This works fine but I suggest a tilted position instead of the overhead view. Because it allows more light to pass through the camera resulting in bright videos. Overhead position do not allow much light exposure.

So if you want a tilted position of your phone you should place something under you phone on the front side and adjust angle accordingly and support your phone by putting another book behind it!!

I used to make my videos without using any tripod stand,(now I've one) and I used to just adjust my camera at certain angle, through some technique!! Oh I think I must also make a video related to it on my UA-cam channel also!!
