Omgosh!! Thank you for becoming a member! I really appreciate you and I hope you enjoy all the emotes for you to use! I can't wait for when they bring shiny cards so we can use this more 😆
I shame Whaled. I just want cute Pokemon. Got my Mew and now play silly decks in NoEx private searches. I finally won the Ash Starter Pokemon Challenge. All 3 energy types. All 3 Starter lines. 1 Pokeball and 1 Prof research. So many losses but that final win felt so good 😭 ❤
Hey!! No shame in that 😆if it brings you joy it brings you joy right!? Congratulations on your Mew too! ♥ I've heard about how people are doing the NoEX private battles! I like how the community came together to do that to that they can enjoy battling without running into the same meta deck. I bet that win felt amazing too 😆so worth!
Honestly, the game as it is right now feels good. Imagine you get free packs everyday, you dont even have to grind. Also, tcg are meant to be played whenever you want. Stress inducing modes should be avoided.
Imagine having some story and characters you can interact with and being able to battle every generation of gym leader, the elite four, the rivals, team bad guys, and other notable in game NPCs maybe even battle other Pokémon like the Shiny Gyarados from Gen 2, to get the full-art shiny Gyarados card. There are like 10 generations worth of characters and storyline from the mainline games and anime that can be incorporated into TCG Pocket.
I totally agree with you and love this idea!! Especially the battling other pokemon idea 🤩 When you said "other notable in game NPCs" I immediately thought of Youngster Joey (the shorts kid) 😆
This game is for TCG players who want a fresh start with pokemon trading card game. This game starts with a boosterset that has no powercreep and is balanced well. Every pokemon card that is released has at least one pokemon card that is able to beat it. The strongest normal pokemon has 150 HP and the strongest EX pokemon has 200 HP. Other pokemon trading card games have a powergab that is very big. In pokemon live and pokemon online the strongest normal pokemon has 180 HP and the strongest EX pokemon has 340 HP. Playtime is another factor. The shorter pokemon card battles allow me to play this game at work in the breaktime. A game is 3 - 8 minutes long. Thankfully i am imune to ingame transactions.
I didn’t know those differences between the TCG and this game with it came to the battles so thank you for pointing that out to me! You’re stronger than me cause premium was too tempting to say no to 😂
I am ine who enjoys playing in tournaments and get most of my enjoyment from that. It makes it worth it to spend a little bit per month for what I get out of it. I can respect the casual players as well. As for the f2p players complaining about slow progress, spend money or the game might not be for you if impatient .
Pokemon go 2016 did not have as much features as Pokemon go 2024 I feel like Pokemon tcg pocket will grow over time, they will add new features and packs in time
I love the Pokémon Pocket TCG because i feel like I don’t need to grind and spend too much time on it. The incentive for me is a nice and relaxing game where I can collect cute Pokémon cards. I’m having so much fun!!!
That's how I feel as well 😆It's less dedication for me than Pokemon Sleep is LOL! I love showing my bf the cards that I pull too and I can't wait for trading to come out so we can help each other complete the Kanto collection ♥
I agree with this heavily! Whenever I see people posting about how they want ranked to be a thing I just feel like they're missing a lot of what made people flock to the game. I agree they should add a few more things to do with your time and hundreds of extra cards, but I don't think making a ranked/competitive system is the way to go.
I fell in love in collecting the cards, spent enough to get great cards but disappointed in the low pull rates. Did all the events but honestly kind of bored atm and opening packs and wonder picks hasn’t been kind to me…but it led me to start collecting the physical cards and hype trying to get Pikachu SIR from Surging Sparks and now I’m trying to start my actual physical Pokemon collection that fulfills my needs. I enjoy hearing your thoughts and videos!
Thank you so much for your comment Jay! Luckily the Venusaur event is coming this Friday! (Supposedly) so you will hopefully have some more fun ❤ but your feelings are totally valid. So happy to hear that you got into the physical card collecting! I actually got into that sometime last year and looking at my collection brings me so much joy 😂 wishing you luck to get Pikachu SIR from Surging Sparks! ⚡️🍀
I was completely out of Pokémon space since the 2nd Generation. And this has sparked my interest in this IP once again. A friend told me about it. And we share a passion for card games, mainly for battling. But with Pokemon tcg Pocket there is just a huge nostalgia factor. Like seeing friends from the childhood. That is why despite the very "Special" Design choices and some balancing irritations this is still super fun. A big reason is also that this game is very consumer friendly. It gives you a lot of cards for free early on and via the pve missions and events. I am almost at 220 cards ( the achievement for special tickets) without spending more than 15 Euros - I always spend a little bit out of principle when I enjoy a game a lot. The only thing really missing badly is the trade option. Because that would make it infinitely more fun to collect if you can help each other out. Especially among friends. There is also surprising amount of fun decks to play. Even in tournaments where two decks dominate currently there is diversity in top 32. Recently there was a Tournament of over 1000 players that was won by Arcanine ex+Charizard ex, fueled by their best friend Moltres ex. With new cards and mechanics this will only get more interesting. The community is also creative and makes spaces for a mode without ex Pokémon. So if you dont want to play against Pikachu ex, Mewtu ex, Starmie ex etc for the 100th time, you can go to private matches and enter "NOEX" as password. It does not reward exp points. But it gives you the fun of playing with and against more variety of decks in a more level playing field.
Thank you for sharing you experience Lion!! I really appreciate you ♥ I can totally see how this gives so much nostalgia players who grew up with the older games and don't have as much time now to game. Kind of like me and my friends LOL. I'm like you where I am also happy with the amount of free pulls we got early on in order to form decks and play the pve missions. I don't spend extra money to pull packs other than the premium pass, and even then I still feel very content with the cards I'm getting and pulling. I agree with you about trading because there are so many common cards I'm missing, and trading would be so great as a tool to collect all those missing cards! such a great way to make new friends as well. And I think that is the essence of pokemon that I love the most. The fact that there instances where the community helps each other out I love that your comment focused on the positive things. I feel like sometimes we feel entitled and forget to appreciate the small things that matter. I love seeing the community come together like this 🤗
I think the only thing missing for me in this game is the feature to flex our pulls on Social Media, besides the method of Screen Recording/capturing 😅
Yeah we need more of a in game community aspect to the game besides just seeing a couple random persons folders. I don’t know how they can, I think they should implement it with trading as it will allow for them to have a space for us to make friends and safe trades. Regardless there’s going to be discords and channels as well to do so, but I like what you mean in features to flex and trade what we already have.
I really like your suggestion of having a feature to flex our pulls on social media besides screen recording/capturing!! 🤩I would love to see that get added one day ♥
@@Jeremy-bt8lo I totally agree with you about the community aspect. I would love to see that as well! and I appreciate that you mentioned you don't know how they can, but still provided a solution of what they could do ♥
This is only season one, only a handful of cards, metas, and counter metas exist, and I keep seeing new ones pop up. I'd say figuring those out is enough incentive to battle for me. And no I don't need any more xp or bonuses for battles, you know, I would have killed to have been given 2 free packs of pokemon cards each day as a child. I'd say this app was put together pretty well, the only minor complaint I have is that a dedicated NO-EX mode should exist, or at least be a setting in private. Also you can just be a collector you don't even have to play the card game.
Even though I'm not good at the battling aspect, I do find myself enjoying videos of people talking about meta decks and off meta decks! It's so interesting to peek into that world and learn so much and it also inspires me to try our versus more. I love that there is a community of people who are trying out different meta decks and sharing that with each other. I am also like you where I would have been so happy to open 2 free packs a day 😆 I do love that I am not pressured to play the game and I am able to enjoy it as a collector just like you said! NoEX mode is also something I've seen people express a lot and I hope to see that get implemented as well. I will say though, it has been interesting seeing how creative the community is about going around with creating their own workaround of playing NoEX with each other. It kind of reminds me of how the community in the mainline games play nuzlock challenges which adds for so much replayability.
Really appreciate you trying to make sure people dont go crazy on each other here! I think there’s a lot of contributing factors as to why some people arent happy, but i imagine a lot of people who have problems are like OP or me, we’re hearthstone refugees. Back when HS launched a whole decade ago it had a very similar burst of popularity. Over time Blizzard (the devs) had ended up scaring away both the casual and hardcore audience with some very questionable decisions. So I imagine a lot of us come from that game and want tcgp to give us what HS once did. Obviously it wont. Tcgp is clearly a gacha pull sim first, and a game second. It’s going to be interesting to see how people’s wants for this game change over time, the casual audience will move on sooner rather than later
I love that you appreciate that thank you so much!! Thank you for sharing your perspective from an HS player! I had no idea and it does bring so much more understanding to why people are unhappy, and their feelings are totally valid. I also am very interested to see how the game will change over time with the feedback it has been receiving from all sorts of players. It's still such a new game so there is so much room for growth ♥
@ for sure! Considering how trading isnt even in the game yet, its going to be interesting seeing how tcgp evolves over the next few years. I believe in a previous video you mentioned wanting a campaign style mode and thats something i can definitely see them adding! Hs used to have full on paid campaigns every set and they’d reward you with exclusive cards, it was a really interesting way of content delivery. One of the more popular additions in hs was a mode where you start off with a basic small deck and defeat bosses to slowly draft it into a full on deck with more synergies and passive effects than the base game’s decks. It had a lot of replayability, so its something im hoping for! The devs have a lot of previous card games to learn from so im hoping they do and dont end up milking this until it dries up
@@Jude-yk9uc Yes! it's as Glare108 says, "it's only season 1"! and its exciting enough to experience this and be a part of this games history as it evoles 😆 A campaign style would be so fun for me because I do enjoy battling but versus intimidate me and the solo battles feel a little empy for me 😆still fun though! but could be better ♥ I didn't know a mode like that excited in HS! To be fair I only played it for a day or two so my memory on it is very vague. My only knowledge of it is what I saw on twitch and that would be people playing ranked games. That mode does sound like fun and definitely so many possibilities to try out too! As a HS veteran yourself, are you also hoping for a ranked aspect?
@@Eutrope_ hmm i think its abundantly clear that there’s a big part of the community that *needs* it. With weekly third party tournaments that have 1000+ players going on, i imagine people who arent in the 0.1% of insane hardcore players would appreciate it too. And i think even parts of the more casual side would come to appreciate a competitive environment for when they do want to put their collection to use! Ultimately i don’t see there being really anything bad about them adding a ladder. It just comes down to how they handle rewards. Casuals feeling pressured into putting resources and time and effort into climbing to certain ranks or whatever for time limited loop will just create burn out and a big divide in the community. I think if they just stick to having cosmetic only rewards it wouldn’t be that big of a deal for casuals. It could also help alleviate any anxieties casuals feel about pvp. Non ranked just having people playing for fun with silly decks is a lot less stressful than the weird mix we have right now of that + meta decks I hope the suits will be willing to reinvest the crazy money the game is making into the devs. Even just having campaigns that follow the same stories as each of the games would be pretty cool. Masters EX was purely solo and had lots of story content, it just ended up devolving into just a pure gacha, hopefully not a sign of how tcgp will end up ^^,
Me and my brother hate pvp and tired to those sweaty try-hard players. One time, a friend told me to just cancel premium because i rarely play pvp… :( like, what!! With this channel and some friends here, im glad that im not alone 😊 totally agree with your highlight, Eutrope ❤
Thank you Xynaka! I got discouraged with PVP for pretty much the same reason of running into Mewtwo or Pika decks while farming wins for my ribbons 😂 I’m sorry to hear that your friend told you to cancel premium 😔 there’s so much to enjoy from premium even if you don’t PvP!
I spent some cash. Enough that I was able to get my Kanto collection complete and pick up the Mew card. Now what I am doing is using my Wonder Picks when I see any card that I don't have or if it is my foreign artwork Eevee. I picked up some of the few that I need. At this point, I am still lacking 078 Gyarados (233 Gyardos counted towards completion of the Mew mission). I actually have all of the one stars except for 243 Weezing.
I love that for you MP!! It must have felt nice to pick up that Mew too 😆I also like using wonder pick to get cards I don't have. Sometimes I'm lucky sometimes I'm not 😆🍀 Sending you luck to get that 078 Gyarados and all your foreign artwork Eevee!! I can't wait to see you work on that binder 🤩
I agree with the person who wants a reason to battle. It doesn't take anything away from the players who just want to collect to give people who wants to battle some more rewards for battling, and I have no doubt that they will add this in the future.
I also have no doubt that they will add something to make battlers more happy! and you're right that it doesn't take away from players who just want to collect cards
I'm sorry, but correct me if I'm wrong, this is a trading "Card game". Yes you collect, but the true intent of the design has always been to battle. I totally resonate with what the original poster said, this game is totally missing the mark and appealing to no one but whales. The only reason it might have big numbers on their end, is because players are just logging in to get their daily pack, then just hoping and praying, somehow this app gets better. I was originally coming into this game for the battling, but when i found out its completely imbalanced and there's no battle incentives, I switched to casual collection mode. But even as a casual collector, it is so unbelievably boring, most packs you open, end up being super lame with nothing. This game is sadly a classic case of a greedy money grab. A gacha game praying on you're nostalgia and desire to have them all
Hi! I appreciare your comment and thank you for sharing your thoughts ♥ I think this game is catered to both collectors and those who enjoy battle. I don't think this is an attempt to replace PTCG live though. The reason why I share my thoughts about this game being primarily a card collecting game is since lots of their marketing is around the appeal of opening 2 packs a day for free. I think if we manage our expectations of what this game is there is a better chance of being disappointed (or be less disappointed because it's okay to feel bumped that it's not what you expected). When you check out their official website and app store description, you also see this fact being highlighted as well, that you play the app to collect cards and you can casually battle with friend (they actually use the words "casually battle" in the Apple app store). Mentions of battling for the app is usually not at the forefront though. I think they are trying their best to cater to both audiences, but the focus does seem to shift more towards collectors for the time being 🤗
@@Eutrope_ I agree with you, I totally missed their original intentions with this game. I guess me, and many others are just frustrated in a way, cause we know this game could be so much more.
I hear you 😔 I feel bad for those who love the battle aspect of TCG and who feel let down by the game. I hope that they improve this in the future to cater to their competitive fan base! 😭
I feel like it would be a win win for both casual collectors and battlers is to add “Weekly”incentives with like 9 battling/wonder pick challenges in which you would receive rewards that all add up to 18 wonder glasses, 18 pack glasses , and 18 shop tickets. Clearly the shop tickets will be used to get more additional packs or wonder glasses, and these challenges could take like 1-4 hours out of your week which really isn’t that much of a time consuming task since it’s your choice when to do so. I see these weekly challenges as a Win Win scenario since I believe one night of the week, most people will have a couple hours of free time and can choose to get extra packs/wonder picks or just choose to skip it. This is a small enough incentive to help both sides of players as well as not be too much of a free thing as the Pokemon pocket company can’t give out too much free stuff since there a business. Hopefully they do implement something like this, it’ll also bring more casuals to try out the online battles as well as try different decks in the challenges so you won’t only run into meta decks while battling!
I totally agree with you and love your ideas! As a casual myself, I want to see weekly incentives as well 😆we get this in Pokemon Sleep so I do enjoy that aspect of completing weekly challenges and getting rewards. I also love how you expressed that it will bring more casuals to try out the online battles. I never played the tcg irl so coming to this game made me feel intimidated to try, but I had such nice viewers encouraging me to try it out and that its way more chill that the girl version and they are right! Although I find it intimidating, I do still find myself having fun and winning a battles feels pretty awesome too! I actually love to watch people stream versus because I feel like I learn so much and inspires me to hit versus more 😆
@@Eutrope_ Same I had Pokemon cards when I was younger and I never knew about the actual game till the release of this game and I didn’t try it till later on for the lapras event
I enjoy battling as much as opening packs and i'd be for having battle/ranked rewards but it shouldn't replace the current system and probably shouldn't be too tedious, like other games. As for bugs the afk bug that happens when a player decides that they aren't going to play anymore and decides to go afk and holds the other player hostage, leaves a bad taste.
I would love for there to be ranked too! which is funny for me to say because I do not play versus LOL BUT I love watching streams of people playing versus!! 😆 it helps me learn the game and inspires me to battle more. I was intimidated at first because I never played the irl tcg, but I had so many kind viewers telling me it's a much more chill version. So I find myself, a casual player, dipping her toes in versus! I have fun even though it brings me a bit fo anxiety because there was a learning curve to it 😆but practice makes perfect and making mistakes helps you learn and grow. That def sounds like an annoying bug 😭I can see why people are frustrated with that 😦
@Eutrope_ the pvp has people of every skill level and most players will send you a thanks for the battle regardless on the type of deck you play or what misplays happen, everyone starts somewhere. Pokemon pocket is actually my first pokemon card game I recently tried pokemon live and it was very stressful being that I had to read everything and I hated the fact that my opponent was waiting on me to make a move.
People who love Pokemon but don’t collect cards. I’ve had friends do that. Not everyone takes Pokémon serious to a competitive degree or game the actual card collecting seriously. Of course many do
Came for pokemon pocket content, stayed for the dance party! 💃🤪 I did spend some money on it and I had fun doing so. I think that's all that matters just as long as long you have fun and don't get addicted to spending to the point that it would ruin you financially 😅 I don't need to spend anymore because I know I can take it easy with the rest of the cards that I'm missing and save up more money for the next set. In all honestly, I think this game caters to just about anyone on all levels, young or old, spender or free to play, battler or collecter or a bit of everything!
Dance party~ 😂🎉 You’re totally right about just having fun and not getting addicted to spending! As long as you aren’t harming yourself and others by these financial transactions ❤
I do NOT want more daily/weekly missions if I’m being honest, it becomes too much of a chore. I’d rather do events to get new cards, preferably pretty ones (like the Venusaur one coming soon!!). That’s actually the perfect example of what I prefer, do an event, get a card with nice artwork lol. I think the people who are dissatisfied with the game are people who could care less about the artworks. Because I agree I wouldn’t even play PVP if there weren’t any incentives to. For example I had no interest in PVP until the event but because dust are the rewards I decided to do it. And I actually liked PVP battles more than I thought I would, but I still wouldn’t do PVP if there are no rewards. If the game continued like this though I would still play to collect all the pretty artworks I want and get flairs. That’s the difference between artwork enjoyers and competitive enjoyers. Ultimately the easiest way to make everyone happy is to add in a ranked system, that way the competitive people will get their fix and feel compelled to fight each other, while other players like me would play ranked to get rewards (preferably pretty cosmetics/hourglasses lol).
I’ve seen comments that express the same concern over not wanting daily missions! And makes a lot of sense since it would drive away their more casual players who don’t want the game to feel like a chore 😮 (can’t wait for the Venusaur too!). I agree with the rest of what you said. I barely find myself in PVP for the same reasons and only did it for the ribbons 😂
Personally, I like where the game is at. The battles encourage you to try experimenting with random cards in your deck and just playing for fun. I recently got Mew and it was really rewarding, logging in everyday and trying to chase those few cards I was missing. I really don't want the battles to become more like the TCG because I find the pace of that game WAYYY TOO FAST (as in, extremely powerful cards get out quickly) and I think this game has a much better flow to it.
Its definitely for casual players. Right off the bat, the card game is simplified compared to the irl TCG. And even if you try to tryhard it, theres no stats to keep track off, only overall wins. So battle is clearly not the main focus, as you said. People who barely know Pokemon like myself or my gf get enjoyment out of the dopamine inyection that the pack opening gives you (she got crown pikachu at her second pack... still salty about that lol) and the collection aspect. As you said, sharing cards and artwork is great, and we cant wait for trading to be avaliable. I think that people who get bored of the game are focusing too much on the dopamine aspect of the game, so when that is over, they find themselfs just needing more and get frustrated. Im with you about taking it easy
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! (and your gf is so lucky for pulling a crown pikachu on her SECONd pack 😭). My bf and I like to collect the irl tcg and we only buy packs to collect the card. When we saw the trailer for this on the direct, we were sohappy and our initial thoughts were "now we can experience what we've been doing, but on our phones!). My friends know nothing about pokemon but you can bet that I take my binder out to show them my fav cards LOL and they are happy for me because it's something I'm excited about. Now as someone who only got into tcg for the collection aspect only, I do appreciate the battle that they implemented in the game. I prefer the solar battle but I do enjoy watching streams of people doing versus. I see how much they enjoy it and I see how much they wish to see improvements as well. My hope is that they are able to satisfy all types of gamers, but I can also see how it isn't their priority when their business model might have been built with a certain gamer in mind. Sending you and the gf good luck on your future pulls! ʕっ•ᴥ•ʔっ~ 🍀✨
I really like the game. I would enjoy it more if I knew the exact plan and I wouldn't feel pressed for time to get all the cards (I am currently opening charizard packs, the only EXes I need are Starmie and Exeggutor - and I feel like I don't know how much time I have to get them - I am getting nice alternate arts in the meantime ... but I would like getting a timeline and plan how the new set will be available - will I need to choose between the new set, and this set ? or will they have separate gauges? ) I would love more singleplayer and more game modes (sealed formats is what I love most ) .
I can really relate with you on the feeling of not knowing how much time we have left with the Genetic Apex series ☹I've seen other people say that they find it very unlikely that GA would leave when new booster packs arrive, so I think we are safe and that it'll still be around for a good amount of time 🤞so far we know that mini sets are coming sometime this month (rumored to be dec 16), and then the new booster set will be in January (but GA still supposedly still be around). The pack points you have now will only be redeemable for the GA packs, and when GA rolls out the pack points will expire as well and they do not get carried over for you to use on the next booster sets. I agree with you on more singleplayer content and game modes!! I would love that so much
@@Eutrope_ My issue with the new set coming out so soon (a mini set in 2 weeks or so and a big set 2 weeks, maybe 3-4 weeks later) means we may not finish the current set and - as far as I know- we are not as of yet aware if there will be more packs to open per day, or if you will have to decide to insist on completing the old set (GA in this case) or invest the 2 packs / 3 packs per day in the new set for the assumedly OP cards. If we got separate gauges for each set - and we knew about this, it wouldn't be hectic at all, I would be opening all those cards eventually. Unrelated, I do find myself in a predicament: I am opening Charizard packs for quite a while now - still trying to get 2x Starme and 2x Exeggutor EXs - have none, and all the other Exs aside machamp, but I got 2 of him in the higher rarity - and for the past 3-4 days (so at least 10 packs with hourglasses and so on used) I keep getting only commons and uncommon cards. Any idea if I am just unlucky ... or if this is the standard ? 10-15 packs with no higher than uncommon rarity cards? I could swear before this dry spell I used to get at least one rare every 2-3 packs and an EX every couple of days.
Yuh~ I believe it's the future of card collecting for the casual mainstream, its really f2p as well and the battles are good fun too so overall it's a bop 10/10 plus its dang pretty the designs and effects on the cards ❤
I agree with you on that! My bf and I actually got into the physical tcg because we just like to collect the cards. Tbh at first when he started I didn't understand it, but seeing how it made him so happy made me want to join him in the fun and now I am hooked 😆we both enjoy tcg pocket because it provides us the same experience but on our phones! The effects feel like I'm putting on a pretty sleeve 🤩
Battles are pretty fun but it does get tiring playing against the same 2 decks 80% of the time. I hope they make NOEX an official format, and additional cards in the future opens up the meta to more variety
The casual collect aspect is poorly done based on other examples of other card games, which all have collecting aspects and competitive sides. It also is not good because it is insensitive to spend money when other games you play the game to gain cards you collect which is an unhealthy business practice. Also as someone who played the old pokemon tcg game trading created a negative in real world trading black market. That's why trading was removed. It creates a negative elitist mentality. To be real, no one is going to be happy in the end. When a game has a competitive sides the players are more angry than casuals and collectors because competitive is very hard to balance.
That is very interesting insight and thank you for taking the time to share that with us ♥ I haven't played the TCG Online version so I have no idea what happens there but I have heard some dissatisfaction. Do you think there would be some sort of black market here since they plan to add trading sometime in January? I've seen others say no.
@@Eutrope_ I say yes to the black market because why spend lets say 30$ of gold and not get anything good but go on a third party site and buy a specific card you need for deck or collection for 1$ as well as some people will be tempted to sell cards because since you can only use 2 of a pokemon of specific name it's an incentive to earn money is there because casuals can only open 2 packs if not premium every 24 hours. If there are limited run sets aka packs then there will be fomo (fear of missing out) and possibility of price gouging after the set ends if its limited promos that you can no longer get inherently giving the cards more value. Also anytime a game uses inworld currency to buy a virtual item that is tradeable that is highly desired there will always be a market even if it breaks the rules or not with in world trading. there are spread sheets already on what is the best deals to buy gold optimally and what packs are best value to spend on. Another example is the Jigglypuff. It has an exclusive move and is a promo so it's a limited run so it already has value from that an having sing as a very practical move in a deck. when the promo ends you cannot obtain that jigglypuff that knows sing. giving anyone who didn't get the promo jigglypuff a disadvantage in battles in a mirror match up but with the 2 energy attack move. even if promos are not tradable people will be at a disadvantage which makes a toxic atmosphere. I've played enough gachas, tcg, online games with black market economies to see things are heading to an ugly direction
Its pvp only imo. The amount of deck crafting and theory for pvp is its main purpose. Yes you can open packs and look at your collection but nah this is for online tournament goers
*HotTake* Pokemon knows people will dump their wallets on it. Numbers show about 3 mil a day. Having incentives are the drive of every game. This one shouldn't punish its audience unless they spend money IMO just not a good look. I understand the game brings new people to the card world and helps this boom thats happening, but They make enough money to hire artist to make new virtual cards no printer ever has to print for them to cash off of. Plus they should let people get more into the feel of opening and not have it burn money for it.
Can you explain how it punishes the audience unless they spend money? I only ask because I haven't felt punished, but I know that if you feel that way there are others who feel the same and I wan't to understand where that feeling comes from. And when you say, "they should let people get more into the feel of opening and not have it burn money for it" are you expressing a desire to be able to open more packs a day? what would be a good number to you if that's the case? I believe the cards available right now feature nostalgic old artwork from the past, as well as brand new ones like we see in the immersive and full art right? (I'm not sure since I'm not familiar with what all the old cards look like). I do understand how players who are more familiar with the tcg would love to see more new cards though/
@ 1. I think the nature of only letting people get 2 a day is like giving someone one or 2 scratchers a day. They will obviously get hit one day and wanna be able to open another, right now the only way to do that is pay money. The reward system such as described in the video like missions or something in that nature is the proper way to incentivize to keep the player coming back instead of paying. I would even rather buy a game for 20$or 40$ or whatever as long as there is content . This game feels very lack luster unless money is spent. Personally I haven’t spent anything and have enjoyed it, but I’m not telling my friends let’s play this game and battle! That to me shows the focus is more on making money. 2. I think idk why but like maybe 4-6 a day. With reward or missions. These packs are not physical, and that is where a lot of my problem is. 3. I think they are smart with current approach but a lot of artwork is also just specific to this game, and when the company makes so much off of us they should have something coming back more than here is 2 packs good luck!
@@Eutrope_ the truth is that no reasonable number would be good enough. Everyone, including whales, will get to a point in which their packs contain nothing but dupes for days on end. Five packs a day is probably more than enough to complete the base set (i.e., all diamond-rarity cards) in three months. Four packs per day is probably also enough, and that's exactly why the Premium Pass only gives one more pack per day; it doesn't remove the incentive to spend more money to ensure base set completion. But even giving players enough packs to complete the base set will not be enough for most collection-minded players; once they have all of the diamond-rarity cards, then they will care about getting all of the star-rarity and crown rare cards. So they keep opening packs, and the more that they open, the more dupes they will get. That's the insidious genius of the trading card game business model. The only people who will be entirely satisfied with only completing the base set are the small minority of the player base who care only about PVP and not at all about cosmetics, card art, or owning rare things.
Thank you for the feedback and still taking the time to write up a comment. I appreciate the gesture 🙏 feel free to check out my other videos if this one didn’t work out for you 🤍
Multiple useless currencies, select few overpowered cards, whales you can't compete against, and worst of all 1 pack every 12 hours. This game is trash
Feel free to share your thoughts and please keep it respectful 🤍

I can't wait for when they bring shiny cards so we can use this more 😆

I shame Whaled.
I just want cute Pokemon. Got my Mew and now play silly decks in NoEx private searches.
I finally won the Ash Starter Pokemon Challenge. All 3 energy types. All 3 Starter lines. 1 Pokeball and 1 Prof research. So many losses but that final win felt so good 😭 ❤
Hey!! No shame in that 😆if it brings you joy it brings you joy right!? Congratulations on your Mew too! ♥
I've heard about how people are doing the NoEX private battles!
I hear this a lot irl and online! I like that you don’t really have to grind 🙈
Especially the battling other pokemon idea 🤩
When you said "other notable in game NPCs" I immediately thought of Youngster Joey (the shorts kid) 😆
There was the tcg for the original game boy color and now on switch that has a great pve mode.
I love that! And I especially love when casuals and more hardcore players can respect that from one another.
Pokemon go 2016 did not have as much features as Pokemon go 2024 I feel like Pokemon tcg pocket will grow over time, they will add new features and packs in time
I totally agree with you on this one!!
Probably should add more rewards from playing battles. As of now, there’s next to no reason to play any more than the 5 tickets you get from “thanks”
I agree with you! More rewards would be so nice to see
I love the Pokémon Pocket TCG because i feel like I don’t need to grind and spend too much time on it.
I really appreciate you ♥
I can totally see how this gives so much nostalgia players who grew up with the older games and don't have as much time now to game.
The fact that there instances where the community helps each other out
I love that your comment focused on the positive things.
The devs have a lot of previous card games to learn from so im hoping they do and dont end up milking this until it dries up
@@Jude-yk9uc Yes! it's as Glare108 says, "it's only season 1"! and its exciting enough to experience this and be a part of this games history as it evoles 😆
A campaign style would be so fun for me because I do enjoy battling but versus intimidate me and the solo battles feel a little empy for me 😆still fun though! but could be better ♥
I didn't know a mode like that excited in HS!
Non ranked just having people playing for fun with silly decks is a lot less stressful than the weird mix we have right now of that + meta decks
I hope the suits will be willing to reinvest the crazy money the game is making into the devs. Even just having campaigns that follow the same stories as each of the games would be pretty cool. Masters EX was purely solo and had lots of story content, it just ended up devolving into just a pure gacha, hopefully not a sign of how tcgp will end up ^^,
to answer your title according to google approximately 30,000,000 people across the world as of November 11, 2024
I got discouraged with PVP for pretty much the same reason of running into Mewtwo or Pika decks while farming wins for my ribbons 😂
I’m sorry to hear that your friend told you to cancel premium 😔 there’s so much to enjoy from premium even if you don’t PvP!
Sometimes I'm lucky sometimes I'm not 😆🍀
Sending you luck to get that 078 Gyarados and all your foreign artwork Eevee!!
Im just interested in playing the cards and appreciating the arts😁👍🏻✨
Emphasis on appreciating the arts for me LOL 😂
People who love Pokemon but don’t collect cards. I’ve had friends do that. Not everyone takes Pokémon serious to a competitive degree or game the actual card collecting seriously. Of course many do
That’s true! I have some friends who don’t collect cards irl but they play the game too 🤗
Came for pokemon pocket content, stayed for the dance party! 💃🤪
I did spend some money on it and I had fun doing so.
Dance party~ 😂🎉
You’re totally right about just having fun and not getting addicted to spending!
Sending you and the gf good luck on your future pulls! ʕっ•ᴥ•ʔっ~ 🍀✨
Happy holidays everyone...
Happy holidays!!!
I really like the game. I would enjoy it more if I knew the exact plan and I wouldn't feel pressed for time to get all the cards (I am currently opening charizard packs, the only EXes I need are Starmie and Exeggutor - and I feel like I don't know how much time I have to get them - I am getting nice alternate arts in the meantime ... but I would like getting a timeline and plan how the new set will be available - will I need to choose between the new set, and this set ? or will they have separate gauges? )
I would love more singleplayer and more game modes (sealed formats is what I love most ) .
I've meet so many people to battle with it's awesome
I love that so much!! 😭so wholesome
I like the Nido decks
Ouhh!! I might have to try it out myself then!

I hear you on that! What changes would you like to see to make it less empty and not so cookie cutter?
C'mon ppl, be cute
😆🤗
Good video beautiful. ^^
Thank you 🤗
@@Eutrope_ You're welcome, you have gained a new follower 🤗
We need emotes
I agree I would love to see emotes in the game!
Clicked off after that intro
Thank you for the feedback and still taking the time to write up a comment. I appreciate the gesture 🙏 feel free to check out my other videos if this one didn’t work out for you 🤍
Multiple useless currencies, select few overpowered cards, whales you can't compete against, and worst of all 1 pack every 12 hours. This game is trash
What would you have liked to see differently?
Me. It’s made for me.
LOL 😆
