You have the best stamps and die cuts! The frustrating thing about watching four years later, stuff is not available anymore! Really enjoyed looking through your journal - can't wait to make my own this year!
Thanks so much for watching. I hope you have fun making your own. Whenever I do a project I I try and use what I have on hand and always encourage others to do the same. Just go through all your Halloween bits and pieces and start there for your journal. Just take some of the ideas from my journal and make them your own using the stash that you have on hand. That way it will be a one of a kind creation.
Wow~!,,, This is so chunky ! Tremendos share , I adore it !! The stamping throughout the book is fabooooolous, love the vintagy look ! Junk Jornal on an entirely Other level !
Really enjoyed seeing this pop up in my feed!! I'm getting ready to create a Halloween jj for a friend and you've inspired me!! Thank you so much and thank you for sharing your talent ❤️
Thanks so much for watching. Enjoy the process of making that journal for your friend. There is always so much fun stuff out there for Halloween not to mention using up bits and pieces leftover from other Halloween projects. I had hoped to get to another Halloween journal this year but time has gotten away from me. Hopefully next year.
Thanks so much for watching. The black kitten piece came from scrapbooking paper. I am not sure which company but it could be from Echo Park or Authentique. It has been awhile since I made this journal so I don't fully recall what I used but I know that it wasn't a digital image but from scrapbooking paper.
Thank you! You design beautiful kits and was very pleased with the way everything printed that I used in this journal. I was especially happy that the kit contained so much ephemera.
Wow Julie this book was epic! I love everything you did in it! I also have those skull/rose napkins I've been hoarding them forever! Haha! I love the way you used yours in here with the black gesso! 👌👌 Thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much for watching. I am so happy to see that people are still watching the video as this one is still my all time favorite journal that I have ever made. I just dug out my Halloween napkins again trying to decide if I want to put any of them in the current Halloween journal I just started.
Thank you for sharing your Journal I truly enjoyed that. You did an amazing job I love all the paper all your paper clips truly just everything you did I can tell that definitely took a long time to do but your end product is absolutely gorgeous. Again thank you so much for sharing.
Wow! This is the biggest junk journal I've ever saw! It's bootiful! Thanks so much for the shoutout! I really appreciate it and was pleasantly surprised! I loooove the spider web effect you did on yours! Loving that jumbo paper clip, and that triple banner page flags tuck spots, such a cool idea! Tfs hugs Renee
Just found this and your channel, and I’m definitly going to draw a lot of inspiration from this when i make my first book. This is gorgeous!😍 Looking forward to being a subscriber and bingewatch your other videos, and see what else you’ll come up with..
Thank you so much for your comments. I had fun making this one and it is going to be hard to part with. There are all sorts of good tutorials out there on how to make junk journals sewing in signatures and then it is just a matter of adding in pockets, belly bands and tuck spots. I can refer you to a few tutorials if you are interested.
oh yes please, I make neat mini albums, just haven't tried this.. I just posted my newest if you would like to see.. but yes please refer me to a few I'd very much love that thank you thank you
Here is one that I like from Delygirl1961 She has a series and this is video 1 of how to make a file folder junk journal from start to finish with the pamphlet stitch: ua-cam.com/video/cploIkm81FM/v-deo.html If you are on Facebook I would highly recommend the Vintage Junk Journals Group and the Junk Journal Junkies group. If you sign up for Junk Journal Junkies also sign up for their chat group as this is the one where you can post questions. The main group is just for swaps and showcasing your journals. Also www.vintagejunkjournals.com is a good website that has all sorts of information from different types of bindings, what to put in journals, etc. and is a good resource for those starting out. My guess is you will catch on pretty fast with your mini albums as you can incorporate a lot of what you do in mini albums into junk journals. I love your channel and have been a subscriber for awhile!
Hi Julie, Wow this is so Fantastic and I just Love it! All the layering and details are perfect! I've never made a junk journal but really Love them. TFS and Take Care Sweetie. Big Hugs, Sue Ann 👻🍁💀🍂🕷🕸🎃😈👍💜
Thank you! If you do get a video up on one that you made for Christmas let me know as I would love to watch it. I too hope to get a Christmas one done.
I use a variety of papers in my journal. A lot of the time it is based on what I have on hand. For basic coffee dyed papers I like using 24# or 28# paper as they see to hold together better when I coffee dye and less ripping than the 20# paper. For digital printables I use either premium presentation paper (61#) or double sided matte photo paper (32#). Cardstock and the 28# paper does work well with digital printables too but the images come out so much nicer on the presentation paper or matte photo paper. I also print tags and ephemera on heavier cardstock that is 64# or 110#. I really try and stay away from the 20# paper as it seems to rip more when you coffee dye, you can usually see stamped images on the backside and also if you write in your journals you can sometimes see the writing so I try to use 24# paper on up.
WOW! I absolutely love this! One question I have to start with - because I need to replace a printer - may I ask what printer you have that you are using to print the digital designs? The prints look wonderful!
Tammy...I use an Epson Photo Stylus Photo 2200. It is an older printer that my husband used to use for printing off wildlife pictures and now he has a better one so he let me have it The only criticism that I have for this one is that it does not print end to end and the ink is expensive. There is also some information on Vintagejunkjournals.com that has a lot of information about printers and papers. I also recommend checking settings on your printer to make sure that you are using the right setting for the type of paper that you are using. Also if you buy a new one make sure that you are getting one that has individual cartridges for the colors as I think that makes a huge difference. Mine has 7 cartridges.
