Freeza, Yamcha and Gohan Adult, however I am really struggling to pick three; 3) I have looke a bit on those combos that the in-game menu shows but since each char. has its owns, whenever I switch a char. I am messing everything - well, all in all, I really like the game but since I am not a Fighter Player, it seems really hard to get started.
I still need to learn how to quickly recover after getting hit since the CPU in training seems to recover way faster than me... Perhaps a short video segment about this?
For years to come The day I get a console The day I play this game It's gonna take a long time But sacrifice for the thing you love Is worth it Work hard play hard Tie you're life to a goal Not to people or things the roots are bitter But the fruit is sweet Thanks
The first thing *the game* _suggests_ doing is to play the story and or do the tutorial, there's a Z Dojo that teaches everything beyond that, and the only thing a new player would really need to do outside of the game is learning combo *extensions* that's all really.
DotoDoya Ik man. I'm glad to see it's paying off as well. Because it's tough just starting out and not having many views. It's discouraging because of how much work a well edited vid takes. But I'm glad to see you pretty much broke the barrier to where you have a substantial amount of views each vid. I hope I'll get that someday, but It just sounds overwhelming right now
I mean I want to start up a series of videos where I look at some footage from my viewers and analyze their gameplay so in reality I could always just help you out for no charge!
I appreciate that but I am absolutely horrible lol. Like, not a lot of experience with fighting games. So I can't help you there since everything I do is a mistake haha. I just need tightening up. even if that means you beating my ass for an hour straight and telling me what to do or how to counter it throughout the matches.
Hey man. Loving your videos. Was wondering if you offered any sort of tutoring or analysis services? Played a few fighters in the past but FighterZ has inspired me to actually learn this genre rather than button mash it. Keep up the great work!
I want to eventually do a series where I look at some submitted videos and analyze them, but I haven't done any 1 on 1 stuff though. If you have some gameplay you want me to watch I would be down to help out!
DotoDoya that sounds like an awesome series. Ideally what I'd like to do is have someone look at matches I lost to help me identify what I did wrong and could improve upon. I'll get the footage uploaded first thing and throw it your way :)
Trying to learn the universal combo. Just can't get the b move to hit them up in the air... down B seems to push them down for me not up.. and up b doesn't seem to be a thing. nappa, 16, and buu are my fav characters. I'm really struggling with this game.
Not every character can do the bnb, they have to have certain move strings for it to work correctly, characters like beerus, broly, gt goku, Napa, etc can’t do the universal bnb, try it with ssgoku first to see how it works, then find what characters it works with.
I'm not new to fighting games in a sense I did play the og arcade marvel vs capcom and tekken ect but it's been some years I'm curious what's a good way to learn how to jump cancel to extend my combos I'm having trouble understanding whenever I push the button during a combo I always knock them down instead. Also enjoy the videos
start off with something small in size, try doing down medium, medium and then jump cancel into a button! than another medium and then jump and spam lights! Get the timing down and your all good!
Hey i started playing this game yesterday. And my friend is just smashing the autocombo nothing else but still I couldnt get a good opening to punish him. Any help??
I've always been really *really* bad at 2D fighting games and I'm really *really* trying but I always end up button mashing and if I don't button mash then I only end up doing little to no damage and I fail the quarter circle+button layout it doesn't recognize my quarter circle what am I doing wrong pls help
Check out my video on how to stop mashing, I think the answer might be in there! The best tip i can give you is to just treat ranked matches as practice you need to get used to the feeling of stress!
GREAT VIDEO! QQ: I will practice blocking better with the CPU. But from what I tried in arena yesterday (daily quest of 5 arenas played), I kept losing because I have no idea how to retaliate! I am good if I am just aggressive and do auto-combos (for now), but as soon as I try to learn blocking, I have no idea how to retaliate :( Help DotoDoya!
"Normal" is any move that's not a "Special", so Light, Medium and Heavy are all normals (Special moves are the ones that need the quarter circle motion on the dpad). Your fastest normal is usually a Light.
You can just show him some tutorial videos online and make sure you let him know anything that you might know! Other than that you can ask him what he specifically is having a hard time with
New to the game today and honestly crappjng myself incase I run into one of the three idiots. If anyone else is looking to down load this game there's a massive discount. Check it out seriously. I got the whole game and all dlc for £45 something like that on ps store
Ah, don't worry about it. newbies will pick it all up and learn what it means eventually! If they're going to play fighting games, guess the 'jargon' is also something they'll learn to absorb too!
A great help if you're stagnating is to just watch some replays. You're bound to find some new tech for your team you never thought of. I just found a new Frieza combo I never would have thought of otherwise and had it in my arsenal within 6 minutes in the lab.

Can I watch my own replays through the replay channel?
Yes!
This video may sound repetitive for those that have been watching my channel for a while, (Thanks by the way!) DotoDoya how do you block Ariel attack’s while in the air

It’s weird to see my man Doto at the beginning, happy to see how much forward you went from this video ❤️
This channel is gonna explode soon! Game is fresh and amazing and im a beginner to this genre of fighting game as well. Im learning!
Cant wait to see what the future of this game has for us!
DotoDoya me too man! Im really excited!
Ohma damn look at him now
Damn you were right lmao
Thanks for all the help. I really appreciate all the work you’ve put in for us beginners
No problem, Thank you for watching!
This video is hugely underrated, one of the better beginner guides I've seen
Thanks dude!
Thanks man. This is my first fighting game. Currently I’ve done 113 matches and only won 34. I’ve been so frustrated and trying to get better
Take it slow when learning your basics! Try to make sure that when you go online you take your time to make sure that every move you perform is something that you thought about ahead of time!
Thanks man for the content. Liked and subbed. I've started to finally make some progress in ranked because of you!
Long time sub and I still watch the recent ones and I finally got this game sadly I still have no internet. But would love to still play and I watched this to finally know how to play. Hope to be a krillin main like you my boi.
Bro i just started fighterz and these videos are helping me learn things other than auto combos
You're still earning subscribers with this video 3 years later.
Thank you so much I don’t care that this was made 5 years ago you helped a lot thank doto
I love your videos! You help all the new players including myself. If you stay consistent you will be big! I can’t wait to be here and watch you grow!
I'm so happy to hear you are enjoying the videos! I'm trying to put out at least a video a day and plan on streaming regularly as well!
I’ll be here for the ride man! Keep it up!
@@novagames7610 Oh Trust Me he's grown
I watch these now and dude you got so godly lol
The biggest thing I'm struggling with is moving around the screen effectively, especially in the air. Would appreciate a video going through that
Bro I didn't even recognize your voice! Still the GOAT tho
Sounds so different now😂
The legend himself.
What’s funny is I still don’t know what’s happening and been playing since day one
Do you have a video on button mashing and a way to break that habit? If not you should make when since a lot of newer players will just button smash which is a bad habit.

I ENVY YOUR MOTIVATION FOR DAILY UPLOADS
Its a surprising amount of work, but i love putting out these videos!

Question: how much would you charge for an hour session? Serious question

Aw man I'm on both PC and xbox. Would have been more than willing to help you out!

Lol even tho almost all I play is fighting games I watched this and I can say it's pretty usefull
This channel is ESSENTIAL READING
Been trying to do the quick air dash like you do in the video, but I just want, I guess I need a fight stick 😭

Almost 2K subs hype
Bro if you see this comment, I cant stress enough about how surprised I am on how much youve grown as a content creator. I almost didn’t recognize you
You can actually reflect a kamehameha but I'm not sure about the one that takes up 1 meter bar
Yeah you can reflect most supers!
Hey i started playing this game yesterday. And my friend is just smashing the autocombo nothing else but still I couldnt get a good opening to punish him. Any help??
Awesome video! What font do u use for the thumbnails?
Saiyan sans
How do you block arial attack’s
I’m on ps4 and whenever I try to dash it doesn’t work and it just stops midway through the movement animation any tips??
Is it just me or doses anyone else have trouble doing the quarter circle moves? Using Xbox pc controller analog stick
Quick question, since you’re playing on Xbox what are your thoughts on the elite controller for the circle d pad for better quarter circle movements?
I haven't really gotten the chance to try out the elite controller for fighting games actually, though I've been meaning to try it out!
whats a jump cancel
Block + B spammers tutorial please
Im new to figthing games and this is gonna be my first one im getting it in april will i get rekt online everytime and get better?
If you practice a good amount and dont get frustrated you will be fine!
I've always been really *really* bad at 2D fighting games and I'm really *really* trying but I always end up button mashing and if I don't button mash then I only end up doing little to no damage and I fail the quarter circle+button layout it doesn't recognize my quarter circle what am I doing wrong pls help

how to play on pc

I am good if I am just aggressive and do auto-combos (for now), but as soon as I try to learn blocking, I have no idea how to retaliate :( Help DotoDoya!
You have to look for an opening! When you see one throw out your fastest normal twice, if they block it you block if it hits you start a combo!
"Normal" is Medium? Might kill 2 CPU on practice to only have one left, set his ki bar to 0 and try it to start slowly, thanks!
"Normal" is any move that's not a "Special", so Light, Medium and Heavy are all normals (Special moves are the ones that need the quarter circle motion on the dpad). Your fastest normal is usually a Light.
I'm on Xbox one... what platform do you play on? I could really use some fighter friendz to enhance the experience!
I'm on xbox one and pc
All turning the CPU level to 100 did was make it so I get continuously level 5’d.
Hey can you help me? I want to make my friend improve, since he’s a xenoverse 2 player.
You can just show him some tutorial videos online and make sure you let him know anything that you might know! Other than that you can ask him what he specifically is having a hard time with
DotoDoya well he struggles with blocking and says he can’t move when he’s getting combod
Cheers!
Try Button smashing thats a good trick 😂
How about no. That's not fun.
6:10 (this is for personal use to know where the combo is in the video)

Notification Squad!
Props! You got here before I did!
Hi
Hi!

This was base Doto😂😂
Games way to chaotic
Doesn’t even sound like my man Doto
You're using a looooooot of jargon for beginners, my dude.
Damn I guess honestly slipped my mind your right!
Ah, don't worry about it. newbies will pick it all up and learn what it means eventually! If they're going to play fighting games, guess the 'jargon' is also something they'll learn to absorb too!
*And I oop*
doto sounds wasted XD
Im just getting boddied lmfao 💀 this games not for me im going back to dbx2
Easy, cry on a corner... this is not your game.
