    The CBF125 has a 16 and 42 sprocket... I wonder how that'd feel on the new CB125F. I ended up getting a CBF125 just because the top speed is rated higher (and more suitable for UK roads where I live). But maybe a CB125F with sprocket change would have had a similar top speed anyway?

    on a cb125f they fitted a 16 tooth front sprocket? that is what quick google searched says. whatever you loose going up a hill you get that back when on a flat when you go up a sprocket and when you change down a tooth on the front it means that what you loose on a straight you basically gain on hill?

      Its means when you use a 15T sprocket you can ride up hill with higher gearing and with 16T sprocket you ride uphill with lower gear.

    Hi, if I put 17 front and 42 rear, do you think it will be too much for the engine?

      The 17 is very tight to fit I think I'd skip it.
      The engine should be ok

      @@1stSinBin Thank you for the answer. So 17 is tight but it fits if I understand correctly?

    Bit of a late comment but I’ve got one in the 2015 model and I’ve looked on the website, the 16 tooth and 44 tooth what size chain should I use plus I can’t actually find the 44 tooth sprocket on the website

      Might you have a cbf125? The normal chain should be OK with adjustment at the back wheel. I can't remember all the sizes. Have a look at JT sprockets own website and they show all the ones for your bike. Get the part number then go ebay as they fit many bikes.

    I was on a 16-45 felt fine now on a 16-42 but I think I want to go to a 15-42 just because it bogs abit on hill starts not sure what to do because I have bought full set chain n sprockets n had to cut the chain do u think the 15-42 would be similar to the 16-45?

      Yep 15-42 will be 2. 80 so abit faster off the line than 16-44, the chart is at 4 min mark in this vid :)

    They say never change your front sprocket cause you will
    damage your engine.
    Is that true??

    • @1stSinBin
      @1stSinBin  3 роки тому

      I'm not sure who they are but no it shouldn't do any damage. unless fitted wrong or you go so far it's revving like crazy but that still wouldn't be the sprockets fault. Manufactures choose a sprocket for the rev range and feel they want the bike to have. In motor racing they will regularly switch sprockets to siut the track and gearing.

    GLR 125 15-20 models are 15-45 standard sprocket settings. 15-46 is the sweet spot imo. If you want more power or a faster bike…buy a faster bike 🤷🏻‍♂️ these bikes are for fuel economy not speed
