  • Wing Chun master and martial-arts instructor Master Wong rates eight Wing Chun fights in movies, such as "Ip Man" and "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings," for realism.
Wong breaks down the accuracy of Wing Chun techniques and weapons in "Sherlock Holmes" (2009), "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" (2021), and "Ip Man" (2008) and "Ip Man 3" (2015), featuring Donnie Yen. He explains defense and attack combinations in "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F'" (2015) and "Bangkok Dangerous" (2008), featuring Nicolas Cage. He also looks at the history of Wing Chun in "Wing Chun" (1994), featuring Michelle Yeoh, as well its influence on Bruce Lee in "The Way of the Dragon" (1972).
Wong has been a Wing Chun practitioner for the past 35 years. He teaches Wing Chun, tai chi, and Jeet Kune Do as well as other self-defense techniques through his UA-cam channel and online courses.

Is it just me or does this man sound like he's punching the words out his mouth straight into your mind? A lot of energy

This guy could narrate a 6 hour long documentary about the history of knitting and it would be action packed and exciting. This guy needs to do more content!

I really like how he mentioned that if you're in a real life situation and someone pulls a knife, your proper response is to execute a karate run. No matter your skill level, don't use your hands against a knife, unless you're in a karate romcom and your love interest is a trauma nurse.

Master Wong is definitely a cut above the other experts you see reacting to clips on the internet because whenever he offers a criticism, he immediately follows up with how a person could carry out the action correctly. He's not just criticizing, he's also teaching.

I loved how even tho Ip Man is like a "legend" he was still like: "there's no way you can take on 10 karate fighter alone"

This master has more energy than the movie scenes he reviewed... 😂😂

Might be one of my fave experts so far. Doesn't try to talk up his own martial art, instead actually analyzes the sequences for accuracy with Wing Chun and even talks about the strengths and weaknesses of each martial art. Very informative and he seems to love talking about martial arts. Also hilarious he mentions that people just take turns fighting one on one in movies while they all get beat up individually lol, always been a pet peeve of mine

The editors do such an amazing job of showing exactly what he's describing (and mostly with footage of the actual host too). 👏

I used to watch this dude and blindly follow his free lessons on UA-cam and after seeing how knowledgeable he is… I now see that he isn’t just a super hyped up guy he’s a real master. RESPECT
