Happy birthday, Rebecca. My mom sends me birthday cards too. I'm also confused about when she says she's proud of me because I feel she doesn't even really know me. But it's real nice anyways.
I have to agree with them, at least in part. The amount of research you put into the subjects you cover, and the detail you reveal about them, does demonstrate a significant amount of patience. I’m doing a Masters and I wish I could read as patiently as you. I’d probably pass more units if I did.
Happy birthday!! 🎉 Also it's kinda hilarious to think someone could accidentally send a physical card. This is the Boomer's "oops, forgot the attachment!"
My mother died a few years ago at the age of 90. Old people do that I am so lucky that I had a mother for so many years. Still, every year now at my birthday there is no card. I miss that sticky sweet parental love letter written to her “Baby Boy”. I am so happy your mother sends you cards even if it was the wrong card. That just makes it all the more fun and memorable.
Sweet Christmas! I had no idea it was your birthday last week. Happy belated birthday Rebecca! Those were some of the most kind, loving, supportive, reassuring words that parents can say to their child. You are worth all the praise that comes your way. You live you life honorably, and with kindness and compassion. Hell yeah your Mom & Dad are proud of you. I'm proud of you too.
Belated happy birthday! Last week, I was listening to one of your videos without headphones (which I almost never do), and my husband (Rick Moen) said, "It's great to hear Rebecca Watson's voice again." I gather he knew you from skeptic conferences from back before I met him. But instant recognition of your voice despite all the intervening years.
"I didn't mean to send you the first one." "Then why... did... ... Nevermind!" That was pretty funny. My youngest turns 21 in two months - going card shopping NOW.
Dude, I can definitely hear qualities from the first card that i would attribute to you... I know I'm weird. But I agree the second card fits better. Happy belated birthday!🎉🎊
Belated happy birthday! I've several siblings, and have on a couple of occasions gotten cards meant for one of my siblings rather than me. Even though our birthdays are far apart.
So, was Mom like, "Oh no! Becky didn't like the card! Better send her another one." ? And then played it off like she didn't mean the first one, but the first one is really how they think and feel about you? Lol Whatever happened, the most important takeaway is that you are loved. And that's what's most important. Happy birthday.
If the mum denied sending it, sure, but what about the interaction as presented reads to you as a malicious intention to make a person second-guess their sense of reality?
Happy Belated Birthday! Take all the wins you can. Except for my two adult children, everyone else is gone. And neither of them can remember when my birthday is. ;-) LOL
Happy Birthday, Rebecca!
Happy birthday!!🎂 And. I rrrreeeally appreciate you sharing that with us.
The first card made the second card more perfect.
They almost let it slip that you're a twin. Oh shit, sorry.
Literally started cracking up when you said, "the second one." XD
Your parents are great. Happy belated birthday.
Happy birthday! my birthday was also last week. My mom is also weird.

Not gonna lie, they had us in the first half.

That first card is _SO_ Becky!
Rebecca? Only Rebecca can say.

😆 I've made a point to buy cards with blank insides. If I can't think of anything to say, then I'll just doodle.
LOL
Thank you for sharing. Happy belated birthday, wishings lots of happiness!

That sounds like some next-level gaslighting! (Not really, but if something similar happens next year, I'd worry)
If the mum denied sending it, sure, but what about the interaction as presented reads to you as a malicious intention to make a person second-guess their sense of reality?
Happy birthday! Hilarious situation! Please accept the gift that others see your awesomeness, even in ways you might not.
Happy Belated Birthday!

OMG; I hope you had a wholly satisfying birthday!
So great to hear that story thanks you
This is a mystery. They sent the first one. They bought it, signed it, and sent it. Are you a twin? Or is there another Becky?
my mom says “gimme a break, I’m old!”
I could have sworn your parents were laughing their asses off on the other end of the phone, but nope, they were just being sweet.
Rebecca, you are loved:)
You are a perfect espresso mocha cheesecake, with a crust of pure snark. 💥🎊💥
That was really funny, and you handled it well!
Happy birthday. And learn to take a compliment FFS... 😉😜
you _sure_ she didn't go out and send the second one after talking to you? 🤨 usps can be pretty quick if you work it right.
anyway, happy birthday! 😊
Hella Feliz Cumpleanos from mexico city!! You ARE pretty cool!!
Hahaha that's amazing, absolute gold
Hmmm . . . Is it possible, just possible, that your mom was pranking you with that first card?
haha
🤨🧐🤔😆
OMG 😂 I am laughing!! Too funny! And Happy Birthday Becky…😈
