This arrangement reminded me of a recording done by Christopher Ashby in the 80's who played 4 different parts of the piece separately and assembled them together with the help of a metronome. There was a special effect for the chords at the beginning as well. I think this one might have been inspired by that. Unfortunately I lost my tape of that recording, only memory of it left ...
