A really great saber for sure. On camera, the photon looked a little brighter though. You can tell because it seems to blur a little more making the blade look a little bit wider and the edge less defined vs. the NeoPixel. Maybe the in-person effect is different.

Just make sure u get the heavy grade neopixel blade if you're into HEAVY dueling (heavy hits/strikes), but if you just wanna duel for fun, like light-mid strength strikes, go for mid grade neopixel blade, trust me, it's worth it
Everytime I look at neopixels blades it looks so unnaturally bright, at least for my eyes. The single (and the greatest) pro is that neopixels are so evenly lit - and that is a big pro! But the fuzzy edges of the photon blade are more accurate, more like a solid core surrounded by a fuzzy aura. So...one single BIG plus for the neopixels: it is evenly lit. But that's all about, not its overly brightness. At least to my eyes and what is seen on photos and youtube videos. Anyway, to each his own; it seems you like that neo saber a lot and that's all that matters.

I am a newbie to lightsabers but I see how saber engineering is now quite impressive. But I have a vexing problem and that is when the blades are unlit they still look like toys. You are all much smarter than me so I am sure you think about this. It seems to be me, correct me if I'm wrong, that the blades used on sabers are off the shelf tubing that's been modified. I was wondering why can't the lightsaber community come together and crowd source the funding to invent a new kind of tubing specifically for lightsabers? For instance, How about engineering a collapsible tube where the folds are micro folds, undetectable to the eye. There would have to be a way to make sure when the tube expands that it is lit either from inside the tube or the LED's could be embedded in the tube material itself so that the illusion would be complete. Maybe you could start a Kickstarter page to crowd fund the research and development by a materials scientist? So what do you think? If Elon Musk can land a rocket on a platform in the ocean then maybe this task wouldn't be so difficult. Your thoughts?
Whats your runtime on this. I mean I've heard people get anywhere from 40 minutes to an hour or 30 to 40 minutes. I hear that there's 30% less battery life when using a neopixel versus like a tri Cre setup. I mean like what you're doing now you've probably done what we've all done everyday we pick it up we swinging around for 10 to 15 minutes then we put it down. But to me for longevity when I'm cosplaying at conventions I generally leave my saber on as much as possible
The Broken One it doesn’t have a white core in real life. But it is very bright. However, it’s no miracle, if you switch it on outside on a bright day you won’t see much. But its definitely brighter than tri cree, even brighter than a photon blade.
Neopixel blade eats too much energy from battery. If you want to workout outside for a couple of hours, tree-cree is better option. With a proper dayblade it will be even brighter. Of course, it can't beat neopixel, but, as i said before, neopixel is good for a short period of time.

You can’t order the Darth Vader saber from them now, it’s out of stock. I don’t think they will be doing any more. All of their other sabers are available with neopixel as an upgradable option.
Is your comparison fair on green ? isn't the photon blade best used for blue? could you make another vid with these two sabers with the blue? I would like to see that.
I haven't done a video, but I have tested it. dedicated blue with photon not really any brighter than the RGB mix with photon. And Neopixel is WAY brighter than both.

Leonard Lawrence yeah it really does hold up well. The one area (besides scrolling effect) that it really looses out is the brightness of FOC though.

John King yeah neopixel is the blade technology. Vader’s Vault call it Plecterpixel, same thing.

some companies build heavy grade neopixels ; there are vids on here of people testing them out by whacking them hard against trees. They hold up fine.

Adam Spencer yeah it does. I’d say to keep the balance point the same you’d want to go roughly 2” shorter than a normal thin wall blade.

You can change out the sound fonts. You can even get completely different sounds from saberfont.com
Did you opt for the RICE upgrade? what is it for?
Brickchamp rice is so that you can change your settings without removing the SD card, no I didn’t got for it.

This is the ESB spec, the ANH spec has shorter grips.

Thats only visible though the camera with the exposure dialled down to max, it is not visible to the naked eye.
Does that mean the camera has spotted a flaw in manufacture of the NeoP blade?

Maybe not, but you can get Vader's Vault stuff. Good luck ever finding a Hampton's blade anymore, the company is pretty much dead.
