I like the first Deadpool movie, but my biggest fear came true. Hollywood didn't see Deadpool as a sign that R rated comic movies sell, they took it as an excuse to turn the movies into insults of the comics. Think about EVERY Disney movie greenlit after 2016, EVERY single one has been filled with insults, and condescension toward the comics.

Most parents aren't smart enough, though. Some just assume Superhero equals kid-freindly, and others are just selfish. I saw the 2009 "Friday the 13th" movie in the theater and this one mother had brought at least two kids, one might've been between 8-10 and the other was just a baby, which was worse, maybe 6 months old.
I think $900 million worldwide for Deadpool & Wolverine is a legitimate possibility. It's going to depend on whether or not the DEI Curse has infected it. I like the idea of a singular, vapid film that I can enjoy like crazy.
Multiple versions? No, I dont think that would work. Otherwise, we'd have seen it happen a lot. Pick one and make the best version of that you possibly can. Besides...the current crop of writers in Hollywood can't even write one good episode of Marvel material, much less two separate movies' worth.

This disclaimer that Ryan Raynolds made on X. Reminds me so much of the desclaimers Deadpool made at the end of his first movie. Actually there were 2 or 3 clips of him at the end as teasers. First he said there would be no sequel then that there would be some other things and just normal Deadpool in his character. Basically trying to get serious conclusions just from that its ..... kinda like trying to find seriousness in jokes. They are just not meant to be taken seriously. That's what makes them fun!
No they shpuld not do a pg13 version. They need to keep true to that character. Disneys entire issue is changing character's to playcate to groups of people. That is part of the reason they are in the current position they are in.

Good this is NOT a movie meant for kids. Not everything needs to be kid friendly. There needs to be movies made for adults too. No amount of alternate rated versions is going to save Disney from the hole they have dug for themselves. If anything they should lean even harder into the hard R rating and make a movie that will be truly for adults.

Depends if they swallowed some woke pills to placate their Disney overlords 🤔 Deadpool 2 race swapped Domino and I checked out from supporting it at the box office, watching it later on an ebay 2nd hand copy, and I was right to do so, Zazie Beetz was as much Domino as Ncuti Gatwa is Doctor Who, they also race swapped the Rusty Collins character and I disliked Julien Dennisons acting skills or lack of too. However, if word of mouth gives this movie the all clear on any unnecessary diversity changes just to tick DEI boxes then I might give it a watch.

Multiple versions is a bad idea, even the more adult/hard core version would have to be thought about more and altered during production. And as a consumer it would just pi$$ me off that I would need to decide what was the original creators intent and know that it was neither.

I'm a 5th grade teacher and I can tell you that roughly half of my class said they have seen the other two Deadpool movies and plan on seeing this so I don't think the R rating will hurt it.
1) release R-rated version in theaters 2) R-rated and PG-13 versions get their own separate blu-rays Perhaps R-rated version does best in theaters with parents, while PG-13 version does best as blu-ray when parents buy for their kids

I know plenty ppl that plan to see it. Most since Endgame. Don't think it will be HUGE but I think it will do well. I am considering it and I haven't been to anything marvel since Endgame.
I don't expect this to reach the same level as Joker at the box office, nor will it have anywhere near the cultural impact, because at the end of the day it's just another Superhero movie. Joker spoke to so much more than the the type of cartoonish conflicts that are at the core of your typical Marvel Movie .
I doubt it would make any difference what so ever. 13+ kids rather see it as it is, not some neutered version of it. Taken teens give two F-s about it to start with, comics aren't popular among them so I don't see massive interest there. Sorry WDW Pro, I've got to disagree with you on this one. Even in the comics, Deadpool is the alter ego anti-hero to the X-Men. He was never meant to be one of the major characters. Lowering the rating on Deadpool would turn of the original character's fans and play into the legitimate criticism that Disney ruins IP it buys. With that said, despite being a fan of the original Deadpool movie, I have no intentions of seeing this new movie just because Disney has trashed the rest of the MCU and LucasFilm.
The disclaimer from beginning to end is a joke. There have already been reports of multiple end credit scenes that are supposed to be huge. I think you’re taking this all a little too serious.

Pro, I almost never disagree with you on your viewpoints, but I do in this case. I don't like the idea of a watered-down version of Deadpool, even to try and bring in a younger audience. The Integrity of Established Lore must be kept intact. That, to me, is sacred...just in a lesser sense than other things I hold sacred.
Again, Deadpool and Wolverine's success will be reliant a couple of factors. First, the quality of the movie. Are we getting a fun R rated movie that has a well defined story with a soul and good action like the first Deadpool movie? Or, are we getting more of the uneven mess was that Deadpool 2 with a big side helping of Disney/Marvel heavy handed messaging? Second, if this movie is good can it over come the brand damage that has been caused by the bad decisions made by Disney/Marvel over the last 10 years? Are fans and general audiences willing to put down their hard earned money to support a movie that is distributed by a company that openly hates them? All to be determined in July. Also, Fox tried doing two versions of Deadpool 2 (R and PG-13). It didn't go well. Fans and general audiences rejected the PG-13 version and it flopped. Disney really needs to think twice about putting out dueling versions of Deadpool 3 given the precarious position the MCU is in right now. But, Disney/Marvel will Disney/Marvel.
I have an AMC A-List membership and I locked in spot for opening day, knowing that I can cancel it if word gets out that Disney screwed it up and I didn't spend a dime on the ticket but I have faith in Ryan Reynolds to get the job done and after reading his comments in this video, I'm confident that it'll be a winner.

As much as people want to deprive Disney of support, I think it's still a decent idea to throw money at something that they *do* do right. So hopefully Deadpool is good. And it'll be amusing to see how they spin it.

This disclaimer that Ryan Raynolds made on X. Reminds me so much of the desclaimers Deadpool made at the end of his first movie. Actually there were 2 or 3 clips of him at the end as teasers. First he said there would be no sequel then that there would be some other things and just normal Deadpool in his character.
Basically trying to get serious conclusions just from that its ..... kinda like trying to find seriousness in jokes. They are just not meant to be taken seriously. That's what makes them fun!

No they shpuld not do a pg13 version. They need to keep true to that character. Disneys entire issue is changing character's to playcate to groups of people. That is part of the reason they are in the current position they are in.

Those are all reasons WHY I have already bought 7 tickets to see this movie. The further away it is from what they have done to the MCU, the more I want to see it.
Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool would have probably LOVED to make both an R and PG13 version of Deadpool and Wolverine! Hell, he would have probably even acknowledged the fact that there are both versions of the film and had actual FUN with it!
Good this is NOT a movie meant for kids. Not everything needs to be kid friendly. There needs to be movies made for adults too. No amount of alternate rated versions is going to save Disney from the hole they have dug for themselves. If anything they should lean even harder into the hard R rating and make a movie that will be truly for adults.

Deadpool 2 race swapped Domino and I checked out from supporting it at the box office, watching it later on an ebay 2nd hand copy, and I was right to do so, Zazie Beetz was as much Domino as Ncuti Gatwa is Doctor Who, they also race swapped the Rusty Collins character and I disliked Julien Dennisons acting skills or lack of too.
However, if word of mouth gives this movie the all clear on any unnecessary diversity changes just to tick DEI boxes then I might give it a watch.

Multiple versions is a bad idea, even the more adult/hard core version would have to be thought about more and altered during production. And as a consumer it would just pi$$ me off that I would need to decide what was the original creators intent and know that it was neither.
I don't think Ryan Reynolds should do any more Deadpool movies as long as Disney owns it. If this movie does well, Disney will want more. But they never understand what makes these things succeed. And you KNOW they will try to take creative control.
I'm a 5th grade teacher and I can tell you that roughly half of my class said they have seen the other two Deadpool movies and plan on seeing this so I don't think the R rating will hurt it.
1) release R-rated version in theaters
2) R-rated and PG-13 versions get their own separate blu-rays
Perhaps R-rated version does best in theaters with parents, while PG-13 version does best as blu-ray when parents buy for their kids

I know plenty ppl that plan to see it. Most since Endgame. Don't think it will be HUGE but I think it will do well. I am considering it and I haven't been to anything marvel since Endgame.
I don't expect this to reach the same level as Joker at the box office, nor will it have anywhere near the cultural impact, because at the end of the day it's just another Superhero movie. Joker spoke to so much more than the the type of cartoonish conflicts that are at the core of your typical Marvel Movie .
Deadpool & Wolverine will probably be the first MCU thing I Enjoy since Elizabeth Olson's Performance in Multiverse of Madness.

I doubt it would make any difference what so ever. 13+ kids rather see it as it is, not some neutered version of it. Taken teens give two F-s about it to start with, comics aren't popular among them so I don't see massive interest there. It never was that crazy offensive even under Fox and it would loose whole thing what makes it fun and raunchy.
Sorry WDW Pro, I've got to disagree with you on this one. Even in the comics, Deadpool is the alter ego anti-hero to the X-Men. He was never meant to be one of the major characters. Lowering the rating on Deadpool would turn of the original character's fans and play into the legitimate criticism that Disney ruins IP it buys.
With that said, despite being a fan of the original Deadpool movie, I have no intentions of seeing this new movie just because Disney has trashed the rest of the MCU and LucasFilm.

The disclaimer from beginning to end is a joke. There have already been reports of multiple end credit scenes that are supposed to be huge. I think you’re taking this all a little too serious.

The ratings organization does not allow the same movie to be released with 2 different ratings at the same time, so no point in you to keep suggesting it.

Deadpool 3 is going to lose money. Both Deadpool movies made 780m and Logan made 690m. Even if Deadpool 3 makes 850m it will still lose money because they've spent 500m on production and marketing.

I don't like the idea of a watered-down version of Deadpool, even to try and bring in a younger audience.

I remember Joker was a movie with a R rated and made one billion and the movie only cost around 50-60 millions(could be less).
Again, Deadpool and Wolverine's success will be reliant a couple of factors. First, the quality of the movie. Are we getting a fun R rated movie that has a well defined story with a soul and good action like the first Deadpool movie? Or, are we getting more of the uneven mess was that Deadpool 2 with a big side helping of Disney/Marvel heavy handed messaging? Second, if this movie is good can it over come the brand damage that has been caused by the bad decisions made by Disney/Marvel over the last 10 years? Are fans and general audiences willing to put down their hard earned money to support a movie that is distributed by a company that openly hates them? All to be determined in July.
Also, Fox tried doing two versions of Deadpool 2 (R and PG-13). It didn't go well. Fans and general audiences rejected the PG-13 version and it flopped. Disney really needs to think twice about putting out dueling versions of Deadpool 3 given the precarious position the MCU is in right now. But, Disney/Marvel will Disney/Marvel.
I have an AMC A-List membership and I locked in spot for opening day, knowing that I can cancel it if word gets out that Disney screwed it up and I didn't spend a dime on the ticket but I have faith in Ryan Reynolds to get the job done and after reading his comments in this video, I'm confident that it'll be a winner.

It doesn't matter. I made a decision a while back that I will not anything by Disney. And it's not it's going to make hole in my life, didn't watch the most recent X-Men reboot. I missed all of the MCU and Spiderman since 2020. There just really isn't much worth watching, I do other things with my time that are more enjoyable than watching things I loved get turned to formulaic crap and shoved down my throat by people that hate me because I'm straight, white and not interested in their defective world view..

That's my problem too... The original Deadpool movie is among my favorites, but Disney's well earned bad reputation has turned me away.
Some movies you can put out a censored version and it doesnt change much but a pg-13 dead pool would probably be COMPLETE trash. I watched Desperato on USA network one time. The censored every head shot, swear word and more. It was like 12 min of movie in a 2h time slot.

Wolverine is the most kid interesting he has ever been in that colorful costume and the banter between both of them looks fun. Well, in 2024 we live in the snowflake age where comedy has so many limitations due to fear of offending everyone. Can't make fat jokes, blonde jokes, sexual jokes, any joke that references ethnicities or disabled people. You can't make any negative commentary or humor relating to the LGBT community.
