i honestly have to say that as much as these high fidelity maps are cool i really miss simpler maps from insurgency2 they felt so much tighter and (mostly) more focused compared to the huge sprawling sandstorm maps (rip the sinjar spawn rpg)
I just like this game because its fast shoot to kill time, too many games are a full clip into an enemy and they still arent dead, works really well for PVE
Funnily enough people don’t die to guns that fast in real life. Especially if they’re on drugs or wearing body armor. And its not full clip btw its called a magazine. I can tell you dont know much about guns. Clips is for old guns like the m1 garand.
FYI this runs on solid 60fps on steamdeck and the multiplayer PvE experience is extremely enjoyable - especially with your own control configuration so you can lean without ads and easily switch scopes etc. PvP is playable but a dock and mouse is necessary to even come close to MnK players. Insurgency in bed on a steamdeck is just too much fun not to recommend
I really wish this game had a simple feature that would make this game so much better. Easy LAN and private server creation. Local play should have the ability to invite friends or be a locally hosted LAN game.
This is amazing! I got this game for $1 on some sale, but never got to play it. After I get a PC as well I will, like 10 years after I bought the game.

In the past the problem with mods on consoles has been certification/authoring, as they are closed systems, MS/Sony normally put fences around this stuff because (A) they can't monetise it, (B) could open the system to security problems
Didn't know mods existed, didn't look it up. I thought it was vanilla unlike the previous title. I played after 2020, so it wasn't that it hadn't come out yet. It's why I initially switched between the two titles, because I knew Insurgency 2014 had mods. Clearly made easier thanks to it being a Source game, as you didn't have to go somewhere else to download mods, they downloaded if you went in to the match. I'll continue watching to hopefully find out how mods work if they're not seamless like in the 2014 title. 6:29 - Oh, there was a community server browser within the game? So I really didn't bother looking if it was within the game..Unless it came out in 2023, then I wouldn't have seen it. But Steam gives me updates from Sandstorm and every time I think it's been time-limited modes for at least 2023. So it works like Insurgency 2014, it took me a few months to check out anything that wasn't options and matchmaking and it was the cosmetics screen. Maybe given a few more months I would've explored some more and found the community section. Interesting because it's Unreal Engine 4 I believe, but works similar to a Source game like Insurgency 2014.
I just hate that they opted for their own mod system over Steam Workshop. It was originally supposed to allow mod support on console, but the devs are so bad at console development, they canceled that. Leaving mod devs and mod enjoyers stuck with a more convoluted system. The console version of the game meanwhile suffers from so many bugs after over 2 years with very few bug fixes and many bug fixes not actually doing anything. Memory leak issues are a major issue causing all kinds of other issues. Running through backwards compatibility on a next gen system allows you to get a higher frame rate or higher resolution with higher FOV. Since they severely limit your resolution for higher FOV. They promised an Xbox Series and PS5 upgrade very soon after the initial console release, but they haven't updated on that for 2 years. Similar to the console release announcement for the game initially and never speaking of it again until they held a private beta. Definitely play the game on PC because the mod devs are better and know what the community wants. Don't play on console unless you're desperate because the devs don't know how to fix anything and lie about fixing everything.
It's hard to say. I mean look at DMZ for example. It's thriving and tarkovs gamer populous is falling out. But tarkov was here first right? They basically stole every idea another game company had once again, and first come first served doesn't matter here anymore.
