Hello Jeff how are you ? I tried to keep your knee bent after contact and it is work very well and also with open stance , and also with one hand backhand, thank you very much and keep on to teach tennis like this
Great video, can you add anything for a down the line forehand, I miss wide left, am a lefty from time to time, maybe hitting ball too late, I finf myself going cross court too much with forehand as I am not confident down the line
Hey Jack! Thank you for watching. I would recommend you check out the following three videos to improve your down the line forehand 1) ua-cam.com/video/V4LN9OtHD5k/v-deo.html 2) ua-cam.com/video/aCZsbfsHiJw/v-deo.html 3) ua-cam.com/video/HPdkp5qlsIU/v-deo.html
Jeff great video and I saw almost the whole match you played against Michael Chang, I agree with McEnroe you actually played great the whole match, Michael Chang was a tough little player. Must of been the injuries that delayed you getting to your potential. We appreciate what you do for us amateurs.
Great tip, and I definitely need to work on this! I’ve been playing some practice matches lately against a slicer that keeps everything low, particularly on our cold indoor winter courts in New England. When I’m dealing with balls at my waist or in an open stance I’m usually fine, but on those really low forehands I square up and lift too soon for sure. It’s a tough habit to break.

really helpful. Just to clarify - you emphasize straightening the leg AFTER contact. Is this to counteract our tendency to straighten too soon, so that the aim is that, by trying to straighten late, we do actually manage to straighten on (or a tiny bit after) contact or is the ultimate aim for us to straighten near the end?
Hi Jeff! Do you do video analysis of our serves, forehands and backhands? I was asking you this because I would like to send you one and so you could correct me. Great video!
@@TennisEvolution Oh perfect! Could you tell me an email or something so I can send you a video of my serve please? You can contact me at ericnogues2006@gmail.com and you would do me a great favor if you would respond to this comment. Thank you very much Jeff for your attention!
You also teach a platform stance but when you played Michael Chan you brought your feet together to serve. Lol I’m sure you explained this at some point. Im a lefty platform guy all the way. Baseball pitchers don’t pitch with their feet together. I’m a pitcher, maybe that’s why I biased toward a platform serving stance.
This is so helpful
Thanks. Glad to help!
Thanks! Very helpful!

Definitely it's not an easy habit to break, yet not impossible with the right mindset and tips to practice!
Wow! Great one Jedi.. I mean Jeff. 😀💪

Hi Jeff,
What's your racquet's tension and what string you use?
Changing to his tension and string won’t make you better.

Is this to counteract our tendency to straighten too soon, so that the aim is that, by trying to straighten late, we do actually manage to straighten on (or a tiny bit after) contact or is the ultimate aim for us to straighten near the end?
That is correct Paul. You should focus on straightening your leg after contact.
It's too bad that I can only like this video once - always informative and a good reminder from tome to time!

Yep, that's probably why I can't get any depth since switching to semi-western. Thanks, Jeff!

Jeff switched to platform stance at late stage of his career.
