likewise, glad I went for royal Akkerman blauw over this: everyone should have a wee bottle of Akkerman ink in their collection - that bottle design looks cool and it works brilliantly!; thanks for this:)
Thank you for this review! I so nearly bought this ink as my first fp ink and I am now glad that I didn't. It seems to be a bit misbehaved / troublesome / not-so-shocking as the photos online would have one believe. Now that I have seen your review I can stop wondering whether I made the right choice to pass on it.
You're most welcome, Storge! 😊 Folks have informed me this morning that the ink name is a nod to a Dutch band from the 60s and 70s (see here: ua-cam.com/video/aPEhQugz-Ew/v-deo.html). Super-sheeners really don't do anything for me - too many accompanying problems. But I can understand why some would like this. A wet nib, and perhaps a hooded nib, would be the way to go. Meanwhile, yeah, the rest of us can move on.
@@EFNIR Thank you for the context and the link. For anyone reading this, you could try Tramol's Ink: Volga River as a possible cheap alternative if you are looking for a blue ink that is a super sheener. _Disclaimer: I am not Liz and I have absolutely no clue what I am talking about and you should totally ignore everything that I write_
@@storge306 😅 I looked up Tramol Volga River, and it does indeed look very similar in color. Looks like the brand isn't the easiest to find in the US, but I'm sure if one tried hard enough, one could find a seller. Thanks for the info! (And you're most welcome!)

You're most welcome! 😁 Totally agree, Angus - everyone needs an Akkerman bottle!
Agreed. Akkerman ink (# 24 Zuiderpark Blauw-Groen) is my staple / go-to ink and probably my most used ink because it just works... and those bottles!
Thank you for this review!
