I have a gaming laptop with an RTX 3050 (4GB VRAM), and I've been playing the Silent Hill 2 remake smoothly without any issues. I run the game on high graphics settings with DLSS enabled. Initially, I experienced FPS drops and lag, but I found a fix: simply add -dx11 to the game's launch options in Steam. To do this: 1. Open Steam and go to your game library. 2. Right-click on Silent Hill 2 and select Properties. 3. Under the General tab, find the Launch Options field. 4. Type -dx11 and close the window. 5. Launch the game, and it should run flawlessly! Switching to DirectX 11 resolved all the performance issues for me, and now the game runs smoothly.
Damn you had me in the first half lol , 40 fps constant in the beginning and suddenly dropped to 8 fps at the end. I guess this is truly the end for 4gb vram 🙃
Just keeping low preset with dlss in performance(fsr 1 in quality also works well for some weird reason fps wise sometimes better fps then dlss perf also) and once restarting the game if the game seems to be in 8-10 fps fixes the issue it's prob shaders compiling or traversal stutter
I had the same issue, turning off hardware accelerated GPU scheduling fixes the issue. I'm guessing this is related to poor optimization or a UE5 problem.

Have tbis same laptop and it seems you can play at around a consistent 30 for a little bit. Then it drops to around 8-15fps for like a minute or so. If you wait it out it will jump back to 30. So it is somewhat playable if you are willing to wait after the frames drop to crap every 5-10 minutes.
Hello! While I was playing I had the same issue. I was getting 40 fps but then game would suddenly drop to 8-15 for a few minutes. To fix this go to your windows graphics settings and turn off hardware accelerated gpu scheduling and then reboot.

put everything on low with dlss quality, and anti aliasing off. that's what iam using and i don't see a difference in graphics with low vs high in 1080p
@@nitinsingh5141 We're getting close to the end of 4gb cards yes but that's not the issue in this game. It's poor optimization with UE5. It may get better with patches tho

Thanks for the share bro its time to throw my laptop away lets go bro
since it's an unreal engine 5 title i think you can edit config file to turn off nanite and rt like hellblade 2
Did that improve performance in that game
