i think the important thing to remember as a fan is that art is not *made for* us viewers so much as *shared with* us. At the end of the day, this is the artist's work, and their decision as how they're making it. It seems almost rude to complain and demand that they do so differently. Even though I personally love custom dolls that lean into the more inhuman aspects of the character, it would be so incredibly rude to demand that everyone else caters to my specific taste!! I love how GLAMOROUS you make these dolls look!!! I've only recently discovered your channel and I think this art style is gorgeous!!! I think it's very neat how you tint the monster high dolls skintones (which often come in bright pinks or greens) into more of a fleshtone. Very cool!!! I love the way you did this doll's make up - the gold in her eye makeup looks very cool, and the way you did the eye shadow gives it a lot of depth. Love it!!

I'm really big into anthropomorpic stuff myself, always have been, but i deeply appreciate your realistic, fashion forward art style. I find it silly that people question why you would do something obviously stylistic. By that logic, we could argue "oh its such a shame you remove the factory paint! The doll is so pretty as is, why change it?" To make something that makes you happy. Key word: YOU. Keep doing what you're doing. Who cares what other people think? Your work is incredible as it is. Of course i wouldnt mind if you tried something new and made something anthropomorphic, but hey, thats not your thing and i can appreciate that and never expected it from you anyway. Love your work! I watch some artists who always cut the ears off and others who sometimes leave them on and sometimes take them off and they sometimes take off the ears and add new ones that fit their concept art. It's all about the style and aesthetic the artist is aiming for. I love it all!

In my opinion, you are the Artist. These are your Dolls and your Style for her. So it's your choice, if you cut the ears or not. You DO this work, so you could do whatever you want to do.

Alright people. Just because you like the dolls with animal characteristics does not mean every artist is obliged to re-paint a doll that has some animal characteristics. You don’t know what she does off of UA-cam. For all you know she could be trying to learn how to draw cartoons on a computer. I’ll be honest. Some of the dolls aren’t my favorite because of how contoured they are. BUT EVERY SINGLE ONE OF HER CREATIONS IS STUNNING. No one can do eyes like Poppen. And it’s called style. Every artist has one. It’s like asking Picasso, “oh, I don’t really like how they eyes aren’t even and the color is unrealistic, could you maybe, you know, not do abstract art anymore?” ....for real. Anyhoo. LOVE this doll.

Every doll artist has their own vision. The famous artists of the past brought something unique to their dolls and so it is with you. What a boring place it would be if everyone had the same vision! You do what you love and let the others do their thing, it is what makes you unique. This doll especially reminds me of the original Barbie with her half closed eyes and classic pout. Back in the day, Barbie was THE fashion doll. Even though there were many fashion dolls, Barbie was unique with her petite size. My Miss Nancy Anne is smaller and has more features than Barbie...but Barbie became the icon that she is. It is amazing what will catch the public's fancy at any one time. So, you do what is beautiful to you and just ignore those who don't like your work.

You are one of my favourite doll artists, I have watched so many of your videos and I hadn't even noticed that you don't do anthropomorphic creatures, which I love by the way. Your dolls are absolutely magical just the way they are. I think that just like in music, in other art forms you go to the artist who does the thing that calls you at that precise moment. Watching you work is a joy and a learning process for me, I have just started my own journey as a doll artist and I'm laughing at my first attempts. I think I get more pastels on myself than on any doll. :D

I definitely understand how you feel about the animal faces I bought my first BB girl from China and she came with her human face on and 2 animal faces that you can change, 1 is a pig and the other is a fox or something like that I'll have to look again, but I agree with you about that. ❤😊

it's your doll, you can do what you want. you paid for it so don't let those people give you hell about cutting off doll ears. it's ridiculous that people are so angry over a monster high doll. get over it people. God so many morons out there these day's.
I personally prefer the more anthro look as it makes it look much more interesting and more...Dynamic, I guess? It's unusual so it tends to draw the viewer's eyes to it much more easily, so there's that. And because it's not meant to be completely realistic, anthro styles mean you can get away with much more extreme, unusual or just plain weird styles that just wouldn't work as well on a human design (slit pupils, fangs, whiskers, etc). However, ultimately, you should challenge yourself, regardless of what you prefer. If your art is too easy to where your mind is on auto pilot each time you draw/paint/whatever, you need to shake it up every now and then, even if it's something as little as using an unusual color palette. My problem with some artists isn't when they just draw what they like, but when they refuse to experiment and don't want to try anything new, even if it'd better their skills in the future. As long as you keep an open mind and don't be afraid to try anything new, then I don't see the problem tbh.
+Galactic Licorice I respect your position but I don't think that artists should "challenge themselves regardless of what they prefer", I think every artist should do what he likes to do and what inspires him. Should for example some Lady Gaga start singing country just to challenge herself and to see if she doesn't miss anything in her music career? Or should Paul McCartney go with some hardcore hiphop just for challenge? I can work in different styles, I know what I can as an artist and what I prefer. So why should I do something I don't like? For example, I don't watch/read manga and fantasy, I could bear maybe just 10 min of it in my whole life, so I just never see all those fantastic creatures, and how can I create dolls inspired by something I don't know? It's like if I would ask you to make a collection of dolls inspired by musicians from 18th century - you just know nothing about it, it's another world for you. The same with me and fantastic creatures. All these conversations about experimenting are good for people under 18 years old all but I'm almost double as old and I know what I do, I don't need to try something weird to see what I can do))
In other words, stay in your lane. She can do what she wants. It's her art, and not up to you to tell her what she "needs" to do. If anthropomorphic dolls are what you like, then buy one. Leave Maryna alone. Maybe challenge yourself to mind your own business, regardless of what you prefer. 😉

Gorgeous, and of course, this is only a suggestion but could you try making a doll with ears or a tail or fantasy colours or maybe just an animal nose? Something that might be a challenge and different? You could even blush the rest of the body but not the ears and nose and it could be a costume? But like I'm said just a suggestion! Love your work!

As long as you keep an open mind and don't be afraid to try anything new, then I don't see the problem tbh.
+Galactic Licorice I respect your position but I don't think that artists should "challenge themselves regardless of what they prefer", I think every artist should do what he likes to do and what inspires him. Should for example some Lady Gaga start singing country just to challenge herself and to see if she doesn't miss anything in her music career? Or should Paul McCartney go with some hardcore hiphop just for challenge? I can work in different styles, I know what I can as an artist and what I prefer. So why should I do something I don't like? For example, I don't watch/read manga and fantasy, I could bear maybe just 10 min of it in my whole life, so I just never see all those fantastic creatures, and how can I create dolls inspired by something I don't know? It's like if I would ask you to make a collection of dolls inspired by musicians from 18th century - you just know nothing about it, it's another world for you. The same with me and fantastic creatures. All these conversations about experimenting are good for people under 18 years old all but I'm almost double as old and I know what I do, I don't need to try something weird to see what I can do))
In other words, stay in your lane. She can do what she wants. It's her art, and not up to you to tell her what she "needs" to do. If anthropomorphic dolls are what you like, then buy one. Leave Maryna alone.
Maybe challenge yourself to mind your own business, regardless of what you prefer. 😉
I really share your aesthetic.... I too dislike the animal human crosses. But ...l appreciate all art for sure! I just wouldnt be keeping my animal ears on my dolls because either , l like human dolls. It's called...To Each His Own.❤

I guess she means a look that feels less like she made up for a night out but more a "End of the day chilling on the couch" look with less "make up (maybe arund the eyes?)
Gorgeous, and of course, this is only a suggestion but could you try making a doll with ears or a tail or fantasy colours or maybe just an animal nose? Something that might be a challenge and different? You could even blush the rest of the body but not the ears and nose and it could be a costume? But like I'm said just a suggestion! Love your work!

OMG YES!!! Im actually so happy to find someone who DOES cut the ears off. Im not into the anthropomorphic trend either, and I never will be. I just find them creepy and disgusting. But that's my personal opinion of course- like you, I would never go and attack people who DO like them. Im just not into that kind of stuff.
