Hey Jaclyn! Since I've started watching your videos (quite recently), I've picked up a few tricks, especially with eyeshadow, that has really driven my makeup game up. However, while watching your videos, I noticed that you tend to prefer narrating what you are currently doing. Obviously, this is effective in teaching us a lot of the techniques, but I also think that it would be great if you can say more about WHY your are doing that instead of simply describing WHAT you are doing. In this video, for example, you chose 2 different shades of concealer, and while we can see what you're doing with it, you didn't really give the rationale for such a choice. I think that explaining the reasoning behind the choices you make in putting together the looks would really take your tutorials a notch higher!
The first shade is closer to her foundation shade, and it's purpose is to conceal any imperfections or redness. The second shade is a few shades lighter and is used to create a natural highlight. You don't want to use the highlighting shade to conceal redness/imperfections because it will only draw attention to them. Hope this helped! :)
She tells you in older videos most don't specify because she's used to her audience already knowing from following so long. I'm sure she hasn't thought to update her info. But I'm sure she'll see this and take note!
True, I'd say she's repeated herself so many times she doesn't want to seem repetitive in each video. In an older video, she may mentioned things more in depth, but then the next not not so much - especially if it's a similar technique.

Just the way you give us, beginners, tips and tricks to achieve a more natural look is just amazing and it helps so much you don't even understand. I've tried a couple of the tips you've given us and they've worked wonders on my daily makeup routine. I just wanna say thank you for taking time to do these videos because they truly help a lot 💗
If you haven't done it already, I bought some empty powder jars on Amazon which have the sifter's in them so I just put my RCMA powder in that. Plus it takes up less space in my drawer!
Lol I think most of her looks are natural, to me. This is natural to me haha. I miss the good old warm more dramatic looks. I have hooded eyes so these kinds of looks appear like I have no shadow on most of the time.
lol I just hate the feeling of a lot of makeup on my face even if its really light weight. Specifically, I would like to see her do a look with something to make the lashes look thicker, natural blush and highlight, light contour, some fresh looking eyeshadow (like pink or something with a really defined crease), natural eyebrows (not using anastasia because even the new one is too harsh for me), and nude lips. She's done looks like that before (summery ones or like for the pool) but I want one that uses darker colors but very softly if that makes sense.
Please do a look without lashes. I really think a lot of the looks you do are really made with the lashes. So I want one that doesn't rely on lashes at all and just uses mascara. Does anyone know a UA-camr that doesn't use fake lashes? I would appreciate recommendations!
Abigail Burgner I disagree. It's probably just a matter of opinion and not a fact so no need to argue, but I think that fake lashes changes the dynamic of looks, and these looks that Jaclyn does frequently do not work without lashes IMO. Just an opinion, I am not trying to argue with anyone.

Totally agree. It seemed to add texture to her skin even on camera. Overall, I think the makeup is super pretty but I would have stopped at the hourglass powders. Maybe even applied them with a damp beauty blender. IMO

do you think that the lipsticks felt so dry because you had tried them all on and taking each one off had dried out your lips? I was just thinking this because they seemed to be more dry with each one you tried.
Yeah, and plus she didn't use the lip liners when she tried them on. Which is kinda the point of the creamy lip liner, so the liquid lipstick won't be so dry. She said the best one was KoKo K and that was the only one she used liner with. So I'm sure all the liquid lip colors are good as long as you use the lip liner.
On her snapchat like last week or something her and Jackie were playing with glitter eyeshadows that are SO beautiful. DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHAT THEY WERE?

However I do wish that you would branch out and use/recommend more products from the drugstore. Although I do spend WAAAAAAYYY too much money on makeup, there are just somethings that I can not afford or want to buy because they are so expensive. Something else you can do if you dont have a lip exfoliant is just when you're brushing your teeth use your toothbrush to buff your lips as well :) It's not a super glamorous technique I suppose but it works and saves some money xo

Okay, so with the issue with the hateful comments on your video... I guess I've never really read comments on anyone's videos, but I've been reading them the past couple of days on everyone's. And I just watched a Taylor swift Grammy video and read the comments. They were literally making me sick to my stomach, and they weren't even about me. What in the world is wrong with people, that they feel it so necessary to talk so bad about someone they don't know and probably never ever will know. It's beyond me how someone can take time out of there day to ruin someone else's. It's truly such a shame that people don't have more to do than trash talk someone else. Because you know what, those people, leaving the mean comments, there the ones whose sitting on there couch behind the computer wishing that one day they could be half as successful as them.
The internet gives people balls man. They think they're aren't repercussions to their actions... Usually when people say such nasty things it's coming from a dark place that person holds. And I think the only thing we can do is ignore them, because when we respond And give them the attention they are getting what they want.... Attention. Idk tho. It just makes me feel sorry for them

Yeah she does, it's her office/beauty space. It's easier to separate her home life and work life that way so it's not as stressful! She talked about it on Snapchat awhile back.
+unknownlove19 actually she said something bout it in one of her videos, she sufferes from derealisation, so she basically cant stop working, or better said: she cant enjoy her freetime, cause she has no official thing like us like coming home from work, cause her home was her workplace, since she hadnt have a kind of official office to work. she doesnt only apply make up in front of the camera, she also has cooperations with companies, where she has enough work i guess, also responding to emails and all this office stuff and paper work count; so maybe you think before you put out such negativity.
Much like an office :) I work from home but I have an office where I do my work, because I don't need to mix up my home life and work life. That's actually a super common "tip" for people who work from home. Especially if your job is something that involves a lot of products and space, but she couldn't do it at her house anymore because her husband needed room for his work "products" (drum kits) too, so they compromised and found her an office! See how easy the world is when you're understanding and not judgmental?
Some people like it and some people don't. I think she keeps it in there for the people that like it and the people that don't like it can just skip ahead. 😜

Lol I think most of her looks are natural, to me. This is natural to me haha. I miss the good old warm more dramatic looks. I have hooded eyes so these kinds of looks appear like I have no shadow on most of the time.

lol I just hate the feeling of a lot of makeup on my face even if its really light weight. Specifically, I would like to see her do a look with something to make the lashes look thicker, natural blush and highlight, light contour, some fresh looking eyeshadow (like pink or something with a really defined crease), natural eyebrows (not using anastasia because even the new one is too harsh for me), and nude lips. She's done looks like that before (summery ones or like for the pool) but I want one that uses darker colors but very softly if that makes sense.

Please do a look without lashes. I really think a lot of the looks you do are really made with the lashes. So I want one that doesn't rely on lashes at all and just uses mascara. Does anyone know a UA-camr that doesn't use fake lashes? I would appreciate recommendations!

Totally agree. It seemed to add texture to her skin even on camera. Overall, I think the makeup is super pretty but I would have stopped at the hourglass powders. Maybe even applied them with a damp beauty blender. IMO

Yeah, and plus she didn't use the lip liners when she tried them on. Which is kinda the point of the creamy lip liner, so the liquid lipstick won't be so dry. She said the best one was KoKo K and that was the only one she used liner with. So I'm sure all the liquid lip colors are good as long as you use the lip liner.

Although I do spend WAAAAAAYYY too much money on makeup, there are just somethings that I can not afford or want to buy because they are so expensive. I know that there are other you tubers ( Kathleen Lights, Tati,etc) that offer those recommendations, but I trust your opinion the most. What do you use to exfoliate your lips? I'm dying to find something. My lips are horrible right now....
I used sugar and olive oil but the Jeffree star lip exfoliant is really good!!
Something else you can do if you dont have a lip exfoliant is just when you're brushing your teeth use your toothbrush to buff your lips as well :) It's not a super glamorous technique I suppose but it works and saves some money xo

Elf has a great one that's in a lipstick tube so you don't have to put your fingers in anything

Okay, so with the issue with the hateful comments on your video... I guess I've never really read comments on anyone's videos, but I've been reading them the past couple of days on everyone's. And I just watched a Taylor swift Grammy video and read the comments. They were literally making me sick to my stomach, and they weren't even about me. What in the world is wrong with people, that they feel it so necessary to talk so bad about someone they don't know and probably never ever will know. It's beyond me how someone can take time out of there day to ruin someone else's. It's truly such a shame that people don't have more to do than trash talk someone else. Yeah she does, it's her office/beauty space. It's easier to separate her home life and work life that way so it's not as stressful! She talked about it on Snapchat awhile back.

Much like an office :) I work from home but I have an office where I do my work, because I don't need to mix up my home life and work life. That's actually a super common "tip" for people who work from home. Especially if your job is something that involves a lot of products and space, but she couldn't do it at her house anymore because her husband needed room for his work "products" (drum kits) too, so they compromised and found her an office! See how easy the world is when you're understanding and not judgmental?
