Growing up on a farm in the 70's with my cousins here in southern NC, our fun would be considered dangerous in this woke society. one memory I recall was performing no-brake bike stunts over a canal full of "bra berries" in the summertime (hard thorny huckleberries bushes)…usually ending up miscalculating the canal width and plunging in the heart of the thorny depths of hell- along with the bike. Shear agony-dreading to move knowing MORE flesh and blood will need to be sacrificed to crawl out of the pit...no help from cousins-bent over laughing their guts out. happened on numerous occasions. Another pastime was playing football behind the bleachers with my classmates at a Friday night HS football game; a "balled up" Pepsi cup was used as a football. Usually ended with all of us sustaining purple bruises, black eyes, and busted lips...but it was FUN! Thank GOD I am a country boy!
